Motivation of pediatric nursing students for the pediatric nursing profession
HRABOVSKÁ, Alžběta
The theoretical part of the thesis was divided into two parts: the first one introduces the field of pediatric nursing, the second one focuses on motivation. In the first chapter which is relates to pediatric nursing, the history of pediatrics is described, the concept of pediatrics role of pediatric nurse, pediatric nursing education, competencies and scope of pediatric nursing is explained. In the second chapter, which concerns motivation, the concept of motivation, sources of motivation, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, need and motive, motivation to learn and to work are described. The aim of this study was to investigate students' motivation to study paediatric nursing and to find out whether paediatric nursing students' preferences for practice in the future profession of paediatric nursing change during their studies. Quantitative research methodology was emloyed for the empirical segment of the thesis, where data collection was conducted throught self-constructed questionnaire. The questionnaire survey was conducted at selected universities with a Pediatric Nursing program. The schools participating in the research are the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of the South Bohemian University, the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ostrava and the 2nd Faculty of Medicine. The research population for the research data consisted of 96 respondents. The quantitative results showed the following. The first hypothesis, that the greatest motivating factor for the profession of pediatric nurse is a positive relationship with children, was not confirmed. According to the graph, the strongest motivating factor for studying pediatric nursing is the response of helping children, which was converted with a score of 3.9 on the scoring scale. A positive relationship with children was converted to a score of 3.8. Job security was converted to a score of 3.5. Job prestige was converted to a score of 3.1 on the scoring scale. The least motivating factor (compared to the other responses) is financial reward, which was converted to a score of 2.6. The second hypothesis, that preferences for practice in the future profession of pediatric nursing vary with the length of study, was not supported. The third hypothesis, that preferences for practice in the future profession of pediatric nursing change depending on the form of study, was not confirmed. The second and third hypotheses were tested by questions that were only addressed to second and third year students. The statistical chi-square test was used to test the validity of hypotheses H2 and H3. The null hypothesis was tested against the alternative hypothesis at a significance level of 5 %. The bachelor's thesis can provide a closer look at the motivation for studying for a future career as a pediatric nurse directly from the perspective of pediatric nursing students. It can also serve as feedback for faculty to determine if students are satisfied with their studies. The results of this work were presented at the SVOČ and will be shared with the participating faculty.
Radiotherapy bone metastases
ŠIMKOVÁ, Kristina
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of diagnosis and treatment of bone metastases. Radiotherapy is a key element in the therapy of bone metastases, serving to relieve pain and improve the quality of life of patients with advanced cancer. The theoretical part reviews the available literature on the structure of bone, description of the diagnosis of bone metastases, and their subsequent treatment. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to answer research questions. The practical part focused on quantitative research. For the purposes of the research, research questions were first established, followed by data collection necessary to answer them at the radiotherapy department of the hospital in České Budějovice for the years 2021, 2022, and 2023. Hospital information system NIS was used to obtain patient information and the nature of their illness, and also the Aria planning system to verify information on irradiation techniques and applied doses. The research study included 224 patients. The collected data were then visualized using tables and graphs to facilitate comparison. From the results of the practical part, it was apparent that bone metastases of patients treated with radiotherapy at the hospital in České Budějovice most commonly affected the spine, pelvis, and long bones. The age range was diverse, but the issue of bone metastases mostly concerned patients in the age range of 60-80 years. The applied hypofractionation regimen was chosen considering the location of the metastasis and the patient's current condition. The resulting data and their analysis can serve as feedback to the staff of the respective radiotherapy department. The theoretical processing of the thesis can be used as a framework educational material for students of the field of radiological assistance at ZSF.

The changes of Rubisco amount in Norway spruce grown at gradient of altitudes
Tomasz, Teresa ; Vítová, Eva (referee) ; Hrstka, Miroslav (advisor)
The study deals with differences of Rubisco enzyme content in Norway spruce needles (Picea abies L.) growing at different altitudes, thus at different concentrations of carbon dioxide. The collection of samples was performed in Jeseníky by Global Change Research Centre, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. The samples of exposed and shaded needles were collected from 39 spruce trees in three altitudes – low (L), medium (M) and high (H). To separate Rubisco enzyme, the SDS-PAGE method was used, the content od Rubisco was determined by computer densitometry. The results of exposed needles confirmed that Rubisco content decreases with increasing altitude, however, in the case of shaded needles, there was no proof of a significant influence of altitudes on Rubisco enzyme amount. At low altitude, Rubisco content was significantly higher in exposed needles in comparison with shaded needles. At medium and high altitude no significant difference was detected between exposed and shaded needles.
Biotopové nároky lejska malého (Ficedula parva) v lesích jižní a východní Moravy
Holek, Michal
This study investigates the habitat requirements of the Red-breasted Flycatcher at 41 sites in the Drahanská vrchovina, Chřiby, Hostýnsko-vsetínská hornatina and Bílé Karpaty based on the observed abundance of the species in the breeding season 2022. At the sites, the locations of its occurrence and the locations of checkpoints without the presence of the lei were recorded inside and outside the site. Stand characteristics were then collected at these points and then analysed for their statistical significance for the species' occurrence. Forty-seven Red-breasted Flycatchers were recorded at the study sites. Distance from water, forest development stage, amount of dead wood, distance from the edge of the stand and beech (Fagus sylvatica) cover had a significant effect on the occurrence of the Red-breasted Flycatcher. Distance from water emerged as the most significant characteristic, with 51 % of individuals found within 90 m of a watercourse. Red-breasted Flycatcher preferred emergent and, to a lesser extent, mature logs with significant amounts of dead wood. These were mainly stands with beech cover above 80 %. The Red-breasted Flycatcher was shown to be an interior-nesting species, as 85 % of individuals were found more than 100 m from the edge of the stand. The thesis concludes by discussing the findings and comparing them with the literature. From the results, recommendations for forest management are proposed for effective conservation of the Red-breasted Flycatcher in forest habitats.

Pěničková, Dominika ; Kočíb, Tomáš (advisor) ; Pravečková, Petra (referee)
Title: The reasons of the early career termination of high-performance tennis players. Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis was to find out and analyze the causes or reasons leading to the involution in women's performance tennis, especially to their early career termination, while their goal was to reach the top level. Method: In this diploma thesis, I used a qualitative type of research. Chosen was a case study variant. Information was collected through semi-structured interview and document data analysis. Results: The survey results prove that there is not one main reason for the early termination of the career of high-performance female tennis players, but several voluntary and involuntary combinations of reasons that led to the termination of the career. Female players end their careers early mainly because of not reaching the required level and the related voluntary focus on studies and future profession. These reasons are a combination of long-term sporting failure (psychological reason) and free choice to leave (personal reason). Other reasons for premature termination are physiological problems, most often injury or illness, which forced female players to stop active activity. Key words: Sports career, reasons for termination sports career, early termination
