Pisárky boating center
Filatova, Natalia ; Obrtlík, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The topic of the bachelor's thesis is the design adaptation of the area of the former water treatment plant in the Pisárky district of Brno for the creation of a new building for a water sports center, utilizing existing structures of settling tanks, and adjacent areas to establish a water sports center. The center's design also aligns with studies for the modification of the Svratka River channel and the creation of a water canal. The architectural concept aims to connect the exterior with the interior. The mass solution is derived from several key points. Firstly, the site is bordered by Pisárecká Street to the south and Žabovřeská Street to the east, intersecting at an overpass of a multilevel interchange. This creates a noisy space, making it essential to establish a "barrier" to create a private and quiet area for relaxation with a view of the river and Pisárky Hill. The sports center building echoes the shape of the streets, with the highest point of the building located at the overpass, and the roof descending along both streets. On these two facades with minimal glass surfaces, the river-facing facades connect to the surrounding nature with glass elements. Secondly, it was necessary to respect the facilities for water sports enthusiasts, situated closest to the river for easy access. Therefore, the water sports center is located several meters lower than the sports center building and is embedded into the terrain along Žabovřeská Street. Additionally, a waterfront area along the river and canal will be designed, connected by descending sidewalks to Pisárecká and Žabovřeská Streets. The shape of the building and the waterfront respects the form of the river and the water canal. This center will serve members of the water sports club and residents of all age groups.
Living with the river. Svitava transformation in Brno.
Bystroň, Tomáš ; Zadražilová, Miroslava (referee) ; Wittmann, Maxmilian (advisor)
The aim of the project is to transform the former factory site between Valchařská Street and the Svitava River. As pointed out in the pre-diploma thesis (BYSTROŇ Tomáš, Kde budeme bydlet Brno), the current function of the site no longer corresponds to the potential of the site. On the other hand, in terms of location and proximity to natural features, the site seems very favourable for the location of a new residential quarter, which will benefit from the waterfront and the surrounding parks and woodland, as well as from very good connections to public transport and through it to the centre of Brno.

The theme of the diploma thesis "Brno waterfront - rehabilitation of the Brno rivers and their surroundings" is creating an urban proposal in Brno, Zábrdovice, on the eastern waterfront of the Svitava river. The intention is to use the potential of the area and create the possibility of lucrative housing by river with a commercial ground floor, services, leisure time park with a multifunctional playground and easy direct access to the Svitava river. The studied location, has an area of 6.32 hectares andis defined mainly by the Zábrdovická Street and the Svitava River near the former Premonstratensian Monastery, which now serves as a Military Hospital. At present, the location has mainly low-floor industrial buildings with storage and expedition functions. The proposed buildings relate to existing buildings on the east and west banks of the Svitava River. They have the form of four to six storey blocks, which are characteristic for this area. The park connects to the revitalized eastern embankment of the river at the site of a new footbridgethat connects both rive sides and stairs. They provide space formeetings and relaxation, but also serve as a flood control in the event of a water inflow. Along the Svitava River there is a sidewalk with street alleyways and access to the river.

Frgalová, Anna ; Zoubek, Michal (referee) ; Sochor, Jan (advisor)
The specified location is a place of mixed styles, forms and shapes. The most important part is the functionalist Sokol club building, which was taken as a decisive element around. Trying to move closer to this form, I choose the modern shape resulting in a simple application of the "ribbon" winding through the area. It´s articulation and horizontal proportions follows the Sokol club.
