Characteristics of convective environment in ALADIN reanalysis

For the prediction and assessment of the potential for convective cloud formation, various characteristics of the convective environment are used. Values of CAPE, CIN, wind speed, and temperature at several standard levels are available from the ALADIN reanalysis outputs, from which wind shear and vertical temperature gradient can be calculated. Verification allows for point comparison with data from sounding measurements, for example, from Prague, Libuš.
Machining technology with the necessity of manual work

Manual work is still necessary and often irreplaceable. In most cases, it is combined with machine production. As an example of such work we have chosen the production of tin lead alloy organ pipes, which encompasses several machining processes. All aspects of production were analyzed, including specification of the materials used and the various production processes. A pipe was produced according to these specifications for illustration. Individual chapters presented special manual tools and specific machinery. The difficulty and originality of the given production was outlined. This is professional work requiring manual dexterity, logical thought, attention to detail and an artistic spirit. During production we obtained an image showing a part of the cross-section of the pipe perpendicular to its axis. The image shows the correct shape of the soldered joint and the tangential connection of both sides of the sheet. Several aspects of the pipe were evaluated. The final chapters include feedback from customers and a general assessment of this particular work.
Ethical values in the works of Ladislav Fuks

First part reveals important life milestones, which affects his philosophical mindedness reflected in his work, as well as his view of the literature and its values for a human. Second part of this thesis is focused on ethical values, which in Fuks works (Pan Theodor Munstdock, Spalovač mrtvol and Myši Natálie Mooshabrové) are the most occurred. The goal isn't only to show how the ethical values like life and death, truth and lie, good and evil, existence and absurdity affects character's lives in novels, but also their relativity. Adsorption and mobility of Al adatoms on Si(100) surface

The subject of the thesis is growth of aluminium structures one-dimensional chains on Si(100) surface. Growth characteristics of Al on Si(100) at room temperature and at higher temperature and various coverages were measured using STM. The results are discussed with respect to previous experiments and a way to find the value of activation energy of surface migration is proposed. An important part of the thesis is preparation and tests of a new low-temperature UHV apparatus for STM experiments. Functions of the apparatus are described. A way to prepare clean Si(100) surface as well as the methods of achieving atomic-scale resolution in STM were found in conditions previously unknown. A test of evaporators for Al and Sn is described. Al deposition has not been successful in the new apparatus yet. Sn deposition has been successful and low-temperature structures of tin on Si(100) were observed. They differ from room-temperature structures and contain kinks which were previously observed only in Al structures.
Čin magazine in years 1929-1939

The master's thesis Čin magazine in 1929 - 1939 deals with the cultural-political magazine Čin, which was issued in Prague in between the world wars. This left-wing and democratically orientated weekly, later a fortnightly, magazine focused on current cultural and public issues within former Czechoslovakia. The thesis aims to provide a thorough profile of what was an important and distinctive periodical in its time. Firstly, the thesis deals with outlining the notion of the magazine within the mass media, further on it describes the characteristics of the media landscape in the period of the first and second republic, where the printed media and their related area of problems are dealt with in detail. A subchapter on the cultural and political standing of Czechoslovakia in the 20s and 30s of the 20th century is also included, the focus is also on the position of the Čin magazine in the array of magazines of that time. The ensuing parts of the thesis already deal with the periodical itself, firstly in the period from 1929 to 1936, when the magazine was under the leadership of Marie Majerová, and secondly in the period of leadership of Bohumil Přikryl, that is from 1937 to 1939. The prevalence of anal HPV infection in women with high grade cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and its relation to sexual behavior

Background: More than 90 % of anal cancers are caused by high-risk human papillomavirus (HR HPV) infection and a history of cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) and cervical cancer is established as possible risk factor. The aim of this study was to demonstrate relationship between anal and cervical HPV infection in women with different grades of CIN and microinvasive cervical cancer and to determinate potential risk factors for concurrent cervical-anal HPV infection. Methods: A total of 272 women were enrolled in the study. The study group included 172 women who underwent conization for high-grade CIN or microinvasive cervical cancer. The control group consisted of 100 women with non-neoplastic gynecologic diseases or biopsy- confirmed CIN 1. All participants completed a questionnaire detailing their medical history and sexual risk factors and were subjected to anal and cervical HPV genotyping using Lynear array test (Roche). Results: Cervical, anal, and concurrent cervical-anal HPV infections were detected in 82.6 %, 48.3 % and 42.4 % of women in the study group, and in 28.0 %, 26.0 % and 8.0 % of women in the control group, respectively. In the first part we investigate the interaction of ethylene, a small unsaturated molecule, with tin and indium 1D chains grown on Si(001) - 2 × 1. The chains consist of dimers structurally analogous to the dimers of the underlying Si(001) - 2 × 1 surface. Aided by photoelectron spectroscopy we find that the Sn chains are less reactive than the Si(001) surface and that the absence of a π dimer bond renders indium chains inert.
