Teaching Sex Education in Selected Czech Schools from the Perspective of Pupils and Their Teachers

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of sex education in the context of school education. The theoretical part of the thesis presents a general view into the teaching of sex education with an emphasis on the prevention of risky behaviour of adolescents. The main aim of the thesis was to map the teaching of sex education in two selected schools. The research methods of data collection were two - a questionnaire survey designed for the selected students (101 respondents) and an interview for the teachers who teach sex education at the selected schools (two teachers). The results of the survey reflect the respondents' experiences of teaching sex education in these schools, their personal views and suggestions, which were used to develop recommendations for practice. In both selected schools, the teaching of sex education is included only towards the end of compulsory schooling. At the selected primary school, its topics are taught in the subject of science, at the selected secondary school in the subject of "civic education". 85.7 % of the respondents of the selected primary school stated that they were divided into groups according to gender during sex education, while 84.4 % of the respondents of the selected secondary school stated that they were not divided. Prevention of high-risk behaviour at school

The bachelor's thesis deals with risk behaviour among children in primary schools, prevention of this behaviour, and especially with the role of the school methodist of prevention. The work is divided into two parts, namely the theoretical part and the practical part. The theoretical part is devoted to risk behaviour in general and also to selected types of risk behaviour. Other parts inform about the prevention of risk behaviour, its methods and implementation in primary schools, or lower levels of grammar schools. The bachelor's thesis also focuses on the basic terminology of prevention methodology, both school and, for example, district or regional methodist of prevention or the methodist of prevention in pedagogical-psychological counselling service. The last chapter deals with school counselling workplaces and their division. The practical part of the bachelor's thesis deals with the analysis of interviews with the methodists of prevention, their experience, their subjective point of view at this profession etc. The aim of the work is to focus on issues that relate primarily to conditions under which prevention is implemented in schools.
Syndrome of problem behavior in adolescence

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of syndrome of risk behaviour in adolescence. The theoretical part is focused on the definition of adolescence, the definition of the concept of risk behavior, and especially on individual areas of risk behavior in adolescence, specifically substance abuse, negative phenomena in the field of psychosocial development and risk behavior in the reproductive area. The bachelor thesis also includes risk and protective factors influencing the emergence of risky behavior and methods of prevention. The practical part of the bachelor thesis is based on questionnaires, for students from different types of secondary schools focused on the occurrence and form of risky behavior, when a quantitative evaluation is applied. It also includes an analysis of the effectiveness and focus of primary prevention of risky behavior at selected secondary schools.
Adaptation school courses in terms of prevention of risk behavior

The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis deals with terminology connected to adaptation school courses, description of relationships between people in groups and it introduces school adaptation courses in detail. It also mentions issue of risky behaviour and its prevention. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to find out participants' views on the importance of adaptation courses and on setting goals before adaptation courses by using semi-structured interviews. Another important goal of the thesis is to find out how participants perceive connection of adaptation courses with elements of prevention of risky behaviour. Finally, the participants' experiences with different types of reflection are presented. A method of qualitative research was used in the thesis, where a total of 5 respondents from various primary schools and grammar schools participated and answered 12 questions. The results of the research mostly correspond with the professional literature, but the participants also present a view from a different perspective at some points.
Attitudes of university students to selected forms of risk behavior

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to detect the knowledge and the mindsets of the students at the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice to this issue. In the theoretical part, the bachelor thesis concentrates on the characteristics of the chosen types of risk behaviour, which presently occurs among university students. Concretely, it describes the experimentation with addictive substances, various addictions, eating disorders, adrenaline sports, hazard games, et cetera. The thesis characterises the utterances of risk behaviour, the causes of the onset, and factors, such as adolescence, heredity, family environment, the environment of an individual, and peer pressure. The theoretical part deals with the possible prevention of risk behaviour. In the final part, there are defined attitudes and two development periods, such as adolescence and the period of young adulthood. The practical part of the bachelor thesis consists of the quantitative survey. The chosen type of the survey is interviewing via questionary of very own construction. The questionnaire is sent to respondents via e-mail. To the data processing of respondents is used a program called Microsoft Excel. The results demonstrated a relatively high level of awareness of students about risk behaviour. Differences between younger and older respondents indicate a relatively low change in attitudes to selected forms of risk behaviour
Problem behaviours, life concepts, expectations and reality trough the eyes of girls from an Institutional Treatment Institute for Youth

The topics of this bachelor thesis are educational problems, life ideas and reality from the perspective of girls in an educational and detention institution. The aim of the thesis is description of life situation, mapping of educational problems, and life ideas from the view of girls placed in the certain educational and detention institution and even after their departure - by using the qualitative research. The theoretical part is focused on the basic characteristics of risk behaviour in children and young people, on the factors increasing the probability of behavioural disorder, clas-sification of behavioural disorders, and aggression in children and the youth. The next chapter of the theoretical part is about the characteristics of the institutional nurture, educational and detention institutions in the Czech Republic, and the structure of the concrete educational and detention institution, where the research took place. In the practical part, the case studies of several girls are processed, including the input anamnesis. It is recorded the girls' behavioural development at the time of their place-ment in the educational and detention institution, next, their departure from the institu-tional nurture, and their further life after leaving the educational and detention institu-tion and how they evaluate the impacts on their lifes in the institutional nurture for the current reality. Within the qualitative research investigation, in the practical part, they are used the methods of data acquisition by semi-structured interviews, the analysis of the written communication and the study of the girls' personal documents. The theoretical part is based on the proffesional literature, laws and available statistics.
Prevention of risk behaviour at a chosen primary school

This bachelor thesis deals with problematics of risk behaviour occurring at primary schools and its possible means of prevention. The thesis consists of two main parts, the theoretical one and the practical one. The theoretical part deals with characteristics of chosen types of risk behaviour and means of prevention, then it defines concrete preventive programs of schools and informs about its agents. The practical part of the bachelor thesis deals with prevention of risk behaviour of pupils at a chosen primary school. It presents the quantitative and qualitative survey and the results in the domains of the evaluation of completed prevention of risk behaviour and the perception of pupils and teachers on those programs. The target of the qualitative survey is also to present the viewpoint of teachers on the universal importance of prevention and effectivity of various preventive activities. The interview further detects all the possible means of prevention and ways to handle risk behaviour at the chosen primary school. In the last part of the bachelor thesis is formulated a recommendation for the realization of prevention at the chosen primary school, where the survey took place.
