The growth and development of wings during ontogeny with emphasis on Palaeodictyoptera
Rosová, Kateřina ; Prokop, Jakub (advisor) ; Sroka, Pavel (referee)
The series of two fossil species belonging to the order Palaeodictyoptera from the Late Carboniferous of Kuznetsk Basin in Russia were re-examined. The two species as Tchirkovaea guttata and Paimbia fenestrata were investigated with emphasis on the wing growth and development in comparison with the structure of developing wings in recent mayflies. This fossil material of T. guttata and P. fenestrata was long considered by previous authors as undisputed evidence for a unique type of wing development in the Palaeozoic insects. The idea was that the larvae of these insects possessed the wings, which became articulated and fully movable already earlier during the postembryonic development and that these gradually growing wings changed their position from longitudinal to perpendicular to the body axis. Moreover, the development was supposed to include two or more subimaginal instars, implying that the fully winged instars moulted several times during postembryonic development. After detailed study of the available fossils and subsequent comparison of the fossil evidence with the development of wings in the recent mayfly Cloeon dipterum it was discovered, that the alleged series of immature, subimaginal and imaginal wings of T. guttata and P. fenestrata do not provide clear evidence that would support...

The Concept of Family in the Czech Society and its Media Image in "Ulice" TV Show: Similarities and Differences
Rosová, Kateřina ; Lütke Notarp, Ulrike (advisor) ; Bednařík, Petr (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the concept of family in Czech society and on the media image in the series "Ulice". The aim of this thesis is to find the two concepts, then compare and contrast them. The research is qualitative, the used methods are content analysis and in-depth interview. The thesis begins with a theoretical part, where topics related to media constructions of reality, series "Ulice" and Czech family are explained. The theoretical part sets grounds for creating hypotheses. In the practical part, the last completed series of the series "Ulice" is analysed. The content of the viewed episodes is analysed using content analysis, followed by a verification of the hypotheses based on the theoretical part. A media image of family in the series "Ulice" is created based on the results of the content analysis. Subsequently, in-depth interviews are conducted with five Czech families, who are chosen intentionally. The concept of the Czech family in society is compiled based on the data from those interviews. Finally, the media picture of the Czech family in "Ulice" series and its concept in Czech society is compared, their similarities and differences are described. The key words are Czech family, TV show, "Ulice," media construction of reality, quality research, content analysis and...
Visualization of insect morphological structures using x-ray microtomography and other modern 3D techniques
Rosová, Kateřina ; Prokop, Jakub (advisor) ; Janšta, Petr (referee)
In my bachelor thesis I describe techniques currently used for 3D visualization of morphological structures of insects. Since X-ray microtomography is currently the most attractive option for visualizing internal insect structures, more space is dedicated to its description, but the work includes more innovative techniques. Traditional techniques used in the past decades are not neglected, since they do not lose their importance in the competition of new methods. In the first part the individual methods are presented in terms of their simplified functional mechanisms and the basic steps of creation of 3D reconstructions are described. Techniques are further compared in the text in terms of their usability on different types and sizes of samples, according to the desired final resolution of the visualization, the time required to complete the observation and final visualization and in terms of invasiveness of the techniques. The last chapter summarizes the possibilities of using these innovative methods in entomology based on available studies. Keywords: Insecta, morphology, 3D visualization, SEM, CLSM, MRI, Micro-CT
The evolution and customization of online shopping: case study SizeID 2013-2016
Rosová, Kateřina ; Klimeš, David (advisor) ; Koudelková, Petra (referee)
This work is focused on the evolution and customization of online shopping. The theoretical part presents some key terms from this area of study, like the internet and e-commerce or trends in online shopping. Then it explains the term service, its characteristics and the manner of classifying and promoting a service, based on its characteristics. In the next part, the author elucidates the term customization. The last part of the theoretical unit is dedicated to start-ups, their possible definitions and the communication of these very special types of business. In the practical part, the method is described first, followed by the case study, which contains the evaluation of the quantitative research that answers the research question. The summary contains some analysis of the data gained, followed by some recommendations for the company described in the case study, which are coming from the analysis, together with a prognosis of the upcoming direction that is the most likely for the phenomenon examined.
Following Christ in the life and work of St. Faustina Kowalska
Rosová, Kateřina ; Kohut, Pavel Vojtěch (advisor) ; Sládek, Karel (referee)
RESUMÉ ROSOVÁ, Kateřina, Following Christ in the life and work of St. Faustina Kowalska This dissertation, as the title suggests, takes aim at following Christ in the life and work of St. Faustina Kowalska. First, in the biographical part, it presents the life of the saint with particular attention to its Christocentric nature. Lastly, it concentrates on an analysis of Faustina's statements recorded in her diary and correspondance directly related to the topic of following Jesus Christ, and to the search of the specific forms of likening to Christ in the life of the saint. Statements of Sister Faustina about this examined subject and the realization of following Christ were compared with biblical revelation and the documents of the Magisterium. Due to this comparison, a conclusion could be made that St. Faustina's approach of following Christ in the dimensions of fulfilling God's will exhibits the mercy and participation of the Easter Mystery and can become inspirational for today's Christians.
