Jan, Šimon ; Absolon, Tomáš (referee) ; Tajovský, Jakub (advisor)
The central point of my work is setting the rules of the process of creation and then exploring the tendency to deepen or break these rules. I see the definition of my own field on the basis of rules as, among other things, the essence of anchoring my creative personality within my artistic practice. The thesis also develops the relationship between two formats and two materials in one painting. Central to this is the technique of pyrography and its ambivalent symbolism of an irreversible act, destruction yet protection. The paintings contain symbols in the form of two competing or cooperating shapes inspired by biological rhythms. Furthermore, this work explores issues of line, area, boundary, framing, repetition and gamification.
The Influence of Cross-Border Cooperation on the Competitiveness of Euroregions
FRIEDRICHS, Marco Jerome
This master's thesis analyses the influence of cross-border cooperation on the competitiveness of Euroregions by means of a comparative case study of two selected Euroregions: the Greater Region at the intersection of the borders between the states of Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Germany, and the Euregio Egrensis, covering territories of the Czech Republic and the three German Länder Bavaria, Saxony and Thuringia. The research objective raised first and foremost two questions: How to measure the influence of cross-border cooperation and how to measure the competitiveness of (Euro)regions? This thesis is therefore divided into two parts. First, the key concepts of Euroregions, cross-border cooperation and regional competitiveness are discussed at length as all of them are demanding notions in their own right and their understanding critical for the success of the subsequent comparative case study, which then forms this thesis's second part.

The campaign before general elections in 1948 affected the problems when the western allies promised Italy to integrate the area concerned to the republic to turn the election results in favour of democratic parties. Moreover, this paper analyses changes which happened after the Yugoslav-Soviet split and which had the impact on the solution of the Trieste question. It also follows difficult negotiations which lead to the end of problems between Italy and Yugoslavia concerning the Trieste region.
Town-house
Kvášová, Lucie ; Plášil, Jiří (referee) ; Boháč, Ivo (advisor)
The house is defined by its urban context in which it is located. It reacts to objects which are close to him. The proposed multifunctional house communicates with the opposite facade of the Church of St. Leopold and adds the harmony and the order to the whole space, which is now lacking. Together it should imaginarily create the dominant transit in to the city centre - the pylons of the city gate. On its ground floor, the building opens up the communication with the street space and, thanks to the glass, blurs the boundaries of its interior and the exterior.
