Design of lightning protection system for a historical building

The bachelor thesis deals with the problem of protection against atmospheric overvoltage for a historical building. The historical object is a dilapidated castle, whose investor will try to renovate or rebuild the castle in the future. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to introduce the issue and then to create project documentation for the implementation of the lightning protection system. The first theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the basic introduction to surge protection, theoretical analysis and research of standards on the issue of internal and external surge protection. The second theoretical part is devoted to the issue of risk management and its analysis according to the applicable standards, including the determination of the risk of the object under consideration. In the first practical part, drawings of the roof plan and front/rear and side views were created. In the second practical part, a lightning protection design was created for the object. In the third practical part, a schematic for the surge protection design, a lightning protection budget and a technical report were created.

Prevention and risk management of OSH risks

This diploma thesis primary focus is on the analysis and management of workplace safety and health hazards. Current situation is examined through the perspective od Czech and EU legislation. The standards augmenting legal obligations provide a structured framework for the implementation and maintenance of an effective OHS management system. This research employs particular techniques since it is vital to identify and assess workplace risks and hazards in relation to OHS. The practical section of the thesis puts these methods to use by identifying a variety of work-related hazards using a methodical approach for risk identification and evaluation. For the most critical hazards, measures are proposed to either eliminate or mitigate them.

By combining economic concepts with practical applications in statistics and programming, the study constructs an accessible platform using Python, particularly through various libraries, to support informed investment decisions. It concludes that these tools significantly improve the ability of inexperienced investors to construct, understand and manage their portfolios, highlighting the potential for expanding their use for educational purposes within a financial education environment.

It summarizes the current findings in various areas of life both in the Czech Republic and abroad, and presents important findings from individual areas and the extent of their accessibility for independent living. It outlines specific abilities and skills that can be easily acquired by people with Down syndrome compared to those who are more challenging or even impossible.

Risk Management in the Ex-Ante Phase of Construction Investment Projects

Cílem této práce je vytvořit specifický registr rizik a vyhodnotit kvalitativní a citlivostní analýzu rizik posuzovaných v ex-ante fázi investičních projektů výstavby. Výzkumným úkolem je identifikovat a následně ověřit korelace a interakce mezi působením jednotlivých rizikových faktorů při hodnocení ekonomické efektivnosti projektů. V každé fázi výstavby jsou určitá rizika, která je třeba vzít v úvahu, fáze budou rozděleny na části a související činnosti, výzkum rizik při investování do stavebních projektů bude proveden na vzorcích výzkumných projektů v různých fázích, různé geografické poloze a různé velikosti investice. V této práci je popsáno řízení rizik a analýza rizik pomocí analýzy citlivosti, SWOT analýzy a po analýzách je dokončen registr rizik pro rizika a jeho zmírňující opatření. Autoři se zaměřují na finanční a environmentální rizika při investování do výstavby skladových a výrobních haly.

Project management of highway repair

The diploma thesis deals with the project of repairing of the motorway section and designes the most suitable construction variant. The aim of this work is to select the most suitable variant of repair of the highway section. Consequently to propose a method for reducing possible risks. The diploma thesis contains three variants of construction of the motorway, the shortest variant 3 was selected from all. The option 3 has the lowest cost and uses resources of associated companies most effectively. For this variant was necessary to reduce the potential risks - the risk connected with the completion before the winter technological break. The method of compression and acceleration was used to eliminate the risk. The selection was made on the basis of an economic evaluation of the construction company, especially the financial situation. According to financial indicators was found that the company is in a suitable financial situation for the project to repair the highway section.

Modelling and Management of Project Portfolio

This thesis is dedicated to modeling and management of project portfolio. In the first part, project is specified, along with methods for its managing. Next part describes the project portfolio, its managing and aspects that affect it. Thesis continues with analysis and design of software prototype capable of managing project portfolios. Most suitable methods are selected for project analysis. Designed prototype is then implemented and solution is described in the thesis. Last part of the work is user testing, which pointed out the functionality and usability of created prototype.
