The role of book influencers in realation to the publishers, booksellers and readers

The diploma thesis deals with book influencers and their use by publishers and booksellers as a marketing tool. The thesis presents this modern phenomenon, its characteristics, principles, the most important book influencers in the Czech Republic and the online environment where book influencers operate. The aim was to find out the principles and conditions of cooperation between book influencers, publishers and booksellers, their relationships and the effect of the online content of book influencers on readers. The evaluation was carried out on the basis of a questionnaire survey with six book influencers, eight publishers, two booksellers and 662 readers. The research part shows us how these cooperations work in practice, whether it is a key marketing tool for publishers and booksellers, how it will develop in the future and what are the attitudes of all three examined groups to this phenomenon. At the same time, the research outlines the issue of blurring the differences between book influencers and literary critics, where we can notice considerable misunderstandings on the part of literary critics and rivalry. Christmas program offer of selected Czech full-format television stations in the years 2016-2020

The Bachelor's thesis offers answers to questions about Christmas television broadcasting of full-format stations in the period from 23rd to 26th December in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes the history and present of Christmas celebrations in the territory of the Czech Republic. It shows the differences which have arisen over time, between how Christmas was celebrated before and which of our traditions persist till today. Furthermore, the work offers basic information about rituals, production of the program scheme and broadcasting in general. The theoretical part also includes short subchapters on the history of television broadcasting in our territory and the regulation of television broadcasting. In addition to hypotheses and researched questions, the analytical part also comes with the characteristics of the researched sample, specifically with a short history of individual full-format stations. The analysis provides a description of individual television programs on all of the above-mentioned days, which usually took place from 6 am to 10 pm. For comparison, there are included in the analysis both commercial (Prima, Nova) and public (ČT1, ČT2) program offer. Profile of female publishers/editors and their media image

This bachelor thesis deals with the profile of women publishers / editors and their media image. The first part of the thesis presents the traditional role of women in the field of book culture in the historical context. The main topic is selected important women publishers and editors and publishing houses in which they worked and continue to operate during the thirty-year period from 1989 to 2019. In this part of the work, I try to bring their comprehensive profiles, analyse their professional approach and differences in their activities. The next chapter consists of the introduction of other important women publishers / editors working in the domestic book culture. The second part presents an analysis of the media image of these selected women publishers and editors. The monitored media were both cultural and literary magazines and daily newspapers. The reference period covers the years 1989 to 2019. In a separate chapter, the work also brings two interviews with our key publishers, Ivana Pecháčková and Markéta Hejkalová.
Study of a movie named Josef Fritzel: Story of a Monster and its comparation with real facts

In my bachelor thesis named Study of a movie named Josef Fritzel: Story of a Monster and its comparation with real facts I deal with description of the case as such, with help from book Josef Fritzl: monster from Amstetten. I work with circumstances, which make the story of this case and I follow said story to its end in courtroom. Second part of my thesis is dedicated to documentary movie written in the title of a thesis. I analyze the way this movie tells the story of Fritzl and his daughter and also statements of their friends and family members. Then I compare both parts (book and a movie) and I rate them in the next chapter, which is connected to another one focusing on czech, slovak and foreign reviews. There are more ways of portraying real facts in my bachelor thesis than just information from the book - it's also a media image of this case, to which is dedicated the fifth chapter. I analyze some of czech, foreign and tabloid news in few sub-chapters. Psychology also plays an important role in this topic and because of it I analyze three main characters in this story - Josef, Rosemarie and Elisabeth Fritzl - psychologically in the next part of my thesis. Female reporters in Syria

Batchelor thesis "Female reporters in Syria" is constructed as a comprative analysis of the work of two female reporters Janine di Giovanni and Zaina Erhaim. Both of them have a life-long experience in war reporting and the war in Syria is their common long term interest. Theoretical section of this thesis is dedicated to the descritption of political situation in Syria, history of women as war reporters and the position women have nowadays in the field of war journalism. The practical section analysis and compares the selected work of both journalists to create overview of their work in terms of Syria war. The hypothesis is that the conditions for the journalists born in Syria and the ones working for the international media would differ in certain aspects of their work process. This hypothesis is demostrated by four media outlets published by the two journalist on the subject of war in Syria. The focus is primarily on the differences in the work process, overall safety and access to sources. Other important part is focused on the different approaches of the West and the Arabic world, which both have a different opinions, ideologies and most importantly information. The bachelor thesis Online movie reviews of a biographic Bohemian Rhapsody and users comments in Česko-Slovenská filmová databáze compares and analyzes domestic and foreign selected movie internet reviews and user comments on Česko-Slovenská filmová databáze and foreign databases. The first part of the thesis deals with the theoretical definition of the genre of review, criticism and commentary, the biographical film is defined and the dramatic structure of the film work is described. Following is the characteristics of the media that will be monitored in the thesis. The thesis describes Czech and foreign websites from which the reviews were drawn and also describes the essence of Czech and foreign film databases. The second part is dedicated to the Queen, its beginnings and successes and the life of the frontman of the band Freddie Mercury is analyzed. The thesis further analyzes the film Bohemian Rhapsody, compares reality with the depiction in the film and deals with the complications that arose during the shooting. Thesis Alena Slezáková and her position in media. Biographical study deals with career of a journalist, who has witnessed during her activie years in media important events of Czech and Czechoslovakian history. Since the year 1964 she worked in Lidová demokracie, Lidové noviny, Mladá fronta DNES and magazines Naše rodina and Týden. In the year 1969 she was forbidden from entering parliament. She was allowed to return after Velvet Revolution, when she also started to work on education of young and beginning journalists. In the end of her career, right before she retired, she became a book reviewer. This biographical study uses method of oral history, which means that author of this thesis interviewed Alena Slezáková regularly. It also uses method of qualitative content analysis of her texts, that informed about events in politics and society in Czech Republic and Czechoslovakia. Thesis also mentions important historic affairs, so the life and work of Slezáková can me contextualized. Aim of this thesis was not only to describe life of Alena Slezáková but also to outline transformations in media she witnessed - censorship and its dissolution, new media law and transformation of party's press. This thesis called "Film magazines and their comparation in Czech audiovisual media and on the internet in years 2012-2015" deals with phenomenon of audiovisual film magazines, which are published on the interner or broadcasted in traditional media - television or radio. In the first part the thesis concerns with the whole genre of audiovisual film magazine, which hasn't been much examined before and also its tradition and history in Czech republic with emphasis on television magazine Kinobox or radio magazine Filmový zápisník. In the second part the thesis presents contemporary audiovisual magazines about film and its protagonists. Thesis determines specifics of those magazones and their function in contemporary film journalism. Examined magazines are Film 2012-2015, Čelisti, Odvážné palce, Do kina and Týden v kině. Based on comparison of each of those magazines it determines trends, that magazines implemented during years 2012 to 2015 and if it happenned because of their mutual influence on each other. In the conclusion this thesis presents short prognosis and its aim is to outline which direction will audiovisual film magazines be heading in the next years and what role will they play in the evolution of film journalism in Czech republic.
