Case Milada Horáková: from reality and media reflection to film cover

This diploma thesis deals with the fate of Milada Horáková. It focuses on media responses regarding the trial, the film production Milada and the responses to it, the opinions of experts and further portrayal of the fate of the only woman executed in political trials. The first part of the diploma thesis is devoted to the life of Milada Horáková and is set in the context of that period. It also gives a detailed description of the trial preparations and subsequently explains the details of each day prior to the trial with all thirteen defendants. The initial part of the thesis analyzes the contemporary media responses of the three most important daily newspapers of that time, Rudé právo, Svobodné slovo and Lidová demokracie. Finally, the thesis deals with the rehabilitation of Milada Horáková and the responses regarding the matter in the summer of 1968 in the above-mentioned dailies. The second part of the thesis starts with defining the historical biographical motion picture as a genre. Subsequently, it describes the film Milada in detail and it gives a brief overview of the film's director David Mrnka and his opinion on the film. This diploma thesis deals with the important composer from Kutná Hora, the author of several pieces for children and especially the creator of children's opera Marie Kučerová-Herbstová (1896-1962). The individual chapters deal with composer's personal life, professional activities, ties to Kutná Hora as well as her work and provide closer look at the children's operas she created.
Edith Piaf: Life and career

This bachelor thesis deals with life and career of Edith Piaf. The thesis also analyses individual life phases and important career moments, which contributed to the development of personality of Edith Piaf and her profession as a composer-interpreter-author. This thesis treats not only the key figures, which had an influence upon the singer's career growth, but also men, who inspired her in song writing and whom she then helped in their career. Not less important space is dedicated to the evolution and creation of the repertoire of Edith Piaf, which was formed in relation to the singer's psychological and physical state of mind. The result of this thesis is a chronologically designed plan, which provides a comprehensive view on life journey and development of career of Edith Piaf, who has become famous on a worldwide scale and contributed to the proliferation and development of chanson genre. There was also discovered a key role of Raymond Asso in formation and development of career and the importance of love relationships in obtaining inspiration and maintaining creative spirit. The status of teachers in Czech schools since the early 19th century to the present time

This thesis deals with the development of education of future teachers with a focus on the history of female teachers' education from the year 1869 to the present. The thesis describes life in the 19th century. Mainlythe greatest sociocultural and political changes that occurred in itform the perspective of economy, industry and commerce, as well as from the changing the point of view on a family, home and population health, and finally, from the point of a shifted vision of citizenship, education and emancipation of women. It also focuses on a detailed description of teacher education in the Czech lands from the 19th century to the present, mainly on the period from Hasner's reform of 1869, the First Republic, post-war education and an overview of contemporary education. The thesis pays attention on the beginnings of women's education with a focus on female teachers. It describes the issue of teacher celibacyvalid for the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the first year of the independent Czechoslovak state. The thesis is divided into 4 main chapters. The first and the second chapters are about biographies. The first chapter is dedicated to Brahms ́s life in period of composing the concerto. In the second chapter you can find artist ́s biographies. The third chapter describes musical form of the concerto. The thesis deals with the life, work and socio-charitable aspects of Father Pio of Pietrelcina. It is composed of three individual sections. The first chapter provides information about the life of the Italian Saint. It discusses the life events and his work and also the important people in father Pio's life. It just briefly outlines the historical period of the twentieth century. The next chapter, in order the second, is focused on two major social works of Saint Pio, of which he is the founder. It discusses the clinic "Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza" and "Prayer groups". Both of these works have been prospering and continuing to flourish nowadays. The third and last chapter is devoted to social aspects of life and personality of Father Pio. It describes the sense of humour, charismatic gifts, sacrament of reconciliation, suffering, prayer and Marian veneration, correspondence and also the popularity of the saint Pio of Pietrelcina .
