Poland in the news of the Czech News Agency and the Czech Television with the focus on governmental reforms in 2015 - 2018

The diploma thesis analyses news coverage of some of the most important reforms conducted by the Polish conservative government. It focuses on public media services: Czech News Agency and the main news, Události, of the Czech Television, and the time period of years 2015 - 2018. The work consists of two parts. Theoretical part zeroes in on the description of theoretical concepts, general description of mentioned public media services and their foreign news coverage, particular types of agency and TV news. Separate chapter summarizes the differences between the Czech News Agency and the Czech Television, their purpose and news production itself. Another chapter concentrates on Poland - its political system and historical background of the last decades. The current situation in the country since 2015 is also outlined - the results of the last elections, current government and its reforms and intended changes. The reform of justice, reform of media and a plan to almost ban the abortions are described in details. These three reforms are the bases of Author's analysis. The practical part describes in detail results of both quantitative and qualitative methods chosen for this work. The ČTK as a source of main television news sessions

This diploma thesis is describing the influence of Czech Press Agency on major television news programs. Theoretical part is defining, what the agenda setting is and how medias handles agency news. Significant part is also dealing with description a characteristic of media functioning. In practical part, author is measuring the influence of Czech Press Agency by using method known as quantitative content analysis. As proven, agency have a significant, but limited influence on televion broadcasting news. Thesis in last part deals in detail with the analysis of this influence.
Elections of directors of public service media from perspectiveof selected newspapers and news websites

The Masterˈs thesis deals with an answer of public service media and a way of their representation in selected newspapers and news websites. Due to the importance of public service media as a guarantee of the balanced and neutral news and because of their specifics to commercial media, this thesis focuses on the way the other media write about them, on the example of the last elections of directors of public service media. The first part explains the specifics of public service media, their progression, the actual position and problems. Further it concerns concrete, czech public service media and there searched phenomenon, i. e. the election of director of public service media too. The second part is my own research. I researched the way of representation of the election of director of Czech Radio in the year 2016 and the elections of directors of Czech Television and Czech News Agency in the year 2017 in the journals Hospodářské noviny, Mladá fronta DNES and Právo and on the news websites IHNED.cz, iDNES.cz and Novinky.cz. The method of research was qualitative content analysis due to keep an open access to the found informations. Multimedialization of production of Czech news agency focusing on audio and video service

Diplomová práce Multimedializace produkce České tiskové kanceláře se zaměřením videoservis se zabývá proměnami, které se v agentuře udály v nástupem digitalizace, internetu a moderních technologií. ČTK se působením těchto vlivů stala konvergovanou multimediální agenturou nabízející kromě tradičního textového a fotografického zpravodajství také infografické, zvukové a audiovizuální zpravodajství. Práce popisuje, na základě rozhovorů se zaměstnanci ČTK, jak probíhal vznik a vývoj audioservisu od roku 2000 a videoservisu od roku 2006 do současnosti. Zároveň průběhu let transformoval objem těchto servisů. Pomocí kvantitativní obsahové analýzy zjišťuje, jakým způsobem se proměnili mluvčí ve zvukovém zpravodajství a zastoupení zdrojů ve videozpravodajství.
The news of Czech news agency from Latin America

The aim of the thesis The news of Czech News Agency from Latin America is to document the form of the Czech News Agency's text news from Latin America, to reveal whether the agency fulfills its obligation to inform about events abroad according to Act No. 517/92 Coll., and also to expand the very limited number of studies related to this topic. This work deals with news agencies and takes into consideration the CTK as a public institution and outlines the characteristics of Latin America and its relations with our country. Using quantitative content analysis, I find out how much space CTK spends on the countries of the North, Central and South America, which countries are re-informing and which countries virtually ignore in its news. I examine what priority messages are usually assigned and which areas of public life are concerned. Last but not least, I compare the monitored reality from the first half of 2016 to the first half of 2006 to reveal how much informing about Latin America has changed over the course of a decade. At thesis I provide a detailed analysis of Czech News Agency's production from Latin American countries, which no one has ever dealt with in the Czech environment so far, and present the results of my analysis in the tables and charts.
The comparison of reflection of second highest czech football and hockey competitions in news service of Czech news agency in 2015/2016

The diploma thesis "The comparison of reflection of second highest Czech football and hockey competitions in news service of Czech news agency in 2015/2016" deals with media coverage of second football league and first hockey league in order to find out how Czech news agency holds the news service for its clients, who rely on its service, in particular season. The thesis also includes the comparison of the way of informing about both competitions. On behalf of the second football league and the first hockey league the thesis maps the production of sport reporters in Czech news agency especially from quantitative perspective. The thesis focuses on analysis of agency service especially on particular periods: a week before the start of the season, the first and the tenth round, a week before the start of spring part of football league and a week before the start of play off's pre-round and also key moments in both competitions. In theoretical part the thesis briefly reminds the history of both competitions, the development of their game systems and also offers a summary of the most important events of 2015/2016. The Ukrainian crisis in the news coverage made by ČTK and its comparison with ČT news with focus on crucial events within the conglict

This diploma thesis points out differences in the reporting methods of CTK and CT, the two public service's media, regarding the Ukrainian crisis. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on both of these media's properties with emphasis on their foreign coverageas well as related medial terms' definitions. One chapter is reserved to cover Ukraine as a state and its political history since the SovietUnion's disintegration through to 2014 and the Ukrainian crisis development; further studying the relationship between Ukraine and the Russian Federation resulting in the crisis in 2013. In the practical part of the thesis quantitative and qualitative methods are used to determine how much attention and screen-time both media dedicated to the crisis, which parties were given opportunities to comment and identify other sources of information. Keeping in mind the fact that CT had four reporters on site at it's disposal, the thesis tries to find out how big of an influence that had on the overall production, processing and tone of the television news and to what degree the production of both media agreed or diverged.
