Nanoparticles and Their Effect on the Immune System: Study of the Proinflammatory Potential of Selected Carbon Nanomaterials
Švadláková, Tereza ; Krejsek, Jan (advisor) ; Stulík, Jiří (referee) ; Roušar, Tomáš (referee)
Carbon-based nanomaterials (CNMs) have unique physical-chemical properties, which make them appropriate candidates for both industry and medicine. However along with production, there are growing concerns about their effects on human organism. For this reason, CNMs are frequent topic of toxicological studies. A key step in the clarification of their safety is to evaluate their interaction with the components of the immune system, particularly their ability to cause inflammation. For some allotropes e.g., pristine graphene derivatives, significant results are still missing or incomplete. For these reasons, this dissertation deals with the evaluation of the proinflammatory effect of two types of pristine graphene platelets (GPs), which represent common intermediate in the processing of other graphene derivatives, and which can penetrate to body via inhalation. For comparison, our work also includes an evaluation of the proinflammatory effect of multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs). Professional phagocytes, particularly monocytes and macrophages represent key cells in processing and elimination of foreign and damaged or abnormal elements. Since phagocytes also represent main mediators of inflammation, we selected human primary monocytes and human monocytic cell line THP-1 differentiated in macrophages...
The influence of the menstrual cycle on eating habits and the need for sports activities
Jelínková, Karolína ; Jaklová Dytrtová, Jana (advisor) ; Šteffl, Michal (referee)
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of the influence of the menstrual-ovulatory cycle on the diet and physical condition of women. Countless studies in the field of training deal only with the male population, as the cyclicality of women is a complex and still not sufficiently researched topic. Because changes in hormone levels further cause various changes and reactions in tissues and organs, it is necessary to take into account the cyclicality of women in sports training, diet or other areas. Fluctuations in hormonal levels also cause psychological and emotional changes. In this work, a search is made of suitable studies together with known facts on this topic. The first part includes the description of the cycle itself and the second part the analysis of generally known nutritional recommendations. Thus, it cannot be assumed that women's activity is unchanged throughout the menstrual-ovulatory cycle. We created a table that monitors the sleep, diet, drinking regime, physical activity and emotions of women during the day, throughout the menstrual / ovulatory cycle. These elements are important for further research into female variability. It is important for women to understand their cycle, as it has an impact on the overall functioning of the body. During the cycle, changes were detected in...
Aristocratic Residence in Modern Times: Changes of Historical Park in Krásný Dvůr
Kocek, Karel ; Havlůjová, Hana (advisor) ; Foltýn, Dušan (referee)
The thesis is focused on the development of historical park in Krásný Dvůr. History of the park is researched on the basis of accessible sources and presented in five chapters, including the period of time between the years 1783 and 1986. The reasons for both establishment and reconstructions of the park are illustrated with essays that had been written by famous visitors of the park, with official owners' records and with correspondence about the park in Krásný Dvůr. A special attention is focused on reconstructions that were done in this period. The changes of built-up area and field adjustments documented and compared with present situation. The aim of the thesis is to draw a rich historical line of the park that will help to popularise the site in Krásný Dvůr. Keywords Aristocratic residence, modern times, Krásný Dvůr, park, changes.
Myth of female beauty
The Transition from the Working Process to the Retirement
Štanclová, Marie ; Čížková, Hana (advisor) ; Dočkal, Jan (referee)
This work deals with the changes that take place in people already have retired. It addresses in particular the impact on their life in the last stage of life. Subsequently, a managing retirement as it is when people feel, describes the changes that take place in humans. Then mentions about retirement, pension types. Describes how it can be prepaired, adaptation. It talks about the roles that one has prior to retirement and beyond. Describes the reaction of older people themselves, their perception of this stage and at the same time, how they react to their surroundings. All information has been collected from respondents who have passed retirement. The structured interview was made with them and the obtained informations were subsequently processed.
Tool to trace websites contents changes
Rychnovský, Dušan ; Holan, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dokulil, Jiří (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to design and implement a tool to trace websites contents changes. The output is to be a web page modified to reflect the changed areas. The application must allow the user to set relevant parts of a web page and therefore define areas, which are to be ignored. The text of the thesis describes how to install and use the tool, the structure of the source code, the issues which had to be solved during the development, some possibilities of further improvement of the application and its comparison to other tools available. 1
Runoff Changes in the Šumava/Bohemian Forest Region
Fiala, Ondřej ; Kliment, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Královec, Václav (referee)
RUNOFF CHANGES IN THE ŠUMAVA / BOHEMIAN FOREST REGION Abstract: The goal of this thesis is to the evaluation of possible causes of changes in runoff regime in the Šumava region from time and spacial point of view. The thesis includes research and applied part. The research part is dedicated to methods of evaluation of runoff changes and their possible causes in teh Šumava region such as anthropogenic factors (changes in the river network, dams, drainage, land - use changes), natural factors (climate changes, peatbogs influence) and disturbances (wind calamities and bark beetle outbreaks, floods). In the applied part there is an analysis of precipitaion - runoff regime for long-term time series of average annual, monthly and minimal daily discharges and monthly precipitations for selected gauging stations in upper Otava, Ostružná, Volyňka, upper Blanice and Teplá Vltava basins using simple and double mass curves and Mann - Kendall test. In conclusion the achieved results were evaluated, discussed and compared with subject publications. Key words: disturbance, Mann - Kendall test, runoff, discharge, mass curves, precipitation, Šumava, changes
