Emotional intelligence and her development in kindergarten through working with book

The diploma thesis deals with the area of development of emotional intelligence in preschool children through work with a book. It deals with the issue of emotional intelligence, its role in the development of the child, in the period of preschool age. The theoretical part is intended to introduce the reader to the issue of emotional intelligence and its relationship to pre-school education. The introduction of the thesis characterizes the period of preschool age and its specifics in connection with the development of emotions. Furthermore, emotions, emotional intelligence and its development importance in the chosen preschool period are defined and the possibilities of its development and appropriate ways of working are suggested (reading strategies, EUR model). In conclusion of the theoretical part, the importance of the development of emotional intelligence in the chosen preschool period is given and suggests the possibilities of its development and appropriate ways of working Within the practical part, the key method was action research, which served to verify the effectiveness of the created lessons based on the EUR model using reading strategies. Work with children's literature on the topic of disability with preschool children in kindergarten

The bachelor thesis deals with what children's books are suitable for opening the topic of a child's life with special educational needs (SEN) and what methods of working with the book (including reading strategies) to use to convey this topic to children through books. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of children with SEN in preschool education and their education in preschool type facilities; it further mentions work with a book within preschool children. Based on the obtained information, the analysis of framework educational program for preschool education is performed. It also deals with reading literacy, pre-literacy and its development. It mentions the creation of a positive attitude towards reading and how to work with the book in kindergarten. The practical part posed as a problem the development of prosocial behavior of children through work with a book on the topic of life of children with special educational needs. The practical part focused on whether the children's literature mediating the life of a child with special educational needs is used in kindergarten and whether this topic is not very demanding for preschool children. This bachelor's thesis, titled Stereotypical portrayals of Native Americans in Lynne Reid Banks's The Indian in the Cupboard, focuses on the phenomenon of stereotypical portrayals of Native Americans in Lynne Reid Banks's book The Indian in the Cupboard. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the topics of stereotype and ethnocentrism with a focus on Native Americans. It also includes a brief outline of the historical development of literary works concerning Native Americans and discusses the importance of accuracy in children's literature. Hans Christian Andersen's Fairy Tales in Czech Translations

This master thesis deals with the translations of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales into Czech and their reception in the period from 1948 to 1989. After a description of the historical context and the status of children's and translated literature in the given period, an analysis of different fairy tales follows, with a focus on the influence of cultural and language norms and literary tradition on the translations. Special attention has been paid to censorship. The theoretical background consists of a chapter dedicated to Andersen's life and work, characteristics of his fairy tales and their reception, and a chapter dealing with the specifics of the translation of children's literature. The thesis also includes a bibliography of Czech translations of Andersen's fairy tales (book editions) and a bibliography of reviews, monographs and articles about Andersen published between 1948 and 1989. The main contributions of this thesis are in providing an overview of the translations in the given period and its analysis of the influence of norms and censorship on the translation. Kubova, Katerina: Language and Style of Underground Children's Books: The Thesis. Prague: The Faculty of Arts of The Charles University, Institute of Czech Language and Theory of Communication, 2011. Thesis Advisor: Prof. PhDr. Petr Mares, CSc. This thesis aims to examine the linguistic and stylistic aspects of Czech underground literature for children. In the first part, it focuses on the specifics of children's literature and on the term "child aspect" which serves as a criterion for further analysis of selected texts. The thesis also presents selected writers of children's literature and their work. The linguistic and stylistic analysis is largely based on the book Současná stylistika (The Contemporary Czech Stylistics), which characterizes the individual linguistic levels of a fictional text. Texts for children, written by Egond Bondy and Ivan Martin Jirous, the most prominent figures of the Czech cultural underground of the 1970's and 1980's, are analyzed. Finally, the linguistic and stylistic features of the samizdat anthology Čert má kopyto… (The Devil Has a Hoof…), which represents a sum of the Czech underground literature for children, are examined, determining texts that meet both the criterion of the children's literature and the criterion of the underground poetics, and therefore...
Traditional Czech and British Fairy Tales - The Most Obvious Analogies

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to demonstrate whether Czech and British fairy tales evince analogies in terms of motifs and narratological structure. The theoretical part explains the origin of fairy tales in both countries and presents definitions of a traditional fairy tale and its main functions. The practical part begins with an analysis of an individual style of writing of the authors Božena Němcová, Karel Jaromír Erben, Joseph Jacobs and Oscar Wilde who are considered to be the main representatives of traditional fairy tales and thus their works enable a more thorough comparison. Subsequently, the author has paid attention to the analysis of traditional fairy tales of both literatures. In addition to their identical features, the comparison has also shown a number of discrepancies. Relationship between the parents of pre-scholars to the children book

This thesis deals with pre-reading literacy and focuses on the factors and actors that it develops. The first chapter deals with the theoretical definition and importance of education to the reading. The second chapter outlines the literary form of preschool education and how the literary education is included in the general educational program for preschool education. The third chapter is devoted to the primary and most important factor that the development of a child's reading act, and that is the family. It shows the possibilities of how children can relate to the books in the family to support the role of the relationship of their parents to read and stresses the importance of reading and storytelling in the family circle. The following chapter deals with the cooperation of nursery school and family in the development of a child's reading, closer is about the influence of teacher's personality and it offers opportunities to work with the book in full day kindergarten regime. The last two chapters of the theoretical part characterizes the specifics of children's literature and provide an overview of the typology of literature for preschool children. This bachelor thesis deals with analysis of novels Muscha and Mano. Der Junge, der nicht wusste, wo er war. They were written by German author Anja Tuckermann. In the theoretical part books are set into historical and sociological context and their genre is discussed. The practical part of this bachelor thesis focuses on analysis of the novels based on their structure - outer and inner composition. The thesis concetrates largely on the representation of intercultural prejudice. In the final chapter the books are compared and contrasted and it is commented on their position within children's literature.
