Processing image metadata in XSLT/XQuery
Šubrt, Matěj ; Kosek, Jiří (advisor) ; Vojíř, Stanislav (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with how to obtain information from image formats, especially those that use Exif specification for storing metadata, which offers a lot of information about the image. The work focuses on creating a library that gets these meta-data from the image using XSLT, XQuery and XPath. A simple application/transformation is also part of the work, which can extract the metadata from the enclosed images and display them to the user.
Updating XML data
Mikuš, Tomáš ; Pokorný, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Holubová, Irena (referee)
Updating XML data is very wide area, which must solve a number of difficult problems. From designing language with sufficient expressive power to the XML data repository able to apply the changes. Ways to deal with them are few. From this perspective, is this work very closely dedicated only to the language XQuery. Thus, its extension for updates, for which the candidate recommendation by the W3C were published only recently. Another specialization of this work is to focus only on the XML data stored in the objectrelational database with that repository will enforce the validity of documents to the scheme described in XML Schema. This requirement, combined with the possibility of updating of data in the repository is on the contradictory requirements. In this thesis is designed language based on XQuery language, designed and implemented evaluating of the update queries of the language on the store and a description and implementation of the store in objectrelational database.
An XQuery Visualization Tool
Maksimenka, Tatsiana ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Klímek, Jakub (referee)
Title: An XQuery Visualization Tool Author: Tatsiana Maksimenka Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: RNDr. Irena Mlýnková, Ph.D., Department of Software Engineering Abstract: Implementation of a tool to support teaching of XQuery language. Tool supports visualisation of input data, query itself and its results. Keywords: XQuery, XML, visualisation, graph
Inference of an XML Schema with the Knowledge of XML Operations
Mikula, Mário ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
Recently, plenty of methods dealing with automatic inference of XML schema have been developed, however, most of them utilize XML documents as their only input. In this thesis we focus on extending inference by incorporating XML operations, in particular XQuery queries. We discuss how can XQuery queries help in improving the inference process and we propose an algorithm based on chosen improvements, extending an existing method of a key discovery, that can be integrated to methods inferring so-called initial grammar. By implementing it, we created the first solution of XML schema inference using XML documents along with XML operations.
Managing Dictionaries in XML
Michalová, Romana ; Škoda, Petr (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
This paper describes the system that manages XML dictionaries which are at the LMF form. The dictionaries can be accessed on the server or locally. XML BaseX stores the dictionaries and one is able to compare, show, edit or create them. XSLT is used for visualization and XPath with XQuery are used for editing, navigating and going through the XML data.
Temporal XML Databases
Kunovský, Tomáš ; Zendulka, Jaroslav (referee) ; Rychlý, Marek (advisor)
The primary goal of this work is a implementation of temporal XML database in Java. There are described databases for XML documents and temporal databases with emphasis on their query languages and problem data storing is also analyzes for temporal databases. Source codes of the resulting application are public as open-source.
Support of Information Extraction from Structured Text
Kliment, Radek ; Petřík, Patrik (referee) ; Křivka, Zbyněk (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis deals with the way of information extraction from a structured text. The application converts the text from supported formats into the XML representation that is used for queries and then, corresponding output is created. In this thesis, particular formats of input files are described including the way of their conversion into the XML. The essential part explains the application functionality and implementation including short user manual.
A Tool for Editing and Comparing LMF Dictionaries
Fešar, Marek ; Kouřil, Jan (referee) ; Smrž, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis presents dictionary formats and focuses on principles and semantics of data storage using Lexical Markup Framework. Contains information on relationship between the framework and Data Category Registry, which is part of the ISO standard for further dictionary data specification. After that, the Oracle Berkeley database system for XML document storage is mentioned followed by approaches for addressing documents and its portions. Methods for dictionary comparison are being described as well as grouping and changing dictionary content. Help on the process of dictionary modification must be provided to the user in the way of showing expected features, relevant to the selected element.
Demonstration of Support for XML in Database Systems
Dvorštiak, Matej ; Fiala, Jiří (referee) ; Zendulka, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis is concerned with XML technologies and XML support of database systems. Especialy with Oracle database. Support is descripted in this work. Desription is aimed to an Oracle XML DB architecture, XML data type, work with XML schema, storing and quering options of XML data in Oracle database. Practical part describes aplication, demonstrates XML support for learning proposes. Theoretical and practical parts are appended with examples and pictures for better understanding of described problematic.
XML Persistence in Relational Databases
Boháč, Martin ; Kolář, Dušan (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to create a client xDB database, which supports visualization and management of XML documents and schemas. The first part deals with the introduction of XML, XML schemas (DTD, XML Schema, RelaxNG, etc.) and contextual technologies. After that the thesis deals with the problem of the XML persistence and it focuses on mapping techniques necessary for an efficient storage in a relational database. The main part is devoted to the design and implementation of client application XML Admin, which is programmed in Java. The application uses the XML:DB interface to communicate with the xDB database. It supports storing XML documents to a collection and the XPath language for querying them. The final section is devoted to application performance testing and comparison with existing native database eXist.
