Employment of persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic

Approximately every tenth citizen in the Czech Republic suffers from a disability. Persons with disabilities form a vulnerable group in the labour market, which is caused mainly by a lower level of their education. Therefore, it is important that legislation protects the disabled persons and encourages employers to their employment. Employing of disabled people is in the interest of entire society and also has an integrative dimension. The main objective of this thesis is to assess comprehensively the legal regulation of the employment of persons with disabilities in the Czech Republic, to reflect recent amendments to applicable legislation and simultaneously to verify the premise that these regulations are satisfactory and feasible in practice. The thesis consists of four parts. The first part focuses on the basic definitions and states in which aspects some similar terms are identical or different. Special attention is paid to the definition of a "disabled person" in all its major forms. Legislation of disability and disability pension in the Czech Republic

1 Resume Legislation of disability and disability pension in the Czech Republic The purpose of my thesis is to analyse the Czech legislation of disability pension and its conditions of entitlement, and then to compare them with the situation in selected states in the European Union. I have chosen this particular topic, because a material security of disabled persons is an essential part of legislation in every developed country. This thesis is composed of seven chapters; each of them is divided into several subchapters. The first chapter characterises the pension scheme and its principles. There are explained the basic features of pension insurance, such as personal scope, period of insurance and financing. This chapter also lists benefits paid of pension insurance in the Czech Republic. The second chapter outlines the development of material security of disabled persons during previous centuries. It focuses on responsibility for persons unable to work, which has transferred from church to villages and later to state. Next chapter defines the term invalidity and points out several different looks at the concept of it. This chapter also includes the international definition formed by the World health organization. Process and rate of disability among seniors

The most characteristic feature of the demographic development in the Czech Republic and other developed countries is population ageing. The aim of the thesis "The process and rate of disability among seniors" was to determine the extent to which disability interferes with the lives of the seniors and to map the development, progress and conditions of the pension system. After an introductory overview of basic concepts, a part of the thesis deals with a theoretical analysis of the European framework of social security of seniors and another part is concerned with the reform of disability pensions in the Czech Republic. The focus is also on the forms of care for disabled pensioners. The empirical part analyzes the areas related to the development of population structure, administrative agenda, overview of pensions according to the WHO diagnosis groups, total overview of disability pensions, the development of the structure of pensions, financing of pension administration, and the average age of retired people. The economic side is also included, where pensions are compared with average salary and also the economic activity of seniors. The Employment Prospects of Persons with Disabilities in the Open Labour Market

The thesis is focused on the employment of persons with disabilities in the open labour market. The concepts related to disability and handicap have been dealt in the theoretical part as so as the importance of employment for people with disabilities, employment issues and embedding the right to work in an international and Czech rule of law have been discussed. In the empirical part the attitudes of employers to the disabled employees, their motives and experiences are evaluated. In the frame of thesis, that is being reached by qualitative research using the semi-structured interviewing employers in three districts of the Central Bohemia.

This theses focuses on disability pensions in Czech republic. It explores historical development of legislation related to this type of social benefit and it also anylyzes current state of legislation. It investigates proces which follows after handing in the application and assessment of health condition and also forms of appeal. The text of the thesis then concerns with Medical Assessment Service, which provides assessment of health for purposes of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. Medical Assessment Service deals with long-term problems with organization. The thesis reports on related studies of possible reorganization of Medical Assessment Service which were requested by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The issue is also analyzed from ombudsman's point of view.
The issue of disability in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis "The issue of disability in the Czech Republic" deals with the system of disability assesment and assigning of disability pension and the next social help, which is designed for the handicapped people, with concentration on the changes, which happened in 2010 and 2012. The aim of this thesis is to assess the system, show how the system works in practice and present the advantages and disadvantages of the system. The first part shows the question in theory, explain the basic terms and relevant legislation and tries to assess on basis of existent articles or interviews with experts. The second part deals with analysis of interviews, which were made with disabled people, medical assessor and officer from OSSZ. Aim is to show how the system works in practice and how is assessed by mentioned participants and by the author.

Social and legal status of persons with health disabilities

The very thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis at the very beginning focused on the social history of people with certain disabilities. Continues thesis definition and characteristics of disability and its exact breakdown. The next chapter deals with the analysis of contemporary society in the area of discrimination against persons with disabilities and points to the possibility of employment in the labor market just people with disabilities. A relatively large part of the thesis is devoted to the concept of disability, then the conditions for entitlement to a disability pension and social benefits, especially for people with disabilities. The next part refers to various non-profit organizations Conclusion itself thesis is devoted to legislation related to social assistance to disabled persons. The practical part is based on a questionnaire survey forms and personal interviews. The text part is supported by graphs, tables and streamline the survey results further illustrative photographs of people with disabilities.
