A comparison of social security systems and benefits provided by them in the Czech Republic and in selected European Union countries.
SEDLÁKOVÁ, Gabriela
The theme of my diploma thesis focuses, in a theoretical way, on a description of individual social security systems in chosen countries and on their comparison. When choosing the states I took into account their position in the European Union, or their relationship to the Czech Republic arising from the common history or current relations. The chosen states, whose social security system I compare on account of the system in the Czech Republic, are the Slovak Republic, France, Germany, Austria and the Great Britain. At each state I collected information concerning a general setting of the security system, its historical background and a current status. I described also details of the social security systems in individual states in this issue because of the fact, that an entitlement to benefits in most states is directly related to a participation in the social insurance. A basic legislation is also an integral part of an introduction to each state. For a better clarity of the processed topic I chose three basic target groups, to which the benefits from the social security system are primarily intended. These are families, people with disabilities and persons in social, resp. material need. The aim was to describe the system of benefits, which are for individual target groups provided from the social security system, conditions of the entitlement, eligible persons and the amount of paid benefits. Subsequently there was carried out, in combination with a discussion, a comparison which follows from the very nature of the topic of the diploma thesis. The common characteristic of all mentioned states, namely their affiliation with the European Union, was taken in consideration in the introduction. There I defined a position of the European Union to the social security. Furthermore, there was made a general comparison of individual systems related to a common variable of the social insurance. Then I compared individual benefits for the given target groups. All data in the diploma thesis are updated to January 1st, 2012. In case of the Great Britain and France the data are updated to the legislative change as of April 1st, 2012. I believe that the diploma thesis will be a high-quality source for an assessment of the social security system in the chosen states of the European Union.

BENDÍK, Lukáš
The impact of discussions about the necessity of a pension reform on creation of further security resources for the old age from the generation point of view is the title of my bachelor essay which is in its theoretical part focused on basic features of the current pension system in the Czech Republic and describes factors based on which a reform of this system is proposed. With regard to the orientation of this essay, the individual alternative possibilities of creating financial reserve for the old age are described in more detail here. The main objective of the essay was not to carry out an economic analysis of the impact of the upcoming pension reform on the state budget or on the economic situation of the population but to find a change in the financial behaviour of the population, mainly change in the way of the individual creating of a financial reserve for the old age. The bachelor essay brings findings and to a certain extent also inspiration in the area of creation of a reserve of financial resources for the old age. Conclusions of the performed research show a positive impact of the ongoing discussions on the creation of a financial reserve, which when created at an economic active age is a way how to mitigate the fall in the living standard at the pension age.
The impact of legislative changes to the system of social protection and unemployment in the Czech Republic since 2000
Štroblová, Hana ; Poláková, Olga (advisor) ; Hylmarová, Tereza (referee)
In 2006, there were changes in the social security system through the adoption of Act No. 110/2006 Coll., about subsistence level and living wage, Act No. 111/2006 Coll., On assistance in material need and Act No. 435/2004 Coll. on employment. The aim of the newly adopted laws was greater motivation of unemployed persons to find employment as soon as possible and thus to reduce the number of long-term unemployed individuals. At the same time the advantage of individuals who actively solve their situation compared to those who are passive recipients of benefits. With the adoption of these laws was to strengthen the incentive function of the social system, the transition from passive to active solidarity, impaired access to social benefits and avoiding the misuse of social benefits.

Attitude of the Public to the Application of the Social Solidarity Principle in the Czech Republic
POTŮČKOVÁ, Barbora
The aim of the thesis was to find out the view of common Czech Republic population on the principle of social and intergenerational solidarity implementation into the society and to find out the rate of confidence of citizens in the state social system. In the theoretical part of my thesis I deal with the principle of the social solidarity, the history of development of the social policy, the social security system and the care about the social security system. I focus on social solidarity target groups and the way of the social security funding, too. My research work is based on the technique of the questionnaire which was performed by questionning in the region of {\clqq} Vysočina land`` via e-mail. I think that I accomplished the stated targets and both hypotheses were proved. Results of the research work are that Czech citizens prove great deal of the social feeling. Conclusions resulted from the research work may serve as warning on the common social tuning and as an indicator of dearth in the social system which would be suitable to solve as the first one.
