The family and its role in the perception of current medical ethics

A Romany chilďs out-of-biological family placement

The bachelor thesis focuses on the location of a Roma child outside the biological family. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the definition of family as a concept, family function, family typology, dysfunctional family and its types. It is followed by a description of the history and culture of the Roma. The practical part contains an analysis of statistical data on the removal of children from Roma families and controlled interviews with the staff of the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children. The aim is to map, analyze and describe the most common reasons that in the Czech Republic lead to the placement of a Roma child outside the biological family and compare these reasons with the analogous situations of families in the majority society.
The path to restoring broken family functions through remediation

This theses deals with the subject of family from the perspective of her malfunction, when the family is offered help and support through the redevelopment of the family. The first part characterizes the family as a whole, deals with the family and types of families according to functionality. Here is introduced to a dysfunctional family, in which endangered a child or where may cause danger. Furthermore, here is closer specified vulnerable child in the family. Here is presented and characterized methods to help family redevelopment. In the conclusion of the work is given a concrete example of cooperation of the authority of socio-legal protection of children and the nono-profit organization that is rehabilitating the family deals with. An example of a family is indicated through case histories in the cooperation of all involved in the assistance to the family.
Impacts of Domestic Violence in family on the Child

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to find out, based on the study of professional literature and case studies, what negative effects might have domestic violence in the family on children. First are presented the definitions and functions of the family. Subsequently, domestic violence is characterized, with emphasis on children as witnesses as well as direct victims of violent behavior. In this context, the CAN syndrome is described. Particular attention is paid to the effects of violence on children, such as psychological deprivation, post-traumatic stress disorder, a situation where a child takes on an adult role and transgenerational transmission of violence. The theoretical part is followed by qualitative research. I used the method of analysis of documents in the form of case reports from the files of The Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children, where minors were exposed to domestic violence in their families.

Social enviroment in family with disabled child

The given Diploma Thesis focuses on social environment in the families with disabled children. The first three chapters describe the process of socialization and its impact on human development, then a family creating an environment for primary socialization and finally the third chapter describes examples of physical disabilities and specifics related to socialization of disabled people. This phenomena, examined and verified through the qualitative research, constitutes the issue of the fourth chapter. The qualitative survey is based on semi-structured interviews, followed by their open-coding assessment. The survey demonstrates changes, both in the family and in the family´s social environment, which occurred after the birth of a child with physical disability, or after detecting a diagnosis as a consequence of the acquired disability. The topic in question also discusses difficulties associated with care of a children with physical disability, as for the time, mental, social and other requirements.
Factors leading to the placement of a child into institutional care

This bachelor's thesis is based on factors leading to the placement of a child into institutional care and gives a general look at the solutions for a non-functional family and the risks of the child's removal for the parents. The theoretical part deals with the definition of a family, functionality of families and the types of social assistance for those dysfunctional families. The practical part contains case studies of children in children's homes and the FOD Klokánek, who lived in non-functional families. The aim of the work is to find out how a social worker can help a child within the context of social assistance and the law.
Role of family in particular life phases of the people suffering from spinal muscular atrophy

The thesis deals with the role of a family in particular life phases of a person suffering from the rare disease, spinal muscular atrophy. There are three main parts. The first one defines the term family, namely its system, features and functions, and explores the particularities of a family living with a handicapped member. The second part focuses on the spinal muscular atrophy, primarily on the development objectives of individual life phases of the people suffering from the disease. Thirdly, there is a section aiming at describing the role of the people taking care of the people challenged by spinal muscular atrophy from the early childhood to the middle adulthood. Furthermore, the diploma thesis points out the effort of these people to become independent and live their lives to the fullest with the help of care assistants, partners as well as start their families. For a better comprehension of the situation, there have been made semi-structured interviews with twelve families with a member of various age suffering from spinal muscular atrophy, inquiring not only the challenged persons, but also their parents and siblings.
