The effect of incorporating music into a comprehensive neurological rehabilitation programme on balance, gait, self-sufficiency and psyche: an experimental non-randomised study
Vokáčová, Zuzana ; Hlinovská, Jana (advisor) ; Řasová, Kamila (referee)
The main objective: To empirically assess the impact of integrating therapy incorporating elements of music and dance into a comprehensive rehabilitation plan for neurological patients, with a focus on its effects on their balance, gait, self- reliance, and psychological well-being compared to a control group. Methods: In a non-randomized experimental study, two groups will experience a comprehensive neurological program following the standard protocol of FTN in Prague. The experimental group will receive additional therapy incorporating music and dance elements (2-3 times a week, 8 sessions over 4 weeks, each lasting 40 minutes). Participants will undergo pre - and post-program testing, with analysis comparing results between groups using a two-sample t-test, and within-group changes using a paired t-test. Results: Improvements in balance and gait in Tinetti test were seen in both groups, but the differences weren't statistically significant, making it unclear which group improved more. Other gait tests (TUG test and 6 MWT) showed no significant changes. Both groups saw significant improvement in self-efficacy measured by the FIM scale, with the control group showing a superior improvement. Psychological evaluation also improved in SF-36 in both groups, but without statistical significance. Thus,...

Title: Pregnancy in woman with spinal cord injury from perspective of occupational therapist Abstract: This bachelor thesis is dedicated to identifying the area of occupational therapist support and the use of occupational therapy during pregnancy in women with spinal cord injury to achieve self-sufficiency and influence quality of life during this period. It also looks at defining areas where increased assistance is needed compared to the pre-pregnancy and trimester conditions. The theoretical part focuses on the areas of counselling as one of the occupational therapist's job responsibilities, which includes items of planning, preparation, education and training in the areas of preparation for childcare, preparation for the delivery room, preparation of compensatory aids, focus on quality of life and psyche of the pregnant woman with spinal cord injury and ADL training. In the practical part, the thesis uses a questionnaire as a method of data collection. The questionnaire focuses on general information about the pregnant woman, and mainly on personal activities of daily life, assistance and occupational therapy intervention. It showed that in pregnant women with spinal cord lesions, self-sufficiency in ADL decreases as pregnancy progresses, being lowest in the third trimester. This is highest for...
Assessment of physical fitness in seniors of Prague 12
Dusová, Veronika ; Bunc, Václav (advisor) ; Jandová, Soňa (referee)
Assessment of physical fitness in seniors of Prague 12 Abstract: his final thesis is focused on assessment of muscular condition and on an influence of lifestyle on a body composition and muscle strength of upper and lower limbs of seniors. Since the end of the last century there is no longer the aim to prolong human life but its quality improvement. This can be achieved by active lifestyle and regular physical activity. The problem is that older people do not perform movement and consequently they lose muscle mass quickly. That is why it is important to focus on the rating of muscular apparatus and strength. This thesis deals with basic age attributes. It explains the higher level of muscle productivity and physical activities. It also warns about the consequences of the passive way of life. The main goal of this thesis is the evaluation of the current level of muscle productivity of the elderly sample of Prague 12. The partial goal is to evaluate self-sufficiency and independence of a research group. This research group was formed by nine senior women aged from 70 to 85 and by four men aged from 71 to 82. The thesis evaluates overall participants muscle productivity related to their lifestyle and self sufficiency. The research is a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative part...
Design of a Self-sufficient Residential Module for Desert Areas
Novotný, Viktor ; Blaha, Tomáš (referee) ; Křenek, Ladislav (advisor)
A growing number of today's travellers are realizing that deserts, despite their apparent emptiness, have much to offer. Those who want to experience the desert intensely go on multi-day walking pilgrimages in large groups accompanied by guides with camels carrying food, equipment and water. Not everyone is necessarily comfortable with the level of unfreedom that comes with dependence on a group. This thesis offers a solution by designing one of a set of living modules between which a pair of travellers can wander independently. The design of the module is inspired by local buildings. The modules are adapted to desert conditions, easily transportable to the site, providing basic comfort, sufficient water and electricity generation.

Biom
Bolcek, Roman ; Tholt, Tomáš (referee) ; Vítek, Jiří (advisor)
Our planet has been facing enormous challenges over the last century, caused by population growth, an ever-evolving industry, resulting in ever-increasing CO2 production, rising water levels, misuse of agricultural land and the extinction of animal species. This causes the destruction of the Biome. Architectural and urban tendencies in the construction of cities, which do not change even today, use the maximum area, materials that cannot be recycled, also have a large share in this. Insufficient use of renewable resources, modern agriculture, self-sufficiency, both housing and urban structures. The reason for not using these technologies is largely a political and commercial problem. The aim of this work is to examine the problems we face today and find meaningful solutions. Change existing architectural and urban trends. To create a self-sufficient structure in places where Biomes were destroyed and to create new ones accordingly. These places often have poor living conditions, such as high temperatures, lack of drinking water and overcrowding. With the help of simple rules of working with the landscape and the use of modern technology, create a new biosphere environment, change the climatic conditions in a given place and create suitable conditions for the life of both plant and animal communities. The structure should be inhabited by a certain number of people who will live in modules that will be fully self-sufficient, following the ISS model. Provide plenty of drinking water, food and energy. The structure should be created from plastic waste by new construction technologies, such as 3D printing using nanotechnology and carbon fiber. This should make it fully recyclable and renewable. The goal is to work with one structure and subsequently create another structure.

Architecture of the extreme
Nohejl, Jakub ; Müller, Rudolf (referee) ; Kaftan, Martin (advisor)
Inhospitable environment of mountain ridges was considered uninhabitable for a long time of human civilization. Adverse weather with extreme fluctuations and difficult accessibility discouraged many people interested in development of this location. However, there still were objects that tried to withstand the weather. One of the examples is the exposed chalet Chata na Rozcestí located on the ridge of the Krkonoše Mountains at an altitude of 1,349 m above sea level. The chalet has been constantly struggling with the inhospitable environment of almost 90 years. Its aim is to provide shelter and refreshments for tourists passing by. Over time, all existing buildings in this location suffered from the bad weather. Due to the high operation demands of the current building, the owner is very interested in rebuilding the chalet. The design of chalet Chata na Rozcestí brings a new perspective on the problematics of this locality. In response to the surrounding landscape of the Krkonoše National Park, the design works not only with weather conditions, but also in terms of sustainability and self-sufficiency.
Self-Sufficient Home for 9000 Inhabitants
Valový, Přemysl ; Rudiš, Viktor (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
The objective of this diploma project is to propose a new self-sufficient city for 9000 inhabitants. The city as a phenomenon accompanying mankind for centuries has become an integral part of a physical and cultural heritage of our civilization. Accumulation of its population, ideas and material possessions always led to the remarkable act of creativity and efforts, that was always pushing mankind further. Nowadays cities are faced with a myriad of crises, both economic and social. However we shouldn't forget, with a view to the future, the impending ecological crisis. The rapid growth of the past is followed by a gradual decay in the current age. Moreover, in today's globalized society, the town becomes materially totally dependent on its surroundings. It drains resources from less developed land to feed its inhabitants. We can hardly predict consequences that would arise if these resources were cut off. With the precipitous pace of urban growth and migration of the world's population into densely urbanized areas* arise to us a question, if in these non-urban (agricultural) areas will be still somebody, who will nourish these future metropolis? * (since 2010, more than a half of the world population lives in cities) The aim to create a new self-sufficient city isn't a kind of compensation for contemporary cities, but an attempt to create a working model that would be generally applicable on a present towns. It should hint the way, which they could take to achieve self-sufficiency, less dependence on imports, functional community life reinforcing a higher unity and sophisticated environmental legacy for future generations. The goal of these efforts is not a "moving the population into this model city", but the movement of ideas from model town into existing cities.

Malečková, Zuzana ; Nováková, Petra (advisor) ; Nováková, Olga (referee)
BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Name, Surname: Zuzana Malečková Supervisor: Mgr. Petra Novotná Consultant: Bc. Aneta Křivánková Title: Occupational therapy in the rehabilitation of patients after fracture of the distal radius and hand Abstract: This is a theoretical-practical work. The theoretical part briefly describes the anatomy and kinesiology of the upper limb with a focus on the hand and wrist, and then presents a summary of the most common fractures in this body part. The last and the longest chapter is about the possibilities of occupational therapy for patients fractures of the distal radius and hand, especially in the period after removal of fixation. Occupational therapy has a very wide application for these patients. Functional disorders of the hand and wrist, which are a frequent complication of fracture treatment, are often closely related to the limitation of self-sufficiency and have a great impact on the patient's quality of life. The aim of the practical part is chosen and verify the occupational therapy methods for people with fractures of the distal radius and hand. This section contains case reports of three patients, two of whom suffered a distal radius fracture and one with fracture of the fifth metacarpal. Each case report contains a detailed initial and discharge examination with a focus...
