Claw-pole automotive alternator design.
Szekeres, Vojtech ; Mach, Martin (referee) ; Hájek, Vítězslav (advisor)
The thesis deals with the alternators used in passenger cars, their desing, function and typical behaviours and characteristics and design. Alternators are specific with the trapezoidal shape of rotor poles, which produce a waveform similar to a square wave instead of a sinusoid. This is more desirable for simple rectification to direct current, which is used in the electrical distribution system of automobiles. Because of the shape of the poles, these alternators are also called the claw-pole. The design itself consists of creating an alternator in Ansys Maxwell software in compliance with real measured alternator. The results are compared numerically and also graphically.
A small three phase induction motor
Klíma, Petr ; Cipín, Radoslav (referee) ; Mach, Martin (advisor)
The main object of this bachelor thesis is to determine the parameters of the induction motor with an output of 155 W. Three ways of obtaining the parameters were chosen. Analytical calculation according to available literature, calculation in RMxprt program and laboratory measurement of the motor. For a better comparison of analytical calculations, two literary sources were chosen according to which the calculation was performed. Individual calculations and values obtained by them are included in the thesis. A comparison of the results obtained by individual methods is performed.
Design of high speed permanent magnet synchronous machine
Přibyl, Daniel ; Knebl, Ladislav (referee) ; Ondrůšek, Čestmír (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis is focused on problematic of synchronous machines with permanent magnets. In this thesis is described the principle of function and design solution of the machine. Furthermore it deals with stator winding, possibility of placing magnets on the rotor and used types of permanent magnets. In the part of solution of the assignment of work is made design of synchronous machine with permanent magnets with output 1,5 MW and rated speed 15000 rpm. The machine is designed with inner rotor and magnets placed on surface. The solution includes design of dimensions of stator including design of slot, design of winding and design of permanent magnet. The whole analytical design was finally compared with the results of the analysis in the RMxprt program. For machine was calculated 2D magnetic field by finite element method in Ansys Maxwell. Finally was calculated critical speed.
Possibilities of improving efficiency of high-speed electrical machine
Nevrzal, Filip ; Mach, Martin (referee) ; Klíma, Jiří (advisor)
First part of this bachelor´s thesis briefly presents basic construction and principle of induction machine, distribution and description of individual losses. In the next part, there is a close look at the measurement of given machine. Next, there is a description of making a model in RMxprt and subsequent comparison of simulated data and characteristics to measured data. Last part describes and compares proposed changes of this motor simulated in RMxprt.
Modeling of torque-speed characteristics of induction motor
Michalík, Marek ; Chrobák, Petr (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
This master thesis deals in first part with basic theory of an induction motor and principle of function. It also includes theory about higher harmonics of magnetic field and how asynchronous and synchronous torques are created. Various ways how to decrease effect of these torques are suggested. These findings are later applied in practical analytical calculation in second part, in which all parameters of motor are calculated from given dimensions of motor from technical documentation. This is done for basic and higher harmonics. After that a model of this motor was created in RMxprt program, which also calculated all parameters of this motor and created torque characteristic. This motor was also modelled in ANSYS Maxwell 2D. Additional simulations for finding out influence of harmonics on torque characteristic were also done in this software. Torque characteristic of motor was also practically measured in laboratory. All results were compared and evaluated.
Design of 3 MW high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor
Bořil, Michal ; Bárta, Jan (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
The thesis theme is the design of 3 MW high-speed permanent magnet synchronous motor. The work is divided into several parts, and contains the information given on the topic. The first part lists trends and new technologies of high-speed electric machines, and the issues and construction of high-speed synchronous machines are also listed here. In the second part, the machine is analytically designed from the specified values, which is then modelled in the RMxprt program. In the penultimate part, the engine is simulated by programs that are included in the ANSYS Electronics Desktop package, they are RMxprt and Maxwell. The modified engine model in RMxprt is simulated using defined formulas and then converted to Maxwell 2D, where the engine is simulated using the finite element method. In the last part, the results from the analytical calculation are compared with other high-speed machines. In addition, the results of simulations from RMxprt and Maxwell were compared in the last part.
7,5 kW induction machine.
Hemzal, Martin ; Janda, Marcel (referee) ; Mach, Martin (advisor)
Bachelor thesis Induction motor 7,5 kW deals with analytic design of induction motor. The project is structured into 6parts. First part is about itroduction to a problem. The second part shortly analyses theory of induction motor. The next part deals with analytic calculation. In the next part the design is checked in the RMxprt module. In the conclusion both analytic calculation and RMxprt results are compared.
Optimization of magnetic circuit of induction motor for frequency up to 210 Hz
Binek, Martin ; Cipín, Radoslav (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
This master’s thesis first deals with the theory concerning induction motor. It briefly desbribes the construction of three-phase induction motors, the generation of tractive force, power flow with loss distribution and also torque characteristic. In the next part an analytical calculation of the parameters of equivalent circuit for an existing induction motor with known dimensions is performed. After the calculation it is possible to find out the rated parameters of the motor, which makes it possible to further compare results with the values obtained by other methods. The next step was to create a model of the motor in RMxprt program, which is later also translated to ANSYS Maxwell 2D model. Simulations were carried out in both interfaces. As the next step the results obtained by the three methods are compared with measured values and also evaluated. The final part of the thesis focuses on the optimization of the magnetic circuit for higher frequencies. Efficiency of the modified induction motor is examined for higher frequencies using RMxprt Optimetrics and this procedure is performed for both default and alternative electrical steel materials.

This thesis deals with electromagnetic design of synchronous generator with permanent magnets. The aim of this work is verify already made prototype of generator, which after testing has problem with warming of permanent magnets and winding. The work includes electromagnetic design of the machine, simulation through RMxprt and comparison with prototype of generator. The thesis includes also simulations operating conditions through Maxwell 2D and Maxwell 3D.
Efficiency Improvement of Three Phase Induction Motor
Žák, Ondřej ; Mach, Martin (referee) ; Vítek, Ondřej (advisor)
This bacelor thesis looks into problematics of efficiency of induction elektromotors. Due to present tendence of permanently encreasing efficiency, this topic is very actual. How to encrease efficiency but not to encrease material and production cost too much? This is the daily question of every producer of induction elektromotors. This thesis has a target to bring closer understanding of this problematics and describe alternatives, which is possible to follow. On choosen elektromotor produced by ATAS elektromotory Náchod a.s. is made an comparison of analytic calculate, calculate of software RMxprt and Maxwell 2D and real measuring, which refes about limits of individual calculatin methods. Then the design of changes with new calculate is provided and comparison of all results.
