The impact of sociotherapy on the life of clients of the outreach center Magdaléna Příbram

This study deals with a qualitative research on the influence of sociotherapy on individuals addicted to substances who undergo sociotherapy at the Magdaléna Příbram outreach centre. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to determine whether the provision of sociotherapy affects the clients of the Magdaléna Příbram outreach center service. The main research question was: what is the impact of providing sociotherapy on clients of the Magdaléna Příbram outreach centre. And the secondary research question was: is sociotherapy a meaningful tool within the Magdaléna Příbram outreach center. Data were obtained through individual interviews with clients who had been in therapy for an extended period. The results showed that some clients undergo changes in their attitudes and behaviors during therapy, demonstrating increased self-reflection and a desire for personal growth. Clients perceive sociotherapy as a confidential space where they feel free to express their feelings and thoughts. The support and understanding provided by social workers/sociotherapists play a crucial role in this dynamic. Applying the profession of an addictologist in selected social services focused on working with the family in Prague

Background: Addiction in various forms is a part of people's lives, often accompanying them throughout their lives. The impacts of addiction are not limited to just the individual for whom addiction is a problem but also affect other family members. Therefore, it is desirable to work with other family members and close individuals using addictive substances when working with addiction clients, seeking together a way to manage the difficult situation. Addiction clients appear in various types of services, including social services, and it is precisely in these services that an addiction specialists with their transdisciplinary theoretical knowledge and skills could contribute to improving the life situations of families seeking social counseling, shelters, or utilizing socially activating services for families with children. Background: Jaroslav Skála was a Czech physician, psychiatrist, and, as he later stated, an alcohologist. He specialized not only in the field of alcoholism treatment but also in curing addictions to other substances. He graduated The Faculty of Medicine of Charles University and later devoted his life to helping and healing alcohol addicts and the ones addicted to other substances. He is a co-founder of KLUS and in 1948 he founded Apolinar anti-alcoholic division in Prague. Later, in 1951, he founded detoxification (sobering-up) centre. Throughout his whole life, he focused on psychotherapy and education in the field of medicine and psychotherapy. Aim: Aim of this thesis is to abundantly study and describe life and professional career of doc. Skála. Focusing especially on the beginnings of Apolinar centre and Apolinar treatment model. Psychosocial factors affecting alcohol use in menopausal women

Background: Alcohol use during menopause in women is poorly mapped. Climacterium and the transition from reproductive life to life without menses are associated with many, not only health challenges. Aim: The aim of the research was to map the link between alcohol use and the period of menopause. Design of the work: Quantitative research is based on the analysis of data obtained through an anonymous questionnaire survey that took place on the Facebook page Menopause is not a pause. The questionnaire included two standardized questionnaires, namely the Kupperman index and the AUDIT test for the identification of alcohol use disorders. Research set: The research sample consisted of 89 respondents ranging from 40 to 55 years of age. This group was further divided into two groups, namely women who went through menopause (n = 35) and women who did not go through menopause (n = 54). Methods: Descriptive analysis was performed by methods of descriptive statistics. The hypotheses were verified using Spearman's nonparametric correlation coefficient and his statistical significance test. The Shapiro-Wilk test and the Mann-Whitney U test were also used. Analysis of implementation of governmental drug policy in Cheb region

The purpose of this thesis consists in describing and analyzing the state of implementation of anti-drug policy of the Government of the Czech Republic at the local level and in proposing possible measures to improve such state. Specifically, the Cheb region in Karlovy Vary Region is involved. In this bachelor's thesis, the anti-drug policy is described in its basic approaches, principles, international cooperation and institutional background and important documents. In the thesis, we also deal with the issue of the Czech drug scene, how and by which it was influenced, and how it was reflected in the anti-drug policy of the Czech Republic. It is later described in more detail in its coordination, strategy a respective documents. At the regional level, the thesis analyses the state of implementation of anti-drug policy of the Government of the Czech Republic, in particular with regard to its coordination and institutional background. Individual, social and cultural factors shaping the use of amphetamine-type stimulants in Europe

Background: Amphetamine-type stimulants (ATS) encompass a varied assortment of substances that possess comparable pharmacological effects and stimulant characteristics. ATS display diversity in patterns of use among different substances and users' sociodemographic characteristics. The utilization of ATS is associated with both favorable and unfavourable outcomes. The biopsychosocial model of substance use provides a comprehensive framework for understanding ATS use. Aims: The primary objective of this study is to cultivate a thorough comprehension of the motivating factors driving individuals to initiate, cease, escalate, and/or curtail their ATS use. Material and methods: In a mixed methods approach, qualitative interviews were conducted to explore distinct groups of ATS users and one group of non-ATS users. These qualitative interviews then informed standardized quantitative computer-assisted personal interviews that utilized a range of (standard) instruments. The interviews were carried out in five European Union member states, and a minimum of five years had to elapse between the first usage of or exposure to ATS and the conducted interview. Perception of the moral acceptability and riskiness of selected addictive substances among the adult population

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the perception of moral acceptability and riskiness of selected addictive substances in the adult population. The aim of this thesis is to describe the relationship between perception of moral acceptability and perception of riskiness of using selected substances between adult respondents based on a questionnaire survey. The research also attempts to map how attitudes differ in relation to gender, education, respondents' region of residence and their personal experience with addictive substances. The research sample consisted of 172 respondents, 128 women and 43 men. A minimum age of 18 years and voluntary participation were the prerequisites for entering the study. Respondents were selected by self-selection and snowball sampling methods. The thesis is based on the findings obtained through quantitative research, and the research instrument was an online questionnaire. The questionnaire was divided into four sections: basic socio-demographic data of the respondents, questions related to moral acceptability, questions related to the riskiness of substance use and additional questions. The needs analysis of the clients in drop-in centre with a drug consumption room in Berlin.

Background: Drug consumption rooms are a service where clients can consume illegal addictive substances under the supervision of trained staff. In some countries, drug consumption rooms have been in operation for over 30 years, and various studies provide positive results that acquaint us with the benefits that drug consumption rooms provide. However, this master thesis does not aim to focus on the already confirmed, but on the specific experiences and needs of individuals who are in almost daily contact with this type of service. The research was done in a low-threshold facility with a drug consumption room in Berlin named Birkenstube. This facility has been in operation since the beginning of 2004 and is thus one of the first facilities with a drug consumption room in the city of Berlin. Despite its long history, tradition and constantly changing needs of its clientele, the activity of this facility was last evaluated in the year 2015. Family Centre - the Resocialization of Mothers-Drug Addict

The work is monitoring activities and usefulness of Centre for family dealing with mothers on psychotropic addictive drugs and their re-socialization. For the possibility of examination of the programme usefulness for the target group, the single steps of the therapy are shown in a particular client case as followed during the three stages of the project. I also asked fifty clients about eleven questions. The aims of the Centre for family were the criterions for my choice of questions. The inquiry is monitoring the achieved level of re-socialization of clients. The contribution and reasonability of this project has been shown as based on the followed case, figures obtained in the inquiry and the Centre for Family results. The clients who got through the whole programme are stabilized, re-socialized and able to be a part of the society which is very significant for the growth and development of their children. This work is focused on the Centre for Family because of its uniqueness among the other institutions dealing with the drug problems.
