Ondřej Sýkora ABSTRACT: The purpose of this bachelory diploma is to present a weapon as a mean of hunting or fighting, as well as the masterpiece, which says a lot about a person who created it. The creator gave to each weapon himself, didn't he? He had to be a good craftsman but he had to have art feeling too. Some people said the weapon had a magic power, according to others it wasn't difficult to recognize their owner. A long time ago the typical weapon was a sword which the kings and knights used to show their power. The sword as the most important weapon of medieval fighter, was very efficient and it was used for fighting at close range. The sword wasn't only the symbol of war but also the sign of prior role in society. But we can't only see the sword as a weapon. Sovereigners handed over the sword to each other as a symbol of reign leaving. The sword was a symbol of faith at the time of crusade when its shape was taken as a cross. TITLE: Technique: cutting weapons in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries - art and war AUTHOR: Petr Krajíc DEPARTMENT: Institute for professional development, faculty of education SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Helena Kafková ABSTRACT The target of the thesis is to present cold weapons not just as means of hunt, everyday use, but also as an attribute of the worrior art and to present reasons and changes, that lead to continual retirement of cold weapons to marginal possition. I study relevant concepts and sketch various dimensions that a weapon has under the changing circumstances. The thematic part of the work is devoted to cold weapons of the period of Habsburc monarchy. I present, in six chapters, basic patterns of use and kinds of cold weapons, described chronologically in concord with their history. I also study the period of the First Czechoslovak Republic. The major contribution of the thesis is acquiring basic knowledge from history, technical development and also the reasons of various changes and presentation of the weapon as artifact of its individual value. I also offer a picture of history and its sense and accompany it with cold weapons understood as a means of expressing important social concepts. Key words:  War, weapon, mobilization, work
The axe in the Early Middle Ages as a tool, weapon and symbol of the social status

The topic of this thesis is processing of finds of early medieval axes from areas of Moravia and Bohemia, based on accessible publications and is fully supported by this processing in a mater of crafting, but mainly in a matter combat and symbolic use of this versatile tool. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the reader to basic types of Slavic axes, their manufacturing and occurrence in particular localities, but mainly with the context of discovery circumstances and its interpretation with the relations to life of early medieval man. In a small extent, a statement of existing iconographic and written sources is used, mainly in questions that are not sufficiently known from archeological finds and situations.
Weapon (not only) as a work of art

The purpose of this bachelor work is to introduce a small-arms not only as an object for various kinds of practical utilization, but also to afer on thein values from the point of their perception as an art artefact in the linkup on their development in different cultures. It directs also on the region of Japan and samurai swords with reference on their sociocultural value. In the part dedicated to the hand weapons it introduces a history of their creation and methods of their division. In the last part presents the weapon as a device used in the movie industry and in the computer games in the linkup on a weapon presentation as an item of the violence in an up to date society. One of the targets of this bachelor work about weapons is an analyse of the social pathological event of the shooting in the schools so called "school shooting", which becomes very extended phenomen of current days. Work points on the possibilities and reasons of the origin of this phenomen by revealing a possible offender profile and further I introduce a concepts of the school shooting prevention in the linkup on the posibility to reveal potencial offender in time. Maintenance and service SW for weapon calibration

This thesis deals with virtual weapon simulator SAVIT for armed forces training. Using the example of training weapon MP5 the electrical structure of the device itself is described, followed by the description of communication protocol CANaerospace and USB. The thesis contains the list of parameters of the individual training weapons which are eligible to view in their service program. It also describes graphical user interface of the service program and important parts of its implementation. This thesis does not omit description of the communication between service program and training weapon. In the end it also contains the description of program testing and evaluation of the results of this thesis.
