Plachá, Lenka ; Květoňová, Lea (advisor) ; Šumníková, Pavlína (referee)
The diploma thesis on the topic "How sibling constellations can be affected by health disadvantage" deals with mapping the influence of living with a sibling with a disability and the effect of the family environment and relationships on intact siblings in the field of career choice and attitudes towards planning one's own parenthood. Furthermore, it also examines the possible influence of the gender of the intact sibling on the aforementioned areas. The aim of the research investigation was therefore to find out whether intact siblings in adulthood tend to work in helping professions, specifically whether living with a sibling with a disadvantage led them to choose a profession with persons with disabilities and also whether it influenced their attitude towards their own parenting. Qualitative research was used for the investigation, specifically the design elements of grounded theory. An in-depth, semi-structured interview with five respondents, adult siblings of persons with various types of health handicaps (autism spectrum disorders, Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy) was used to obtain data. The interviews were analyzed using open coding. The answers to the research questions are documented by verbatim citations of respondents' answers in individual categories. Since only elements of grounded...
The Need for Further Specialized Education of Social Workers
BABICKÁ, Veronika
Further education is an integral part of the performance of social workers. This thesis aims to map the attitude of social workers towards the need for further education within the specialization. This bachelor thesis uses a qualitative research strategy and the questioning method for data collection, i.e., a semi-structured interview. We used an open-coding process for data assessment. After the open coding process, we created the categories. The research sample consisted of social workers practicing in a relief service primarily designated for people with mental disabilities or those with combined disabilities where mental disability appears as associated health impairment, within the South Bohemian region. The research showed that all communication partners were supported in further education in at least the statutory 24 hours of further compulsory education per year. The importance of educational activities is perceived primarily in up-to-date information, establishing new contacts, personal development, and increasing the quality of the services or mental hygiene. Social workers' most frequently completed educational activities working with mentally disabled adults in the relief service include the Sexuality of people with disabilities or Restrictive measures and education focused on communication with clients. The research results provide insight into the further education of social workers and can serve as feedback to the organizations where the research was conducted.

HRÁDKOVÁ, Denisa
The bachelor thesis is titled "Care for patient with mental disabilities from the perspective of healthcare worker in a social care facility". The first aim was to map the application of healthcare workers' competencies within social facilities. The second aim was to identify the needs of patients with mental disabilities in a selected social facility. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and an empirical part. In the theoretical part, the definition, etiology, symptoms, diagnosis, and degrees of mental disability are described. This part also includes the bio-psycho-social-spiritual needs of patients and addresses the provision of healthcare, the duties of healthcare personnel, and the social facility itself. The empirical part was processed through qualitative research using semi-structured interviews. The research sample consisted of nine nurses working in selected social facilities. To achieve the set objectives, seven research questions were created. In the qualitative research investigation of this bachelor thesis, it was found that nurses in social facilities do not have the competence to perform intravenous therapy. Their competencies are applied in administering oral medications and wound care. Furthermore, from the conducted interviews with the nurses, it was revealed that all of the bio-psycho-social-spiritual needs of patients are adequately met in social facilities. The output of the study is an informational material intended for the general public, nurses working with mentally disabled individuals, student education, and family members of persons with disabilities. Additionally, the thesis will serve as a basis for further possible quantitative research that would verify the data obtained or as a source of information in the reconstruction of health and social facility standards.
