Development of passenger cars market in EU during the period of economic crisis in the years 2007 - 2012

This bachelor thesis analysis development of the automotive market in the EU during the period of the economic crisis in the years 2007 -- 2012 and is divided into three main chapters. The first part of the thesis describes the development of the automotive industry in the period before the economic crisis, whilst individual subchapters are aimed at the importance of the automotive market for GDP, export and employment rate in the EU member countries. The second chapter represents analysis of the situation on the market of passenger cars during the period from 2007 to 2012. This part of the thesis describes above all the implications of the economic crisis on the production and demand for the passenger cars in the EU. The third part is devoted to the current state which prevails on the European market with the passenger cars. This chapter also remarks the possible future developments and new trends in automotive market.
Analysis of adhesion of Latvia to the Eurozone

In this thesis are analyzed motives that led Latvia to adopt euro in a period of great recession. Positives and risks of adhesion to the Eurozone are analyzed from the point of view of Latvia as well as from the point of view of other member states. The topic of sustainability of EMU is marginally adressed as well.
Consolidated general government debt of the Czech Republic in the context of EU until 2012

The thesis deals with general government debt of the Czech Republic in the context of the European Union. It aims to objectively assess current situation and future prospects of the Czech Republic in terms of consolidated general government debt in the first place and general government deficit in the second place. The theoretical part explains economic terms and categories related to the main topic. It clarifies basic concepts such as general government debt, its structure, national accounts methodology, debt service or rating. The next part deals with the analysis of general government debt of the Czech Republic. First, it examines the debt of the Czech Republic separately and then in the context of the European Union. In this part of the thesis we should also find out the answer to the main question concerning assessment of the status and prospects of general government debt of the Czech Republic. Methods that are used in the analytical part are realized on the basis of current statistical data from Eurostat and the Czech Statistical Office.
Role of foreign direct investment in development of ASEAN-4 countries

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate role of foreign direct investment in development of ASEAN-4, i. e. Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines and Thailand, and to describe of its inflow. First chapter presents economic theories of development, its factors and development planning in ASEAN-4 countries. Second chapter describes FDI as a developmental factor. Last chapter evaluates impact of FDI on development.
Development aid and selected non-governmental organizations in the Czech Republic

This bachelor's thesis deals with the Czech development cooperation. Its aim is to analyse the provision of development aid of the Czech Republic, not only by government but also by non-governmental organizations (Bwindi Orphans, People in need and ADRA). The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part focuses on the substance of development aid, its reasons and goals. Moreover it is dedicated to the official development assistance of the Czech Republic. The practical part represents a case study based on my own research that deals with non-governmental organizations in the Czech Republic and their role in providing development assistance.
Current U.S. approach to regionalism

Work deals with the current U.S. approach to regionalism. In the first part of the work is firstly outlined the significance of the position of the U.S. against the background of their historical development and in the rest of the chapter stands the analysis of depth of NAFTA agreement. The second part analyzes the other negotiated and concluded agreements in the administration of the United States. In the end I compare the current depth of NAFTA to other depths of analyzed and concluded the agreements.
Position of McDonald's company in the U.S. market

This thesis deals with McDonald's and its current position in the U.S. market. The first chapter focuses on the company's history from the very beginnings to the present. It explains what was behind the success of McDonald's and how the company is different from most competitors. The second chapter focuses on the current situation in the U.S. market, the role of franchising in the fast food industry and McDonald's compared with its main competitors. The subject of the third chapter is the SWOT analysis. First, introducing the strengths and weaknesses of the company, then the potential opportunities and threats.
NAFTA and MERCOSUR: comparison of regional integration in America

The aim of my bachelor thesis is to compare two regional integration in America, namely NAFTA and Mercosur. An emphasis is put on business relations, trade and investments. First chapter deals with reasons for creating the integrations, also members of organizations are introduced. Next two parts analyse trade and foreign direct investment in both integration blocks. Finally, the perspectives of future development are explored, which includes the question of Free Trade Area of the Americas.
The comparison of the macroeconomic indicators of the biggest world economies with the focus on EU

The bachelor thesis deals with the economic situation of the European Union, which is currently facing a big crisis. The economic trend in the EU is studied in 2003 -- 2012 and compared with the economic situation in the USA and Japan. All three economies are analyzed by selected macroeconomic indicators - development of GDP, unemployment and inflation rate. The thesis shows how individual countries reacted to the economic downturn, which was caused by the crisis in 2008. It studies the economic position of analyzed economies nowadays and the final part aims to predict the situation in future.
Japan's regionalism (with emphasis on Asia)

This thesis deals with evolution of the Japanese approach to regionalism and at the same time evaluates the current state of regional integration of Japan. The first chapter focuses on the evolution that regionalism has undertaken and on the characteristic elements of regionalism in Asia. The second chapter covers the period of old regionalism and focuses on Japanese international relations, which influenced the Japanese approach to regionalism a lot. The last chapter focuses on the change in the Japanese approach towards regionalism at the edge of new regionalism and deals with the development of Japanese regional efforts in the new century. This chapter covers its relations with ASEAN and at the same time analyses regional integration efforts in relation to its crucial trade partners China and South Korea.
