Teaching as a second career

The thesis deals with the personality of a primary school teacher for which teaching is a second career. The theoretical part is focused on general demands placed on teacher's personality, defines the term 'second career teacher', describes professional development of a teacher, gives potential motivators influencing the choice to become a teacher and also briefly introduces the system of professional training of primary school teachers in Czech Republic and some other European countries. The aim of qualitative survey performed by deep semi- structured discussions with 5 teachers about their live stories was to answer the research question: "What is the second career teacher like?" By means of partial questions the survey has uncovered the reasons that brought those teachers to career change, which benefits and difficulties following their decision they perceived, which gains from previous profession they can use in their new teaching career. Finally, the thesis brings the point of view of the respondents on their studies at pedagogical faculty. Life stories and career paths of School Headmasters

This theoretical-empirical thesis focuses on the life and career path of experienced School Principals of Preschools and Elementary Schools in Czech Republic and what the School Principal position is about. The theoretical part brings a closer look on an explanation of life and career path, summarisation of knowledge of the work of the School Principal itself including its competence and management skills, which are necessary to provide flawless run of every school. The empiric part presents the results of qualitatively oriented research. The main method of the data collection is in-depth semi-structured interview led by the School Principals, the supplementary data were gained from the analysis of publicly accessible documents, especially inspection reports, and by supplementary interviews with Deputy School Principals or with the founders. The research sample is very wide even though it consists of only three respondents - the Principal of Elementary School, the Principal of Preschool and the Principal of school combining Preschool and a first grade of Elementary School. Using Story-telling in Pastoral Care

This thesis deals with the usage of storytelling within the pastoral conversation. It aims for describing approaches that addresses storytelling and discovering if and under what circumstances is possible to be applicated while putting emphasis on the storytelling. The thesis maps the progression of pastoral care in Czechia during past century and in foreign countries because of the American boom of narrative forms within pastoral care. The main theme is mapping of four approaches of storytelling during the pastoral conversation. They are divided into two groups based on sides that is focused within the conversation. At first part the thesis describes story telling of caregiver and focuses mostly on the way how the caregiver narrates biblical stories toward the care seeker. The second part deals with approaches of pastoral care that were influenced by narrative therapy. The focus is shifted towards the care seeker's storytelling. At last, but not least, the thesis aims to define the differences between those approaches and their potential drawbacks.
Integrity in seniors

This diploma thesis was focused on the study of integrity, its aspects, forms and resources in seniors, which we have identified as persons with a high degree of integrity based on established criteria. The aim of this work was to capture and understand the unique life experience of these seniors. The work consists of a theoretical and empirical part. The theoretical part consists of explanation of concepts of integrity and old age, in particular we focus on Erikson's conception of integrity and concept of successful aging. The empirical part consists of qualitative research aimed at finding sources and manifestations of integrity in three unique life stories of seniors aged 75-91. We obtained data for our research in a home for the elderly through semi-structured interviews, which we then analyzed using the method of interpretative phenomenological analysis. The results are presented from two perspectives. The first is an analysis of the experience of individual seniors, the second represents the perspective of themes that are important for integrity and appeared in most of our respondents. These themes are: Activity, Moral Integrity, Trust - Acceptance - Surrender, Ways of Living, Modesty, Relationship Orientation and Spirituality. The quality of life of children with cerebral palsy from the perspective of parents

The bachelor thesis examines lives of parents bringing up children with cerebral palsy. It describes their significant events and how these moments influenced their quality of life. The theory part demonstrates problems of cerebral palsy and describes difficulties parents experienced while bringing up children with cerebral palsy. It salso descries their quality of life. The practical part includes 5 family life stories and their methodical processes, analysis and interpretations. The stories are put together with narrative analysis.
Terezie Hradilková - personality of socially-charitable live of 20th century

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to introduce the personal and working life of Mrs. Terezie Hradilkova, the founder of the early care. This work had been divided into four parts. The first one dealt with handicapped disability, the next part described the visually impaired and it was followed by characterization of the early care. The life story of Terezie Hradilkova had been paid attention in the last part of this thesis and it gave the detailed sight on her roots, social work, family life and also on her personal emocion and life experiences. The major benefit of this work could be seen in the life description of a person, who had stood in the beginning of the social work for handicapped children and their families and who has not been really known among Czech population.
Looking Back at the End of Life´s Journey. A Retospective View of Seniors

In this bachelor thesis I would like to introduce the process of aging and aging with regard to previous developmental stages in human life. I choose this topic - life story of seniors, because I have a very positive relationship with old people and I was always very interested in thein life stories. The aim of my bachelor thesis is to explore the lives of seniors and their most important periods and seech at impact has relive the past on life in old age. The theoretical part deals with the different developmental stages, old age, aging, life story and life in old age. The practical part is focused on the target group of seniors, and especially thein life stories. The main objektive is to explore the lives of seniors, and it is signifiant periods. This bachelor thesis identified the main research question chat is the impal of relive past on life in old age? On the basic of the main research questions I set out five specific research questions. For the empirical part of my thesis I choose qualitative research strategy, narrative interview method and technice of cluster. Operationalized questions were dividend according to specific research questions and by development stages. The research group consists of six seniors who were selected by quota selection hen this quota is equal representation of men and women aged 71-81 years who are willing to give interviews. There sults were obtained based on narrative interviews in the Home for elderly "Pohoda", in Netolice. Based on the mapping of the life of seniors and thein significant period, it was found that the old age is the reset of the whole life time. Although each of senior had different life, in old age their lives resemble each other. Given the times in which they lived and chat they lived through, they can now appreciate everything. Today's time is perceived ether negatively, but they are happy with thein lives in old age. Relive the past has a very signifiant effect on old age. This bachelor thesis could be beneficial for specific social services and results may help to better understand the life stories of users. Knowledge of thein lives can help to improve the quality of life of seniors in homes for the elderly. Also I think, that knowledge of interesting life stories can penetratein to the depths of thein lives and help to understand the seniors. This bachelor thesis could be alsouseful for other students who deal with the topic of life stories.
Teen - agers using addictive substance - case study

Bachelor thesis is tries to capture the importance of prevention and therapy teen-agers drug users. The theoretical part is about drug like a substance and their prevention or risks. All theoretical part is chosen pursuant on the practical part. In the practical part we can find the specific example of one chicks drug user. There we can also found the comparison of theo-retical and practical part we will see here if all were done correctly or with mistake. The aim of this thesis is to try to point out the theory and practice of the pros and cons of the system of care for young people addicted to drugs.
Life Stories of Preschool Directresses

This thesis examines life stories of three chosen preschool directresses. Based on life story interviews it brings and partially compares their life stories, picks out the critical incidents and characteristic features of their lives, gives insight into individual phases of their director's role and document their reflection of the role itself. The in - depth interviews focus on complex understanding of individual's life. The directresses are examined based on both their professional development and personal experiences. This thesis documents own interpretations of life stories; it is a source of self-reflection for the examined directresses. It also serves as an inspiration source for directors newly in the office. It is formally divided into two parts: the theoretical one gives an overview of life-story interview as a methodological approach applied. Furthermore, it is also devoted to the director as an individual being defined mainly in the Czech School Law. It also represents the existing results of both teachers' and directors' life stories research. The research part represents an analysis of life story interviews with three chosen preschool directresses in connection to the research questions.
