Czechslovakia and the Southern Cone 1945-1989

The doctoral thesis Czechoslovakia and the Southern Cone 1945-1989 analyses political, economic and cultural relations between an important country of the Eastern Bloc and three countries of the southernmost area of South America - Argentina, Chile and Uruguay - during the Cold War. The main objective of the thesis is to interpret unpublished Czech and foreign archives. The first chapter outlines Czechoslovak policy towards Latin America in the period under consideration. The following sections describe the relations between Czechoslovakia and the individual countries of the Southern Cone. These chapters are divided according to the nature of relations into political, economic and cultural contacts. Each of these three parts is further divided into subsections which correspond to important milestones of mutual relations. The thesis ends with an interview with Stanislav Svoboda, a senior diplomat of communist Czechoslovakia. His observations shed new light on the archive documents. Without abandoning the effort of presenting foreign researchers with the value of Czech archives, whose importance is further increased by the limited accessibility of Russian archives, the paper attempts to analyse the issue in the broader context of international politics. Analysis of Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Gaza Strip

The bachelor thesis analyzes the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. It is considered through one of the most important Palestinian parties- Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). In the introduction the thesis provides the explanation of the concept of Islamic fundamentalism, as it is understood throughout the work. It continuous with explanation of the historical background of the movement - the forefather, the Muslim Brotherhood and it culminates with the formation of Hamas during the First Intifada. The other chapters talk about the movement itself and its impact on the conflict. There is also a deep analysis of four important documents - Charter from the year 1988, the Election program, Program of the National united government, and the Political platform of the one-colored government of Hamas from 2006. These documents, statements and activities of its members as well, are important to see the evolution of movement's philosophy and its future impact on the conflict. Thesis is focused mostly on the period since the First Intifada till nowadays. It is oriented on the territory of Gaza Strip, where Hamas has governed since 2006. The last chapter concerns the points of view on Hamas among the states and experts.

This bachelor thesis is a commented translation of a selected French text. The thesis consists of two parts: the first one is a translation of 20 standardized pages, the second is a commentary of this translation. The original text is a brief description of the history of the Second World War. The commentary is divided into several parts which are: translation analysis of the original text (with emphasis on grammar, lexicology, syntax and stylistics), translation strategy, typology of translation methods and a chapter dealing with the specific problems of the translation. In the commentary, examples taken from the original and the translated texts are given.
Al Jazeera versus Al Arabiya

Diploma thesis "al Jazeera versus al Arabiya - Media Rivalry of Qatar and Saudi Ruling Families during the 2006 Lebanon War" deals with domestic Arab satellite channels - Qatar al Jazeera and Saudi al Arabiya - and their way of reporting about the war in Lebanon in 2006. Their news coverage is put into context of rivalry between Qatar and Saudi ruling families. The thesis focuses on wide range of issues including the role of media in foreign policy of Qatar and Saudi Arabia, use of media for securing stability of the ruling regimes and for pursuing their regional influence. Main theoretical concept of the thesis is the Arab media model which enables projection of interests of the ruling families in Qatar and Saudi Arabia into their media.

U. S. Safety and Strategic Culture during Barack Obama's 2nd Term

This bachleor thesis is about U. S. safety and strategic culture during the 2nd term of presidency of Barack Obama. It works with the hypothesis that U. S. safety and strategic culture between the years of 2012 and 2016 has signs of multilateralism, prefers political solutions and prefers use of soft power over hard power. This hypothesis might be confirmed based on discourse analysis of speeches and treaties. It is based on theory of safety and strategic culture and using criteria such as unilateralism besides multilateralism, preventive action besides preemptive strikes and militarism besides political solutions, this thesis evaluates the 2nd term of presidency of Barack Obama.
Health as an issue in International Politics and International Law

The way we understand the term health is being changed significantly under continuous globalisation. Even though in the past, health issues were a concern of a particular country, today, as a result of intensive trade and travelling, these issues reach beyond the boarders of national states and influence millions of people around the world consequently. Thus, the issue of health is moving from the national to the international level and a new concept of Global health emerges. Global health is a notion, which has evoked a lot of interest among politicians, academics, theoreticians, and within the whole international community, too. The international community is aware of its responsibility for global improvements to health through collective action. Thus, this thesis is aimed at the analysis of the development and practice of diplomacy in the sphere of health, as well as identifying the reasons of international co-operation of states in this field. The thesis concludes that the co-operation in global health is based on moral values, which are included in human right to health. Lastly, thesis scrutinizes human right to the enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health.
The integrated positiong of the brand Pilsner Urquell on foreign markets

The aim of this thesis is to present the international marketing strategy of Pilsner Urquell beer on foreign markets and to analyze the brand's positioning. The thesis is divided into three chapters. After the first chapter the reader is familiar with the basic theoretical concepts and methods of the brand and its management. The second chapter introduces the company Pilsner Urquell, a.s. It describes a company profile, its historical development, brand portfolio and export. The third chapter is focused on practice. It includes analysis of the international policies related to the brand Pilsner Urquell and the specific forms of positioning of this brand.
