Object Detection Using Kinect
Řehánek, Martin ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
With the release of the Kinect device new possibilities appeared, allowing a simple use of image depth in image processing. The aim of this thesis is to propose a method for object detection and recognition in a depth map. Well known method Bag of Words and a descriptor based on Spin Image method are used for the object recognition. The Spin Image method is one of several existing approaches to depth map which are described in this thesis. Detection of object in picture is ensured by the sliding window technique. That is improved and speeded up by utilization of the depth information.
Localisation of Mobile Robot in the Environment
Němec, Lukáš ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Veľas, Martin (advisor)
This paper addresses the problem of mobile robot localization based on current 2D and 3D data and previous records. Focusing on practical loop detection in the trajectory of a robot. The objective of this work was to evaluate current methods of image processing and depth data for issues of localization in environment. This work uses Bag of Words for 2D data and environment of point cloud with Viewpoint Feature Histogram for 3D data. Designed system was implemented and evaluated.
Android Application with Content Based Image Retrieval
Ligač, Filip ; Angelov, Michael (referee) ; Bartoš, Peter (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development on the mobile platform Android and algorithms for comparing images. The work identifies different ways of getting information and representation of these images and comparing them together. The theoretical part describes all necessary tools which are needed for development and a little description of their functionality. The practical part is devoted to describing the implementation of the application which detects hockey cards according to the photo taken by user. This part also contains testing results with evaluating success of each method for detection and their usefulness on mobile platform. In the conclusion there is a review of overall results and possible upgrades of the application.
Robust Screen and Slide Detection in Video
Hanzel, Svätopluk ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Szőke, Igor (advisor)
The main goal of this bachelor thesis is implementation of a robust screen detector with slide synchronization using various techniques including neural networks, keypoints extraction and matching, text extraction using OCR and text matching. These methods are also analysed and compared to their possible alternatives.
Automatic Photography Categorization
Gajová, Veronika ; Hradiš, Michal (referee) ; Španěl, Michal (advisor)
Purpose of this thesis is to design and implement a tool for automatic categorization of photos. The proposed tool is based on the Bag of Words classification method and it is realized as a plug-in for the XnView image viewer. The plug-in is able to classify a selected group of photos into predefined image categories. Subsequent notation of image categories is written directly into IPTC metadata of the picture as a keyword.
Video Feature for Classification
Behúň, Kamil ; Herout, Adam (referee) ; Hradiš, Michal (advisor)
This thesis compares hand-designed features with features learned by feature learning methods in video classification. The features learned by Principal Component Analysis whitening, Independent subspace analysis and Sparse Autoencoders were tested in a standard Bag of Visual Word classification paradigm replacing hand-designed features (e.g. SIFT, HOG, HOF). The classification performance was measured on Human Motion DataBase and YouTube Action Data Set. Learned features showed better performance than the hand-desined features. The combination of hand-designed features and learned features by Multiple Kernel Learning method showed even better performance, including cases when hand-designed features and learned features achieved not so good performance separately.
Photo Instead of QR Code
Štol, Jakub ; Španěl, Michal (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This thesis focuses on create system, which according to user's photo search the most similar photo in dataset a display additional information about this photo such as photo content, place and author. The system is primarily focused on fields, where the user wants to use this system and get information, which he want such as museums or galleries. Theoretical part focuses on concept system according to methods of image processing and searching image in the dataset. Practical part focuses on concept creating web application, which display more information about the photo via web interface.

Object Instance Search in Image Dataset
Medvec, Juraj ; Brejcha, Jan (referee) ; Beran, Vítězslav (advisor)
This project is focused on the selected techniques for image searching. In the introduction are presented all existing solutions, which are used in daily use. The other chapters are focused on creating resulting framework. On the end is introduced the demo application, which is using the framework for searching books by front page image.
Machine Learning Concepts for Categorization of Objects in Images
Hubený, Marek ; Honec, Peter (referee) ; Horák, Karel (advisor)
This work is focused on objects and scenes recognition using machine learning and computer vision tools. Before the solution of this problem has been studied basic phases of the machine learning concept and statistical models with accent on their division into discriminative and generative method. Further, the Bag-of-words method and its modification have been investigated and described. In the practical part of this work, the implementation of the Bag-of-words method with the SVM classifier was created in the Matlab environment and the model was tested on various sets of publicly available images.
