The Image of Eastern Jew in 20th Century Czech Jewish Journals (till 1938)

This thesis focuses on the image of an Eastern Jew in Czech-Jewish and Zionist journals from 1910 to 1925 and its position in the identity of these groups. The analysis is based on fictional texts (both translations and originally Czech ones) with Eastern Jewish characters, which (considering their placement in official journals of the Czech-Jewish and Zionist institutions) presented a fictional world acceptable for the movement's ideology and co-created the image of Eastern Jew in their followers' collective memory. A description of the most frequent features of Eastern Jewish characters is supplemented by historical context and the journals' non-literary articles. The bachelor thesis deals with socially focused prose of writer Karel Nový in 20s and 30s of the 20th century. The first part is devoted to life and work of Karel Nový in the context of this time. Following chapters are focused on the four defined books - Městečko Raňkov, Samota Křešín, Peníze a Chceme žít. The key area of interest is the form of the space and conception of characters in these books. The aim of this work is to remind these books and to define their basic characteristics in comparison to one other.

The first part of this thesis is about a prose writings of this author, second part is talking about the novel Men in Offside and the third major part is focused on contemporary literature criticism to this novel. The aim of this thesis is to introduce this author who wrote Men in Offside and who pictured lives of the football fans in the thirties of the twenty century. Rozdíly mezi západními a japonskými role-playing hrami ilustrují, jak kulturní aspekty ovlivňují proces vývoje her. Teoretická sekce práce se zaměřuje na základní principy japonského umění, jeho formy a estetiku, což jsou faktory, které stojí za současnou japonskou herní tvorbou. Je popsán jedinečný charakter japonských her ve srovnání s hrami v západním stylu, stejně jako důvody vedoucí k těmto rozdílům. Tři RPG herní tituly jsou porovnány z hlediska uživatelského rozhraní, grafického designu a vlastností postav.

The diploma thesis deals with theme of racism and its narrative representation in art. It consists of three main parts. The first part of thesis defines racism and explains essential themes and concepts which bear on racism. It also briefly points out the historical development of racism. In the second part thesis deals with the narratology as theory of narrative. It explains what the story is and shows the main parts of each story - event, character, environment. In the third and last part of thesis, it focuses on analysis of selected film and literary stories where is rasism the important topic. It focuses on the way of picture the racism in narrative structure and its impact on characters and human society. That part describes storyline or characters related to racism.

The aim of the diploma thesis World of novels by Daniela Hodrová is through the author's novels world to analyze her very specific poetics, which is to a large extent also influenced by a professional activities in the field of literary science. Own scientific work is based on the method of repeated readings of individual pieces of fiction, which are in fact only one part of the endless life novel. Intense reading experience is then confronted with author's theoretical works. Although the subject is based on the bachelor thesis, all the facts have been processed completely original approach. World of author's novels is analyzed through the gateway of own reader's experience and the dedication of the individual works and of the whole creation, which in this concept significantly address the loss of the family, but in the context of therapy in the form of writing novels herself can't accept, in ultimately resulting it is for her more hurtful.
Reading for women in the Lada magazine

The diploma thesis deals with the profile of fiction published in the magazine Lada on the turn of the nineteenth century into the twentieth. The chosen representative sample of six volumes stretching over the period of twenty years was thoroughly analyzed, focusing on the most important aspects of the individual prosaic contributions, which are the following: the theme, both the main and the supporting characters, the plots, the time and space dimension of the stories, the autor's style, the tuning of proses and their belonging to different artistic movements. Another perspective of interest to this project is the author's background, its changes over time and its influence on the overall orientation and appearance of the magazine, with the overall characteristics of it also included. The deeper, intellectual background reflected in the individual proses is also discussed. Given the fact that the publishing timeline extends over two different historical epochs, this final thesis strives to find answers to the question of to which extent the author's thinking was influenced by the historically social context, i.e. to what degree the authors adopt the modern, progressive ideas of the newly shaping society of the twentieth century, and conversely, to what extent both their opinions and thinking are...

Thesis Life and works of Viktor Kamil Jeřábek in the shadow of more famous writers deals with the personality, career and literary works of a teacher and a writer Viktor Kamil Jeřábek through his memoirs and published as well as archived works. The second part compares Jeřábek's prose works concerning Litomyšl with the works of Alois Jirásek and Alois Vojtěch Šmilovský, all of which are thematically similar.
