Use of project method in forest kindergartens

The topic of the thesis is the question of the project method. The aim of the thesis is to describe the potential of the project method and to research the use in pedagogical practise in forest kindergartens. The theoretical part defines the term project, presents the historical and theoretical contexts associated with the creation of the project method, and presents practical procedures for creating projects. The next part of the thesis describes the model of cooperative learning and provides information related to the application of cooperative teaching in pedagogical practice. The thesis describes the concept of forest kindergartens, where the research was carried out. A mixed approach was applied in the practical part. The results of the quantitative research, carried out by a questionnaire survey among teachers, showed that teachers in forest kindegartens include the project method in a targeted manner. They see the main benefits in the overall development of the child's personality. The barriers are time management, team cooperation, and lack of skills in cooperative teaching. Children's book and ecology

The aim of this diploma thesis is to map the offer of children's books with ecological themes in the Czech Republic and to create author's own book with a methodological manual for environmental education. In the theoretical part, suitable topics will be researched in books about ecology for environmental education aimed at first grade of primary school and an analysis of children's books focused on ecology will be made. The practical part is devoted to project days, when author's own book is being used, and in the end, a questionnaire concerning the teaching environment at the first grade of primary school is demonstrated. Nature trails and their use in environmental education

The bachelor thesis deals with the concept of nature trails and their use in environment al education. In the theoretical part, I will focus primarily on the general characteristic, which appears similarly in publications. Above all, it is the basic definition of nature trails, types of nature trails, rules for creating information panels and what each nature trail should contain. F urthermore, the contribution and function of nature trails as described in printed, documented literature will appear in the thesis. Definition of the contribution of nature trails to environmental education in comparison with o ther environmental education tools according to the basic literature on nature trails. Furthermore, I will present how environmental Education (EEA) is described in the St ate EEA Programme and in the Methodological Instruction of the Ministry of Education, Yout h and Sports to provide environmental education at secondary schools, secondary vocational s chools or vocational schools, which will provide illustrative instructions on how to implement environmental education at these schools and how it is embedded in the school's documents. Art and educational project with environmental elements in the school club

The bachelor thesis deals with art and educational project with environmental elements, which is conceived for school club, specifically for an Elementary school in the town Čkyně in the South Bohemian region. The first chapter of theoretical part mentions definition of school clubs, their aims, activities and specifics, which are typical for this leisure activity. The next chapter describe arts a hands-on activities and for example non-traditional materials, that can be used at activities. It also focuses on the specifics of environmental education and its anchoring in the Framework Education Programme. Last but not least, the theme is project teaching, which is now becoming more widely known by teachers and more popular with pupils. The practical part defines a specific project, compiled for a school retinue at the Primary School in Čkyně. The activities are designed for pupils of younger school age, namely the first and second years. The project involves three non-traditional artistic and practical activities that develop a deeper understanding and relationship with the natural materials that are being worked with. The activities correspond to the autumn/winter period in which they were carried out.
Urban After-School Environmental Education Programs in the USA

The thesis deals with environmental education programs in cities and towns of the USA. In the introductory part, it describes the idea and starting points of environmental education in the Czech Republic and the United States of America. It briefly describes environmental education in formal and non-formal education. It characterizes the urban environment and its determinants in relation to the offer of leisure programs. In the second part, it deals with six selected programs that were implemented in the USA between 2011 and 2021. It describes these programs and presents their evaluation from the perspective of participants and organizers. In the final part, it deals with the analysis of the evaluation of programmes, and it also mentions which one it sees as an inspirational example of good practice for urban environmental education programmes in the Czech Republic.

My thesis focuses on current environmental attitudes of secondary medical schools´ students. Its aim is to explore these attitudes through questionnaire surveys. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical one, the former describing environmental education in all the three sections of the school system (including preschool education), and the latter analysing secondary students´ questionnaires. The thesis covers specifics and problems that the environmental education faces within the Czech traditional school system, and it also maps items such as environmental management, legislation, impacts and aspects. Last but not least, the theoretical part investigates the environment, its pollution, its protection and its fundamental problems. Finally, the theoretical part describes environmental attitudes and the behaviour interconnected with them. The practical part deals with the survey itself, using the research method of an online questionnaire, divided into five sections, which as a whole answers the key reasearch question. The practical part is complemented by tips and recommendations for teachers.
Year-round project for preschool children - Water changes

The bachelor thesis deals with the creation and implementation of a year-round project for preschool children. The project focuses on water transformation during the year. Water becomes known to children through environmental education. The theoretical part explains the term environmental education in the context of preschool education. By defining examples of the relationships between the components of living and inanimate nature, the work deals in detail with information on the topic of water, its various forms, changes and uses. The practical part contains suggestions of suitable activities and activities used to understand the relationship to nature, especially water during the ten thematic weeks, when each month in a given school year children discuss one of the thematic weeks (solid state of water, liquid state of water, gaseous state of water, utility water, waste water, water origin, water cycle). During the weeks, the children gained basic knowledge about nature, especially about water, and their positive attitude towards nature in their surroundings was deepened. The children understood that there would be no life without water.
The educational programme oriented to selected ecosystems in kindergarten

This Bachelor thesis focuses on environmental education. In the theoretical part it defines environmental education and its main objectives, the reasons for its inclusion in preschool education and its relation to the Framework Education Programme for Preschool Education. In addition, it names methods suitable for its implementation in kindergarten. In the practical part, it presents the developed educational offer focused on the selected ecosystem. In selecting the activities included in the curriculum, it emphasises methods of direct nature study, such as observation and simple experimentation, manipulation of natural materials or sensory perception. At the same time, it focuses on the children's experience and the experience they gain through direct contact with nature and spontaneous play in it. After the implementation of the teaching programme, it then evaluates the proposed topics and the chosen methods on the basis of the evaluated interviews and the ongoing observation of the children.
