Forest School Education

This bachelor thesis deals with education in forest preschools. This is a relatively new trend in preschool education in the Czech Republic and the aim of the thesis is to create a realistic and complete picture of this alternative. The thesis has two parts. The first part puts this pedagogical concept into the context of the current social situation, introduces its pedagogical bases and historical moments of its formation and spreading in the world. Further the theoretical part introduces the possible concepts and definitions of forest preschools, presents the basic principles, criteria, specifics and other related issues. At the end of the theoretical part the thesis deals with the Czech context of forest preschools. The practical part gives an insight into a possible case of the practice of forest preschool and presents research results in this area. The research focuses on the specific way of organizing of particular forest preschool, its pedagogical concept and also introduces the views of people involved.
Free play of 2-4year old children in a foreign-language kindergarten

This diploma thesis in its theoretical and practical parts focuses on free play of children in pre-school facilities. Kindergarten is the place of early secondary socialization of the child and that's why one part of the diploma thesis is centred on this theme. The theoretical part helps for a deeper understanding of play, especially with 2-4 year old children and builds a foundation for the research. The practical part, based on one year's observation, monitors development of free play of a homogeneous group of children and finds how the quality of play changes with individuals as well as the group. Another focus lies on comparing two separate groups of children in their free play - one group having long term experience with free play and one without such regular experience. The main method of the research is observation. The results of the research points to the importance of free play for a pre-school age child and confirms the influence of free play in the process of early secondary socialization.
Movement activities of pre-school children in free playing in kindergarten

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of movement of pre-school children in free play in kindergarten. The main goal was find whitch conditions are in chosen kindergarten in free play and by experiment find that modify conditions intensify movement but keep safety in kindergarten. The thesis is divided to theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part describes the characteristic of pre-school child, the need and importance of movement at this age, the definition and types of games and finally the problém of free-play conditions in kindergarten. For the practical part ithree methods were chosen. These include observing morning free play in four kindegartens, questionnaire for teachers from these kindergartens and experimentally checkiing the availability of three aids with one group od children in free play. The results of the diploma thesis show that the free movement of children in normal kindergarten according to the teachers complicates mainly the size of classroom spaces and the number of children in the classroom. Unfortunately during my observation in 75 % of cases children were not allowed to spontaneously move in classroom. Observation and results of questionnaire showed that the division of the class for rest activities and movement is desirable but this is not a common practice....
Incorporating two-year-old children into kindergarten and the specifics of working with this age group

The theme of this bachelor thesis is about the inclusion of two years old children into kindergarten. The theoretical part points out the developmental specifications of the older toddlers and younger school children including comparing the difference between them, their needs and individual developmental special features. The next part explains the definny conditions of education which is critical to include in the education of two years children into kindergarten. The practical part is the execution of elementary methodology for working with children in this age group including the focus on the entry of such children into kindergarten.

Thesis deal with topic of school gardens and their potencial for education as well as it discourse about different ways of their conception and aiming. History is mentioned from Jan Amos Komensky era up to the present. Altenative educational systems that mai relate with natural gardens are mentioned here, such as waldorf school and Marie Montesorri school . Relevant technical norms are mentioned in the thesis, specifically these they are connected with topic of school garden and their equipment and surfaces. Choosen elements of school gardens are briefly described. The thesis conduct a survey of current situation of school gardens in Czech republic. Analysis of content, way of realization and general situation was carried out in differ objects of school gardens as well as in Czech republic as in abroad. The model objects differs in parameters intentionally because of showing the individuality of every school garden and needs of individual and concrete solution.
