Performance Management in Drama Theatre and Musical Theatre Sphere

Doctoral thesis deals with the performance management in drama theatre and musical theatre sphere. The dissertation aims to create a model of performance management for the sphere as a problem solving tool related to the performance management during the rehearsal period. The paper is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. Theoretical part deals with current trends and methods, problems and challenges of HR Management, evolving role of HR professionals and issue of performance management in general. Furthermore, the part deals with management of the cultural sector, human resources management in a theatre, activities of the rehearsal period and with performance in the drama theatre and musical theatre sphere. Empirical part comprises an analysis of the qualitative research, design of the performance management model and model verification via expert estimates. Important findings (such as activities significant for the performance management in the drama theatre and musical theatre sphere, the most common problems of the performance management in the sphere and their solution proposals etc.) are summarized in the conclusion of the doctoral thesis.
Analysis of the learning and development system in organization

This Bachelor thesis is concerned with the analysis of the learning and development system in organization in the firm ALS Czech Republic s.r.o. The aim of this work is to evaluate the educational system of this society, to identify his strengths and weaknesses and to propose possible improvements of the system. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and analytical. The theoretical part includes introduction to the topic. First, corporate education and staff development are defined, further work is focused on the steps of the educational process, such as identification of needs, planning, implementation and evaluation of the educational process. The theoretical part is followed by an analytical section that deals with the analysis of the education system in the company.
Evaluation of employees in a company

The thesis concerns an apparaisal of employees in a particular company. The aim is to analyse the current system of personnel evaluation. Then I suggest based on theoretical knowledge acquired from the professional literature, changes leading to making this system of evaluation more efficient.
Issue of employment of people aged 50+

The Bachelor Thesis deals with the issue of employing people aged 50+. It is focusing on people, who are in productive age, partially on people already in retirement. Objective of the Thesis is to define individual aspects of employing such a person, introduce to predicated age structure of population, clear up legislative frame and relevant judicature, as well as to make a summary of steps already done in issue of employing people over 50 years old within the Czech Republic and the European Union. Analytic part contains secondary data and its analysis which purpose is to complete the full image of this task. Practical part's objective is bringing forward and evaluate actual situation in the Czech Republic and Czech labour market.
Recruiting and selection of employees in the company

This thesis focuses on the personal activity of recruitment and selection. It is split into theoretical - methodological and analytical part. Its aim is to describe and analyze the entire process of recruitment and selection of employees in the chosen company, followed by its comparison to the theoretical part. The thesis is based on literature as well as internal information provided by human resources in the company. At the end of the thesis the whole process inside the company is evaluated by the author including some ideas which could help to improve the efficiency of staff activities in company.
Training and development of management at Česká spořitelna

This thesis analyzes how managers are trained and developed at the Czech Savings Bank. The aim of this study is to thoroughly analyze management education and training in the bank and eventually propose various measures or improvements. Another key factor which this study explores is the role of the employee and his/her potential to develop into a manager or a leader. Leadership development is one of the key factors in management training today. The thesis takes a methodological approach and defines certain terms, which creates a basis for the practical part. The practical part of this study analyzes the system of managerial education in the Czech Saving Bank and examines the question of leadership in this context. I conclude by providing an overall evaluation of management training in the Czech Saving Bank, pointing out both its strengths and eventual weakness.
The Recruitment of Artistic Workers in the Sphere of Theater/Musical

This project deals with personnel recruitment in (drama)theaters and in musical theaters. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part contains the development of social function of the theater as a culture phenomenon (it focuses also on acting and the relationship between stage and auditorium). The practical part of thesis examines the whole acting branch within the context of Czech republic by combining an understanding of the key aspects of the profession: remuneration, legislation, education, ways of recruitment etc.). There is also a description of other critical concerns of the sphere: the personal work, especially given the contracts, working environment, trade unions as well as motivation, adaptation, conducting, evaluation and control of actors etc. Using a mixed methods approach combining interviews with a production manager, psychologist, 1 quantifiable survey (made by Czech Trade Union of Actors), and interviews (and articles) in media, this study compiles accounts and ways of recruitment as well as other factors of this profession(such as psychological aspects). Results from both the surveys and interviews reflect the sphere in the Czech republic and partly in foreign countries (completed with the findings of an international survey made by EuroFIA, European section of International Federation of Actors).
