The History of Physical Education and Sport in Příbram
DOLEŽAL, Václav
This bachelor thesis is about the history and current situation of Physical education and sport in the city of Příbram. Primarily it is about the development of individual physical education associations during their activities from the beginning until now. In this thesis I deal with all important sport sections in Příbram. The development of sport is divided into sub-stages according to important facts of historical phases of our country. This work consists of four historical parts. The first part deals with the brief history of our city, the second one describes activities of the sport team Sokol and first sport teams from their foundation to the year 1945. The third part describes the period after the second world war to the year 1989, so called Velvet Revolution. This part is about beginning and continuing individual sport units, sports and organizations in Příbram. The fourth part focuses on the foundation and next progression of the most important sport teams between 1989 - 2018. The oldest facts are taken from preserved cronicles, archive materials of individual sport teams, literature and period articles. The information of the third and fourth parts also contain interesting dialogues with witnesses about the establishment of sport units and sectional sport events.
Chapters from Ladislav Malý's Life (1862-1956)
SLADKOVSKÁ, Barbora
The main aim of this thesis is to describe the personality and life of Ladislav Malý (1862-1956), a teacher, writer, traveller and amateur national historian, who put forward the foundation of the Museum of Příbram. The thesis also tries to situate Ladislav Malý's life into the context of the era and to assess his importance in the history of Příbram, the Příbram region and the Habsburg monarchy, respectively the Czechoslovak Republic. The third task of the thesis is to assess if Ladislav Malý fits in this context and whether or not, in some way, he is out of it. The story about Ladislav Malý is not strictly chronological. As the title "Chapters from Ladislav Malý's Life" sais, the individual aspects of his life (teacher's work, writing, traveling, etc.) are described separately to make them easier to understand and to place them in the overall picture of the era of second half of the 19th century till the middle of the 20th century.

Leisure time sports activities of older school-age children in Příbram
Malá, Daniela ; Kašpar, Ladislav (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to explore sports activities of older school-age children in Příbram. It lists local sports clubs which are available to children and examines their history and the quality of the services they offer. A survey was conducted in order to determine the percentage of older school-age students actively engaging in sports, which sports club they chose, and why. The students who don't participate in sport activities were questioned on whether it's because of an absence of a preferred sport in Příbram or due to other reasons, e.g. lack of interest. Key words Příbram, sports activities, older school-age children , sports clubs, leisure time, sport
Role of the selenium in the late hydrothermal phase of the Příbram uranium region
Škácha, Pavel ; Goliáš, Viktor (advisor) ; Drábek, Milan (referee) ; Makovický, Emil (referee)
Příbram uranium and base-metal district is the most important vein uranium district in the Czech Republic. The main ore was represented by uraninite there and the occurrences of selenium mineralization are directly connected to it. The presence of selenides was not confirmed during the mining activities. Major development of the uranium-carbonate mineralization was found in the Bytíz deposit in the central part of the uranium district. All known occurrences of selenides have been found from this area only so far. Antimonselite, athabascaite, bellidoite (?), berzelianite, brodtkorbite, bukovite, clausthalite, dzharkenite, eskebornite, eucairite, giraudite, hakite, cadmoselite, klockmannite, naumannite, permingeatite, sabatierite, tiemannite and umangite, as well as the new unnamed selenium analogue of chalcostibite were newly identified from the dump material from the shafts No. 16 and 11A. The extremely Hg-rich hakite, which contains up to 30 wt.% of Hg, is the most remarkable mineral from the tetrahedrite group of minerals. The pertinence of the Hg-hakite was verified by means of the transmission electron microscopy. Uncommon recently formed supergene selenium association is represented by molybdomenite, munakataite and piretite. A large scale of associated minerals was found in association with...
The Wallenfels family and other Jews from Příbram during World War II
Doležalová, Kristýna ; Ebelová, Ivana (advisor) ; Smolová, Věra (referee)
This bachelor's thesis concentrates on the Jewish population in Příbram and specifically the Wallenfels family. The first part looks generally into at the development of the city of Příbram from many aspects. The second part is a guide to the history of the local Jewish population from their humble beginnings, throughout the period when they were forced from the mining towns in 1568 until the present day. Special focus has been placed on World War II and its impact on the local Jewish community. The last part is devoted to the Wallenfels family from when the first members arrived in Příbram, throughout the Holocaust in the Second World War and continues with a detailed history of the family up until 2015. The Wallenfels family history is interesting not only because of their story, but also because it typifies Jewish families in Czechoslovakia during that period.
The Progress of Play-acting in Příbram. From Amateur Endeavours to Professional Scene.
Pruchová, Tereza ; Šouša, Jiří (advisor) ; Smolová, Věra (referee)

The second part of the work covers the beginning and later destiny of the profes-sional scene in Příbram. For a better idea on the situation of Příbram theatre groups a general development of both the amateur and the professional theatre is drawn up for comparison. Appendix to the work helps the reader to gain a better image of the atmosphere and circum- stances of the development of play-acting in Příbram from the second half of the 19th century till today. Contaminant binding to colloids in water from a mining/smelting area
Walter, Dominik ; Ettler, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Faimon, Jiří (referee)
This study deals with the association of trace elements with colloids and particles in surface waters and groundwaters of mining and smelting district of Příbram. Colloids were studied using combination of cascade filtration a tangential flow ultrafiltration method to separate individual colloid fractions. Colloids were separated by filtration membranes with nominal pore size 0,8 μm, 0,45 μm, 0,1 μm, 100 kDa, and 5 kDa. Water samples were analyzed using ICP-OES, ICP-MS and HPLC. The data were used for thermodynamic modeling using PHREEQC-2 programme. The results show that major and trace elements can be divided into several groups, based on their abundance in individual size fractions. Most elements dominate in fraction of truly dissolved matter as dissociated ions (< 5 kDa), maximum concentration in colloid fraction is 5-20 % and almost exclusively in fraction 5 kDa - 100 kDa. Gradual decrease of concentration in all fractions at low ionic strength (1,2 mmol/l) was observed in case of elements such as As, Co, Cr, Si, Sb and U. Gradual decrease of concentration in several samples was observed for Cd, Fe, Pb, Mn and Zn. Dominant binding to colloids and particles in surface waters was observed for Fe and Pb, where these fractions accounted for over 90 %. The main factor influencing colloid...
Musical Ensembles in Příbram
BALOUNOVÁ, Michaela
My bachelor thesis consists of the history and present-day of several music ensembles which come from the town of Příbram. In the past, Příbram was one of the main centres of the silver mining industry in the Czech Republic, and in the 20th century it was one of the places of intensive uranium extraction. Mining activities in Příbram had an impact on the town settlement and had created specific circumstances for the local cultural life. The situation has been analogical in the area of Svatá Hora. Despite the fact that mining had been active until the 1990s, Příbram has remained one of the most important cultural centres of the Central Bohemian Region. This is proved by the fact that there are many music ensembles, such as the social and temple orchestras, which are still actively playing. This is what makes the cultural and social life of this town so unique.
