Acceptance of visual impairment in the productive age

The bachelor thesis consists of a theoretical and a research part. It deals with the acceptance of visual impairment in the working age, specifically looking at acquired visual impairment. The theoretical part defines congenital and acquired visual impairment, then includes the most common causes of visual impairment, its consequences and the associated psychological changes, then describes the possibilities of successful acceptance in the form of a foreign study, and finally deals with the possibilities of social rehabilitation and its forms. The aim of the research is to describe how people reflect on their process of acceptance of sight loss and what areas have influenced this acceptance and what the differences are between male and female experiences in relation to their personality traits. Using qualitative research in the form of semi-structured interviews with three respondents, it became clear that the most significant change for respondents was a change in mindset and motivation to cope with the crisis situation. Furthermore, monitoring one's own progress towards self-sufficiency and the support of those around them proved to have a great influence on the acceptance process. This thesis consists of two main parts. The first part contains a Czech translation of the introduction and following two chapters of the book Un cheval chez soi en 10 leçons. The chapters are called Acheter son cheval and Son environnement. The second part includes a commentary of the translation, describing a translation analysis of the original text. It also deals with problems of the translation and their solutions as well as methods and shifts used during the process of translation.
