The springs of the radioactive medicinal groundwaters in the Chrastava - Bogatynia area
Černík, Tomáš ; Goliáš, Viktor (advisor) ; Vylita, Tomáš (referee)
A radiogeochemical exploration in the area of Chrastava - Bogatynia belonging into lugic region was conducted in the years 2012 - 2013. This exploration's objective was to search for and investigate radioactive water manifestations with radioactivity concentration reaching minimal value of 1500 Bq/l 222Rn. This boundary is set in the spa law no. 164/2001 Sb. as a minimal radioactivity concentration for radioactive mineral water. In this area, 30 water manifestations were discovered meeting the boudary of >1500 Bq/l 222Rn. The most significant cluster is located in Albrechtice by Frýdlant. Close to Kančí vrch (Boar Hill) 12 radioactive water springs were discovered. In the town of Albrechtice, a discovery of dissolved salts- rich radioactive mineral water was made, concerning springs Soumar and Matka. The most mineralized spring Soumar contains more than 1 g/l of dissolved salts (hydrochemical type Na-Ca-Cl water with total mineralization up to 1,5 g/l) combined with it's 222Rn activity surpassing 1500 Bq/l. Another significant cluster is located near the town of Nová Ves by Chrastava, where the most active source of the whole area, Mikulášský pramen (Mikulash Spring), with activity up to 2821 Bq/l 222Rn, was found. Another three radioactive water springs were found in this area. Also, probable dry...
Springs of the radioactive medicinal water in the Lázně Libverda - Świeradów-Zdrój area
Hrušková, Lenka ; Goliáš, Viktor (advisor) ; Vylita, Tomáš (referee)
The main radionuclide causing high water radiation is 222 Rn with half-life 3.82 days. Concentrations of radon in radioactive mineral water in the Krkonoše-Jizera Crystalline Complex are very high and do not correspond with the concentration of uranium in the source rocks. These springs probably well up near the uranium mineralisation. Search for radioactive mineral water started in 2005 in Orlice- Sněžník Dome built by orthogneisses, which was the first promising area for such research. The research continued to the areas of Jánské Lázně and Horní Malá Úpa built by the Krkonoše orthogneisses in the next few years. In the last two years research was conducted in Lázně Libverda. Until then there were only a few known springs with radioactive mineral water. Lázně Libverda-Świeradów-Zdrój area is located in the Krkonoše-Jizera Crystalline Complex built by Cambrian/Ordovician orthogneisses and Variscan granite pluton. Jizera orthogneisses and the contact of these two objects were considered to be very promising in terms of finding springs of the radioactive medicinal water. Another criterion for a successful exploration is also an abnormal tectonic deformation of the zone. Uranium exploration was also conducted in 1950s, so we could use data available from the emanatory survey on a scale of 1:5000 and...

Comparison of oxyhumolite of the Sokolov basin with materials which are using in spa and alternative medicin and its possible usage in these spheres
Dúcka, Barbora ; Goliáš, Viktor (referee) ; Rojík, Petr (advisor)
This work deal with a brief characterization of three materials, namely oxyhumolite and sapropelite from Sokolov basin that are compared with peat from Františkovy Lázně. The sampling localities are briefly geographically and geologically described including the genesis of the deposits. All materials are specifically characterized by analysis. The materials are compared based on the results of the analysis. Greater attentinon is paid to the comparison of sulfur content, humic acides and warmth retention. A part of the work is devoted to description of peloids and their influence on the human organism. The history of using peloids is briefly discussed. The possibility of using oxyhumolite and sapropelite for production of natural cosmetics or for balneological use is examined as a replacement for native and especially for regenerated peat.
Mineral waters of "Mariánské Lázně" and their use in balneology and in human health care
Hanzlíková, Veronika ; Matula, Svatopluk (advisor) ; Miháliková, Markéta (referee)
The town Mariánské Lázně is known as a spa town belonging to the so called West Bohemian Spa Triangle together with Karlovy Vary and Františkovy lázně, where they occupy the youngest place. The town became famous especially with mineral springs, with their amounts, where on the small territory of the town Mariánské Lázně rises about forty springs and in the close surroundings is their amount given to a hundred, primarily with composition of carbonic Seltzer water. Mineral springs are known here for its diverse composition, which are alleged to find in other spa towns of the Czech Republic and they are considered to be so called balneologic unique. Mineral springs are waters with dissolved minerals, coming from local rocks such as granite, gneiss and amphibolite, then coming from various compounds. They are gas-charged with carbon dioxide, thanks to it are they called as a Seltzer water. On the presence of carbon dioxide affects Mariánskolázeňský zlom, bounding Tepelská vrchovina. Mineral springs of Mariánské Lázně are gas-charged from 2,5 to 3 g/l. Their mineralization is a medium to very strong, moving in large span from 3000 mg/l to 11 570 mg/l. From the viewpoint of temperature, it is about cold mineral waters with their temperature of 6 °C to 10 °C. The cure with mineral springs has been known since 18th Century, when the then doctors were analyzing and researching on individuals their therapeutic effects. The most important doctor, who treated patients with mineral springs as a first person and also had appropriately positive results, was MUDr. Jan Josef Nehr, whose personality is very popular for the town. The spa treatment, or balneotherapy has its own meaning till today. In Mariánské Lázně, it is used external and internal balneology, whose best known procedures are especially drinking water treatment, then mineral baths, body wrap, subcutaneous application of spring gas, or inhalation. Doctor always prescribe treatment, with respect to patients´s health condition. Primary diseases, which are in Mariánské Lázně treated is illness of digestive tract, then illness of kidneys or airways. Balneotherapy is treatment combining mutually spa procedures, where climate of spa environment performs important role too.

Particular attention is paid to the field of wellness, which is one of the most important components of spa tourism in the US. The practical part presents the characteristics of the United States from the perspective of basic and economic data and subsequently within the particular forms of tourism. The main part of this thesis presents a chapter devoted to the characteristics of spa tourism in the US, where is a briefly presented historical development of the spas, as well as the organizational framework and significant Spa Associations. Subsequent analysis of spa tourism, as well as the wellness area defines on the basis of statistical data the current state of spa tourism and its position in the United States to other countries. The final part presents selected spas in terms of significance of the occurrence of natural healing resources, and also in terms of tourist importance.
Impact of the change in providing spa care according to the ordinance 267/2012 to the physiotherapy conception in the spa surrounding
PRAŽÁKOVÁ, Eva
My bachelor thesis deals with problems, that occurred after the cancellation of the Decree No. 58/1997 Coll. and the adoption of the Decree No. 267/2012 Coll. establishing a new indicator list for the Spa sanatorium rehabilitation care for adults, children and adolescents, when there have been significant changes in the area of Spa care. Significant changes occurred, for example in the length of stay in treatment, that was shortened to 14 days or 21 days and to changes in the overall indication of the spa treatment, when some disease it was not possible to draw a spa care at all. This resulted in serious problems for both the spa facilities, as well as for patiens. Physiotherapy as an important part of balneotherapy has a very close relationship to the overall concept of the Spa treatement and its effect depends to a large extent on the presence and frequency of other treatments. The first part of the theoretical work deals with a spa treatment, legislation of Spa care and impact which has occurred after the adoption of Decree No. 267/2012 Coll. The second theoretical part deals with the therapeutic methods in the Spa. The aim of the work was charting of physiotherapeutic procedures in the context of Spa care pursuant to decree 58/1997 Coll. and 267/2012 Coll.. For the processing of a qualitative research strategy was used the method of the personal case study. Research file consisted of three patients who have completed the three-week comprehensive spa treatment in Bertiny lázně in Třeboň. One patient was treated with rheumatoid arthritis and two patients with Bechterew's disease. All the listed patients visited the spa facilities regularly and repeatedly. For these respondents was conducted the subscription history, input and output kinesiological analysis. Input and output of kinesiological analysis contained the examination of aspects, palpation, examination of walk, antropometric examination, goniometric examination and examination of distance on the spine. Six individual therapies was done and a subjective evaluation of the results of therapy at the end. Physiotherapy treatment was evaluated according to the above regulations. For these three treated patients was noted a difference in the effect of the spa treatment in the three-week and the four-week stay. Extended stay brought the longer-term pain relief, improve mobility and overall had a long-term effect, thanks to the greater number of balneotherapy treatment and the greater number of physiotherapy. It also had a better effect on the psyche of the patient when the patient could rest during the longer stay and managed to learn exercises and consolidate new friendship. The good news is the adoption of the new law, when from 2015 the length of the Spa stay was set back to four weeks. In my bachelor thesis I'd like to point out the problems that caused the adoption of Decree No. 267/2012 Coll. Furthermore, public awareness on this issue could be improved in this way.
