Vliv glyfosátu na fyziologické procesy v živočišném organismu
Jelínková, Lucie
This bachelor thesis deals with the effect of glyphosate on the animal organism. The influence of individual selected groups of animals and humans is examined in different types of expermients. The bees in the behavioral study showed a reduced response to sucrose, a deterioration in short-term memory and a deterioration in the formation of ofor-foos relationships. Glyphosate reduced biodiversity in the amphibian population and also halved the toxicity at lower doses when the active substance was studied. Glyphosate also affects carp hepatocytes, which are subject to histological changes. The deteriorating health of the fish, which is infested with exoparasites, makes it easier for glyphosate to enter the body. In rats and rabbits, they cause reproductive problems. Human placental cells respond to glyphosate by reducing the production of the enzyme responsible for estrogen synthesis and thus to fertility problems. Glyphosate is more common in professional exposure and i tis similar in the population living in the immediate vicinity of its application.
The effect of selected cannabinoids on quantitative EEG, behaviour, and their therapeutic potential
Uttl, Libor ; Páleníček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Šlamberová, Romana (referee) ; Šustková, Magdaléna (referee)
Cannabinoids and especially CBD are these days a highly discussed topic with a huge overlap in the media space. Their ability to interact not only with cannabinoid receptors, but also with other pathways, in combination with a huge "hype", leads, despite the not very strong evidence of their effects in clinical practice, to the testing of cannabinoids in a broad spectrum of indications. Nowadays, we have more than 150 isolated cannabinoids, but the research is focused only on the main cannabinoids like for example THC, CBD, cannabigerol, cannabichromen or hexahydrocannabinol. For our research, we have chosen the two most well- known cannabinoids THC and CBD, and our key question was not only what is the role of these cannabinoids individually, but, also, how do they interact when administered together, how do they influence behaviour and how do they interact in dependence on the method of administration. All these questions were addressed within our rat experiments. Somewhat surprisingly, we did not observe the typical cannabinoid tetrad (decreased sensitivity to painful stimuli, hypothermia, catalepsy, and overall decrease in motor activity) after the THC administration, so we wondered what would happen if we used more potent and selective synthetic cannabinoids JWH- 073, JWH-210, instead of THC....
Stabilita individuálních rozdílů v chování u rypošů lysých
MARKOVÁ, Michaela
The study of animal personality has received an increased attention in scientific literature. The repeatability of behavior in time or context represents the main principle in personality research. In subteranean rodents, the stable individual differences in behavior have not been studied. The aim of this work was to evaluate the repeatability of behavior in naked mole rats (Heterocephalus glaber) measured in two experimental tests at two time points. The repeatability of all 11 behavioral variables was evaluated as significantly repeatable.
The effect of divorce on child´s behavior in the kindergarden from the perspective of preschool teacher
ČELEDOVÁ, Alena
This bachelor's thesis deals with the influence of parents' divorce on a child's behavior in kindergarten from the perspective of teachers. Furthermore, attention is paid to the manifestations of changes in behavior of preschool children. Qualitative research is devoted to the experience of kindergarten teachers with these children. They tell how a child approaches this situation, they compare the adaptation to divorce in a three-year- old and a six-year-old child. Also, what procedure they choose to intervene in case of non-standard child behavior.
Je tzv. na sebe zaměřené chování univerzálním měřítkem stresu u primátů?
TRČKOVÁ, Lucie
Self-directed behavior is considered to be a consequence of a stress situation and as a proxy of stress level is supported by recent studies. I reviewed studies that used various methods across primate species. Potential factors effcting occurence of self-directed behavior were discussed.
Media in the lives of preschool children
KRAJÍČKOVÁ, Simona
The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of media and how the media interfere with the lives of children. The theoretical part focuses on what the media are, what it brings to people and how they influence them and their behavior. It introduces us to media functions and several terms from this field. The aim of the practical part is to find out how much time children spend on television or with other media, what attitude their parents take and also how the media experiences are reflected in the themes of games and creation of these children. It includes a questionnaire survey of parents of children from one class, observation of games and drawings of children in the classroom and more detailed monitoring of two selected children.
The impact of international linkages on the behaviour of environmental non-governmental organisations
Suchá, Magdaléna ; Weiss, Tomáš (advisor) ; Tomalová, Eliška (referee)
Master's Thesis Magdaléna Suchá Summer 2021/2022 Abstract The growing number of NGOs has also resulted in the growing interest of academics in them. However, the available literature on NGOs suffers from several weaknesses. For example, researchers do not substantially reflect the influence of international linkages on organizational behavior. The theory of sociological institutionalism, which is the theoretical framework of this thesis, assumes that through contacts and the influence of exposure to international structures, the institution changes and with it its behavior. The aim of this thesis is therefore to find an answer to the question of whether it is indeed the different degrees of institutionalization of organizations that manifest themselves externally in different behavior. The answer to the question is sought through an analysis of the behavior of two differently internationally institutionalized NGOs linked by their subject of interest - the environment. The first organization is the Greenpeace Czech Republic, the Czech branch of the international NGO, while the second NGO is Hnutí DUHA, which has its roots purely in the Czech Republic. The first part of the thesis introduces the theory of new institutionalism with a focus on its concrete form - sociological institutionalism, followed by a...
Educational potential of combat sports training on adolescents' behavior
Schneider, Jonatan ; Janošová, Pavlína (advisor) ; Mazáčová, Nataša (referee)
Anotation This thesis examines both positive or negative educational potencial of combat sports training on youth's education. By doing in-depth interviews with expert trainers I searched for their own professional opinions on this subject. Collected data were analysed and compared with similar studies from the past. The aim of this thesis was to support or refute previous studies and my research expectations that show combat sports as a fully respected part of a sports industry capable of positive influence on its participants psyche and behavior. Results of the research confirmed that training of these sports can help adolescents cultivate good manners and healthy habits.
Typology of North Korea's Behavior: Analysis of the relations between the US and DPRK
Štroblová, Radka ; Hornát, Jan (advisor) ; Sehnálková, Jana (referee)
Since the accession of Donald J. Trump to the presidency, there have been many significant events that have affected the United States' relations with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea - from testing North Korean nuclear weapons, to verbal insults to both officials, to a historical meeting of the leaders of both Korean states in the demilitarized zone, a joint performance by South Korean and North Korean athletes at the Pyongyang Winter Olympics, to the historic Singapore Summit between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un. However, the second meeting of both representatives in Hanoi ended prematurely - without signing the planned joint statement. Relations between the United States of America and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea are constantly developing. The main theme of the talks in the past was the complete, verifiable and irreversible denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula to ensure lasting peace and stability for the region. The North Korean nuclear program and efforts to reduce it have thus become a major issue in multilateral negotiations, with the Republic of Korea, China, Russia and Japan participating in addition to the United States and North Korea. North Korea, however, often sabotaged the talks and the period of cooperation was interrupted by provocations and hostile...
Methodological aspects of active place avoidance task
Bahník, Štěpán ; Stuchlík, Aleš (advisor) ; Němec, Pavel (referee)
The active place avoidance task represents one of the methods of the study of animal cognition. In this task, a subject is put on a rotating circular arena and avoids invisible sector that is stable with respect to the room. Rotation of the arena means that the subject's avoidance must be active, otherwise the subject would be moved in the punished sector by the rotation of the arena and a slight electric shock would be administered. The experiment described in the present work explored the effect of variable arena rotation speed on the ability to avoid the punished sector. Rats in a group with a variable arena rotation speed learned to avoid the punished sector with the same speed and attained the same ability to avoid the sector as rats in a group with a stable arena rotation speed. The only difference between the two groups was found in a preferred position within the room. No difference was found between the two groups in the dark phase, where the rats could not use orientation cues in the room. Only one rat was able to learn the avoidance of the punished sector in this phase. The results of the experiment suggest that idiothetic orientation and interval timing are not crucial for learning of the avoidance of the punished sector. However, idiothetic orientation is sufficient for the avoidance of the...
