Earnings profiles and money illusion
Todica, Doina ; Chytilová, Julie (advisor) ; Štika, Pavel (referee)
The main goal of the thesis is to test the existence of money illusion among the working population of the Republic of Moldova. The author of the thesis conducted a survey in March 2010, and results suggest that under the presence of rather high inflation, and a larger increase in nominal wage relative to real wage, Moldovan workers are prone to money illusion, this influences their earning profiles over time and across economic sectors; more than that this finding is important in explaining why workers change the economic sector, or why some sectors of the economy are characterized by grater fluctuations than other. To the author's best knowledge, this represents the first time a study of this kind is conducted in the Republic of Moldova.

This bachelor thesis deals with stress testing of the banking sector. Stress testing as a risk measurement technique has attracted much attention especially in recent years due to the increased instabilities in financial markets. This work defines two objectives. The aim of theoretical section is to provide a complex survey of stress testing principles and methodologies and to contribute to a better understanding of why stress tests are employed. The empirical section focuses on the credit risk in the Czech Republic. It tries to estimate whether there is an empirical relationship between the quality of credit portfolio of the Czech banking system and the development in key macroeconomic variables. For this purpose the econometric model of vector autoregression has been applied.

März, Jan ; Hlaváček, Michal (advisor) ; Todica, Doina (referee)
This thesis examines macroeconomic factors which influenced the Czech commercial real estate market between the years 2007 to 2010, dividing it in three basic segments - loading, office and retail. First we focus on describing the character of the market, how it differs from other areas of economic activities and what are these differences caused by. Next we create several models for particular real estate market quantities and from the results we conclude some fundamental facts about the functioning of the market. We interpret the role of the real estate yield as an instrument of the financial market which moderates the real estate market's reactions to changes in the economic environment.

Řehořová, Zuzana ; Janský, Petr (advisor) ; Todica, Doina (referee)
The aim of this work is to evaluate and compare the Czech Republic approach to developing countries. The evaluation is mainly based on Commitment to Development Index. Commitment to Development Index assesses 22 OECD DAC member countries on their overall approach to developing countries. It is published annually by the Center for Global Development. I computed and partly estimated the index for the Czech Republic and consequently compared and commented the results. The Czech Republic score is slightly below those of all EU member countries included in the index finally ending up at 20th place out of 23 countries. The Czech Republic scores well in environment and trade component and badly in trade. I also made some comments on the design of the index.
