The theme of the work is normalization art in public space. It characterizes prefab housing as a specific public space and works of art as cultivation tools of this space. It looks for the reasons for the high number of works of art from the normalization period in public space, approximates artistic trends and tendencies in Czechoslovak sculpture from the 1950s to the 1980s, and provides an overview of databases that specialize in the documentation of normalization sculptures. It presents an overview of sculptures on the Prosek quarter, summarizes their current state and characterizes them from various points of view. For the didactic part, he chooses 3 sculptures that represent different tendencies and styles of normalization sculpture. It interprets the sculptures, puts them in the context of the time and the work of their authors. The goal of the work is that students recognize and perceive works of art through various activities, to reflect on them in dialogues (with classmates and the teacher) and in their own creations. Thanks to getting to know and perceiving the works of art in their surroundings, students develop a relationship with artistic creation and the place where they live.

The way of grasping a tradition linked to a specific region or landscape refers to personal experience in the practical part. Due to the use of the blueprint technique in the artistic part of this thesis, a more detailed introduction of this negative indigo print from its history to its current use in art is also...

The author distinguishes two theoretical-methodological approaches to the analysis of urban environment. The first approach is ontological-historical, ethic perspective describing the city with the use of theoretical devices of urbanism and phenomenology of architecture. The second approach - anthropological - is an emic approach studying the interpretation of a place by social agents. The author shows on numerous examples, how do the people identify with a place and what is the role of the physical attributes of the place and its memory in the process of place identification. The relation between ontological-historical and anthropological perspective is according to the author dialogic and he is looking for points of intersection. He shows that the consequence of one-sided way of interpretation is insufficient understanding for place identity. In other words, it is not able to answer convincingly the...
