Analysis of prosodic and spectral properties of voice communication in air traffic control
Simonides, Jakub ; Kopřiva, Tomáš (referee) ; Smékal, Zdeněk (advisor)
This thesis analyses the prosodic and spectral features of bi-directional air traffic control communication, describes how to communication was split to segments, according to the source, via transcription. After the splitting, the segments are deeply analyzed for their spectral and prosodic features. The analysis itself, focuses on the spectral aspects of intensity, fundamental frequency F0, slope and centroid. Additionally, tempo and voice activity detection data were measured, to support the spectral aspects as well. Because of the differences between the ATC controller’s and pilots’ spectral aspects, the direction of the communication can be automatically determined, with relatively high success percentage.
Approaches to signal correction and standardization in laser spectroscopy
Schiffer, Štěpán ; Hrdlička, Aleš (referee) ; Pořízka, Pavel (advisor)
The subject of this diploma thesis is the study of a sample position influence on results of an experiment in laser spectroscopy. The aim is to design an appropriate way for standardization of signal obtained at different conditions with the respect to its applicability for stand-off analysis. In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis there are the basics of LIBS method described together with the issues of stand-off experiment and both, basic and advanced approches for the processing and correction of obtained spectra. Also the experiment is designed here, which is used for the analysis of the sample inclination and distance influence on the detected signal. The choice of appropriate ways for the signal correction follows and their applicability and efficiency is then experimentally tested.
The electoral bias in the electoral system to the Chamber of deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic
Blaha, Aleš ; Říchová, Blanka (advisor) ; Brunclík, Miloš (referee)
This diploma thesis opens a new deep insight into the issue of electoral systems in Czech and Central European political science. The mid-point of this research is the electoral bias in the electoral system to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. The electoral bias is researched on all general elections from 1996 until 2013. To find out the electoral bias I apply mathematical method created and used by professor Galina Borisyuk from University of Plymouth. This method is based on several mathematical methods used by the American and the British political scientists for decades. However, the new method created by Galina Borisyuk is the most convenient for many reasons. Mainly this method isn't necessarily connected with plurality majority system, which was essential variable so far. Second key attribute of this method is the possibility to apply it on the three party systems, which is important variable for our political system in the Czech Republic as well. In analytical part of this research I apply the new mathematical method in all elections to the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. Ascertained results are analysed in the conclusion together that I have set the feasible ways to develop a new path the research of bias in the future.
Relationship between morphometric characteristics of the terrain and network analysis in GIS
Kufner, Jan ; Hudeček, Tomáš (advisor) ; Štych, Přemysl (referee)
The main objective of the diploma thesis is creation of methodology and automatization of calibration process of network graph based on the values of morphometric characteristics and motion vectors. The resulting morphometric values of the terrain have been detected on the basis of mathematical and cartographic methods for line course expression. The most accurate one has been used in GIS network analysis over the road network and digital terrain models, which were chosen as the most appropriate for this purpose. Relationship between morphometric values and values suitable for use in network analysis (speed, time, ...) has been studied using specific examples in appropriately selected territory with using selected vehicle, which was designated as a bicycle. The practical part for the verification of functionality of the suggested methodology has been compared with other models of accessibility, available web-map portals and route planners. The process of transport network evaluation based on selected parameters has been automated in Python programming language as a tool in ArcGIS software, which is attached to the diploma thesis. The Problems in Writing of Left-handed Pupils
HERWIGOVÁ, Kateřina
The thesis "The Problems in Writing of Left-handed Pupils" is focused on the dificulties in the first steps of writing of left-handed children in primary schools. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretic part we deal with the laterality and the left-handness in general. Further we deal with the development of left-handness in the history and nowadays and first of all with the development of motor skills of the left-handed children in the preschool age. The next aim is to chart the difficulties in the preschool period and the potencional problems in writing. The main part of our thesis is focused on the correct methodological help with writing in the first class in primary schools. The other part of our thesis is practical part. In this part we focus on the analysis of the writing edacation for the left-handed pupils in the first classes in the schools in Central Bohemian Region. We studied the quantity of the left-handed boys and the left-handed girls, the correct holding of writing tools, the slope of paper, the slope of letters, the correct sitting, the using of ergonomic tools and the using of pens or pencils.
