Determination of exercise post-oxygen consumption (EPOC) following resistance training, and aerobic exercise
Galertová, Alena ; Petr, Miroslav (advisor) ; Sedlak, Petr (referee)
Oxygen debt repayment after completion of intense muscular activity reflects the significant involvement of anaerobic metabolism druring exercise. Some studies have reported an increased oxygen consumption even after 24 to 48 hours after strength training character, while after the activities of lower intensity (the aerobic exercise) is the oxygen consumption increased only in the order of several hours. In common practice, especially in the selection of the most suitable forms of exercise to increase energy expenditure in the general population, this is not usually a calculated factor. The aim of the thesis is the comparison of the energy expenditure by using indirect calorimetry and monitoring of selected individuals and at intervals after completion intense muscular activity and after aerobic exercise. Aerobic, its characteristics, methodology and health benefits
Hlaváčková, Klára ; Nováková, Daniela (advisor) ; Nechlebová, Eva (referee)
The aim of this work is to create an educational DVD with aerobics classes for beginners and intermediate exercisers. The DVD is designed for children and adults who want to work out at home in their free time, for novice teachers of aerobics, to liven up their lessons, and finally for heads of various sports clubs teachers who would like to include aerobics to their lessons. In the theoretical part the characteristic of aerobics is introduced, its effect on human health, and particular types of aerobics, including racing. In conclusion of the theoretical part basic steps of aerobics are described. In addition, there is also English terminology and explanation of teaching methods that are used in aerobics classes. The practical part is devoted to the learning DVD. The introduction describes the preparation for filming, followed by a transcript of choreography and stretching exercises that are used in the video, and also instructions on how to start with an exercise and what to avoid. The conclusion of the practical part is focused on a review of the DVD. The evaluation was carried out using a questionnaire survey, which was attended by a total of 60 respondents. It examined six different criteria that respondents assessed with grade 1 to 5. Overall, the DVD was evaluated by 61,7% respondents as...
Zumba as means of body fat reduction
Šašková, Vlasta ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Strejcová, Barbora (referee)
Title: Zumba as means of body fat reduction Objectives: The main objective of this bachelor thesis was to assess Zumba as means of body fat reduction. Exercise intensity was monitored at ten different sessions of Zumba. The target band was set at 75-85% of maximum HR, which is the best for body fat reduction and at duration of exercise load for at least 15-20 minutes. Methods: In this study, the method of comparison was mainly used when comparing the intensity of exercise load of individual Zumba fitness lessons and heart rate monitoring method using sporttester. Another objective of this thesis was to highlight the benefits of Zumba as an aerobic exercise by summarizing the main effects of the aerobic exercise, to bring an explanations of the basic principles and methods of aerobic exercise and to explain the basic processes ongoing in the body during and after aerobic exercise. Results: From the data, it was found out that the subject's HR during the Zumba lesson was oscillating within the target band 75-85% of the maximum HR on average 31 minutes and 46 seconds. Expressed as a percentage relative to the total time the lesson it was 58% of the total time, with a mean standard deviation of 8%. In conclusion Zumba was considered as an appropriate physical activity for reducing body fat, on...
The noise intensity in commercial aerobic classes in relation to hygienic standards
Kleinová, Nikola ; Šteffl, Michal (advisor) ; Petr, Miroslav (referee)
Links: Aerobic motion activity as it is offered in commercial aerobic classes is generally considered to be beneficial for the motion apparatus, and for one's overall health. Nevertheless, loud music accompanying the exercise can rather cause damage to one's health. Goals: The main scope of my thesis is to measure the noise intensity in commercial aerobic classes and to verify whether the noise does not exceed the limits permitted by hygienic standards. Methods: In my thesis I used a specific method for determination of the noise intensity in the aerobic class space. I opted for the noise level according to EPA standards ranging between 70 and 80 dB as the basic constant. The measurement itself took place after calibration in eleven measured spots in a fitness centre located in České Budějovice. The measured spots were established in the space according to the placement of the sound apparatus and the measurement itself took place in the height of the sound apparatus of a fitness centre client. The measured values were further processed into descriptive graphs and all outcomes were further processed using statistical methods in order to verify the measurement validity according to statistical significance. Results: On the basis of the performed measurement, data processing and the following...
Aerobic exercise and its impact on human health.
TRNKOVÁ, Lenka
This bachelor's thesis contains a comprehensive overview of aerobic exercises and its physiological aspects on human health. Introduction is focused on characteristics of aerobic exercises and the importance of physical activity as prevention, followed by a more detailed analysis of physiological aspects of physical activity on a human health and it continues with next section about heart rate. The heart rate section is also associated with the cardiac stress test and cardiopulmonary exercise test. Other section describes the intake of food and drink during exercises, food supplements and weight reduction in correlation with physical activity. The last section presents the examples of aerobic physical activities which are divided to outdoor, indoor and water activities. The result of this dissertation is a comprehensive overview of aerobic activities and their consequences and is intended for the general public.
