Deployment of Cloud Services for Embedded IoT Devices
Solčík, Vít ; Crha, Adam (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
Main purpose of this thesis is to prepare an analysis of the existing approaches to the realization of cloud-based services for IoT domain and propose a solution demonstrating the exploitation of this concept for embedded devices with constrained resources. Departing from this point, the attention is further given to the aspect of secure TCP/IP communication between cloud service and embedded device using Ethernet interface. An integral part of the proposed solution is also comprising the implementation of necessary firmware for interact with IoT platform via supported network protocols. Last but not least this work is dealing as well with the design and practical deployment of a demonstration application, which uses this communication infrastructure.
Development of the Web Application for Managing Projects
Klečka, Filip ; Neuwirth, Bernard (referee) ; Dydowicz, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on the design, development and subsequent implementation of the web application at the company BKB Metal Plc. In that case it is the complete supply ready-made solution. The aim of this work is to develop and implement the web application into corporate environment that will serve as a support of project management and will especially provide the solution for creating visualization by using a Gantt diagram. The impetus for this project was primarily the inconvenient of the current solution, which is not support the key company requirements and as well efforts to reduce costs.
Cloud Applications with a JavaScript Client
Hudec, Lukáš ; Rychlý, Marek (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
Thesis contains a research of current technologies for developing cloud applications with a JavaScript client. Its theoretical part describes and compares these technologies. Practical part is focused on design and implementation of a sample application, which is using the related technologies.
Automatized Testing and Deployment Support for Server Application
Maga, Martin ; Rychlý, Marek (referee) ; Křivka, Zbyněk (advisor)
Task of this master thesis is to create system for support of automated testing and deploying of server applications according to requirements defined by company AVG. The main target is create system for deploying and testing that automatically or manually test the server application in the cloud environment with ability of final deployment to the production environment with overall progress monitoring. Automated testing and deploying system has been split to the two parts. The first part is user interface that allows adding new applications, testing applications and deploying applications to its production environment. The second part represents the REST service which process testing and deploying tasks and  store progress to database. System was tested with sample server's applications in Amazon Web Services cloud environment. Thesis describes general testing principles cross multiple areas. Also it contains general architecture withing diagrams, which shows use cases. At the end of thesis is described testing of samples application together with results.
The effect of introduction of Cloud Computing: The case of Venture Capital
Šomvársky, Jan ; Mejstřík, Michal (advisor) ; Čech, František (referee)
The thesis aims to examine the impact of introduction of Cloud Computing on Venture Capital (VC) financing in the United States. In the first part we review features of Cloud Computing and their impact on startup costs in context of VC. In this thesis we consider Amazon Web Services (AWS), introduced in 2006, a pioneer of widely accessible Cloud Computing. In the second part we quantify the cost reduction associated with utilization of AWS against owning IT infrastructure. Results show 529 fold decrease in startup costs in 3- month time frame. In the third part we analyze the impact of introduction of AWS on seed and later-stage investments in context of selected macroeconomic and technological factors. We perform analysis on a comprehensive dataset from National Venture Capital Association using Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model to account for a change in lagged values of dependent and independent variables. Main finding of our analysis suggests that seed investments are significantly influenced by the introduction of AWS and subsequent drop in startup costs. Specifically, the decline in cost of startup induced 29.67% increase in seed investments. Further findings indicate insignificant relationship between seed investments and macroeconomic factors. Moreover, according to our results,...
Universal Reservation System in Cloud
Bulín, Martin ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Škoda, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes design and implementation of universal reservation system in cloud. Main part of this thesis includes review of cloud providers and existing reservation systems. Furthermore this academic paper deals with proposal and implementation of the reservation system. This system can show us the benefit of the cloud. In the conclusion I deal with scalability of cloud and testing created system in Amazon Web Services cloud.
Data warehouse in the Amazon Web Services
Kuželka, Kryštof ; Palovská, Helena (advisor) ; Pour, Jan (referee)
The primary objective of this work is to investigate the potential of utilizing Hadoop and Amazon Redshift in the Amazon Web Services ("AWS") cloud, in order to design and implement a data warehouse, the efficacy of which will be tested afterwards. Contributions of this work include: documenting the technologies in the AWS cloud in Czech, demonstration of the design and performance tests of the data warehouse and the ETL part. Another considerable benefit is the added value to the company for whom the project was designed, and which is currently using the output of the project.
Application of cloud computing for map graphics processing automation, cost optimization using simulation methods
Fröhlich, Martin ; Bruckner, Tomáš (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
The thesis deals with the use of cloud computing to solve computationally intensive task. Simulation methods are employed to analyze the operation of the proposed system before putting it into operation. Cloud computing makes the functionality of modern data centers accessible to small businesses, cloud allows scaling up and scaling down of resource usage on an as-needed basis; moreover, without high initial investments and long-term commitments. The paper examines in detail the ways to adapt the currently most popular cloud environment of Amazon's Elastic Compute Cloud to the specific requirements of custom applications and suggests ways to automate the process of creation and customization of instance images. The automation and management of running applications in cloud environment is demonstrated on the example of geographic data processing and map generation application. The simulation model for running applications in the cloud is built and exploited to verify the ability of the proposed solutions to succeed in a production deployment.
Cloud computing - comparison of available solutions
Čurda, Vít ; Pavlíček, Luboš (advisor) ; Gála, Libor (referee)
Goal of this thesis is to explain functions and usage of cloud computing solution and offer a basic overview in cloud computing, especially PaaS level. In the beginning of this thesis are explained basic terms and principles of cloud computing, focus is also on Platform-as-a-Service level. Then, there is a overview of biggest and most known cloud computing providers and explanation, how providers services go. In practical part of this thesis, reader should be informed about basic practices in cloud computing application development and features of its platform. This is showed on Windows Azure and Google AppEngine platform. Features of these platforms are compared in the end of thesis.
