Iran-contra affair and its impact on the Reagan administration

Bachelor thesis is about Iran-Contra Affair which was the biggest political scandal in 80s in the United States of America and cast a shadow not only on President Ronald Reagan but on his Administration as well. National Security Council (NSC) and C.I.A. with the consent of the President were selling TOW and HAWK missiles to Iran to open a diplomatic relationship. But mainly USA wanted a release of American citizens held hostage in Lebanon by Hezbollah. Some NSC members from their own initiative were transferring money from arms transactions to Nicaraguan fighters against regime called contras. As soon as all those information came public President ordered to start an investigation to find out if there were any laws broken. Independent Commissions also tried to find out how the President was involved in this scandal. The first chapter of this thesis deals with President Reagan before and after presidential elections and his two terms in office. Second and third chapter are focusing on topics related to the affair - background and situation in Nicaragua and Iran. Fourth chapter analyzes the affair itself and fifth chapter is revealing results and consequences of the scandal in USA.
The impact of the United States of America in Nicaragua in 80's of the 20th century

The Bachelor thesis "The impact of the United States of America in Nicaragua in 80's of the 20th century"deals with actions of the Reagan's administration in this state of the Central America in the years 1981 - 1988 during his presidential mandate. The bachelor thesis is supposed to be the case study of the changing understanding of the concept of non-intervention in time. It is not only the description of events, but also the evaluation from the point of view of the international law and the research of the dierences in opinions of the authors as of the scientic literature, so of the press. This is followed by theanalysis of the arguments of supporters and critics of the Reagan's policy. The thesis is basicly divided into four parts. The rst one is about the terms, which are related to the topics of the thesis and are stipulated in the international law. The following chapter provides a basic overview of events in Nicaragua in the 80's of the past century. The third part examines various arguments considered by authors as consider important, with regard to the turning point - the end of the Cold War. The nal chapter analyses the reasons of the authors of the third chapter in relation to the timeline, but also to the legal documents from the rst part.
The Position of Selected Central American Countries in the World Economy

The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyse position of selected Central American countries in the world economy. Selected countries are Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama. The thesis is divided into five main chapters. The first chapter provides general information about Central America. The second, third a fourth chapter characterize general and economic information, international trade, foreign direct investments and future possibilities and perspectives of selected countries. In the last part I describe socioeconomic comparison of selected countries.
The economic issue of the mainland countries of Central America

The objective of this work is to analyse economic situation of mainland of Central America. The work is divided into three parts. The first part defines the term "mainland of Central America" and characterizes the mainland of Central America in whole taking in view demographics and economic issues. The second part analyses in detail various countries of the region. Brief general characteristics, strengths, weaknesses of individual countries and highlights of the most important current events are made for each country. The third part is a result of analysis of previous sections. It describes issue of foreign companies entering the markets in mainland of Central America.
Analysis of Entry Possibilities for Czech Investors to the Nicaraguan Market

In this time of the oversaturated market, every company that doesn't want to focus only on domestic market has to start thinking about expanding abroad. But there is not enough information about every country and Nicaragua belongs to that group of unknown countries. The aim of this thesis is to make it easier for investors to decide whether to enter their market or not or at least drag their attention to Nicaragua. This thesis is divided into 5 main chapters -- general information about the country and its inhabitants, the second chapter provides the information about the economy and financial situation of the country, third and fourth chapter are dedicated to distinctiveness of the Nicaraguan culture and business. The last chapter shows 3 different analyses of the market that are also applied to the Nicaraguan market.

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to supply a comprehensive characteristic of Nicaragua. I tried to put a certain whole together which would enable to create a further notion of Nicaraguan corporate environment and local business and cultural specialities. The introductory part contains the basic information about the country. In the next chapter, I attend to economic and political situation in the country, investment climate and also the problems which a Nicaraguan market has to face. The cultural specialities describe the basic features of Nicaragua culture and the chapter Business specialities supplies information important for successful negotiation in Nicaragua. The thesis also contains the analysis of mutual business co-operation between the Czech Republic and Nicaragua.
Commercial and cultural distinctiveness of Nicaragua

Nicaragua is one of the last countries without any intervention of European business. To enable the entrance to this market, to make the procedure of entrance correctly, the entrepreneur has to know how to deal with different culture and has to have the information about the culture and its specifics. After reading this thesis he will be well prepared. The text of the thesis is divided into three main parts -- basic data, where are mentioned basic geographic and demographic specifications, cultural distinctiveness describing basic features of Nicaraguan culture and in the third part dedicated to commercial distinctiveness where basic geographic and cultural features are applied on the way how to do a business in this Latin American country.
