CRISM sensor - available data and possible applications for mineral detection on Mars
Pavlová, Martina ; Červená, Lucie (advisor) ; Potůčková, Markéta (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on data accumulated by the Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars (CRISM) sensor and the possibilities of their subsequent processing. The first part of this paper focuses on the history of remote sensing of Mars since its beginning in the 1960s, with the most detailed description of the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) mission which carries the CRISM spectroradiometer. The nine different data products acquired by this instrument are described in detail together with the possibilities of their download and subsequent processing. Furthermore, the minerals found on the surface of Mars are mentioned and examples of their spectral curves are shown. In the practical part, the processing of CRISM data in JCAT is first presented, from the actual data download to the creation of spectral curves suitable for comparison with spectral libraries. Subsequently, an image containing low calcium pyroxene was selected. This image was preprocessed in CAT in ENVI and using three different methods which were Linear Spectral Unmixing (LSU), Spectral Angle Mapper (SAM) and spectral parameter calculation, the detection of the selected mineral was performed. The LSU and SAM methods gave similar results, but the calculation of spectral parameters differed more from them, which...
Chinese dietetics and its impact on human health
PAVLOVÁ, Martina
The main method of the thesis is a research that is focused on the comprehensive point of view on current knowledge in the field of Chinese dietetics. Today's busy lifestyle has a negative impact on our health. That results into increasing number of physical and psychological difficulties. The number of diseases of affluence such as obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, gout and myocardial infarction is constantly rising. Chinese medicine offers many ways to reach both physical and emotional resistance. Diet, as an important part of everyday life, can be significantly affected. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to familiarize with Chinese dietetics, whose centuries of proven knowledge and ancient wisdom let us learn about and give us access to healthy eating and its impact on quality of life. The thesis contains theoretical knowledge from the field of traditional Chinese medicine and diet therapy. Essential terms such as Qi, Yin and Yang, energy pathways, meridians or Zang-Fu organs, learning about nutrition according to the five elements, five tastes and five seasons of the year, are explained and to be found in this section, in detail. The thesis also presents an overview of chosen food and effects of this food to human organism. There is a unique approach in food evaluation regarding its nutrition and impact on the human body. The diet can be perceived as a preven-tion and medicine to most of the illnesses known.
Thickness of overburden and overconsolidation of Brno Clay
Pavlová, Martina ; Boháč, Jan (advisor) ; Mašín, David (referee)
Knowledge of the thickness of the overburden of sediments is important in tackling different geological and geotechnical issues. This Bachelor Thesis deals with the available methods for determining the original overburden thickness and with the possible errors from the point of view of the soil mechanics. The area of interest is the northern part of the Vienna Basin, in the vicinity of the town of Brno. The sediments in question are Miocene clays, known locally as Brno Tegel. Consequently the Thesis includes also a brief description of the geological origin of the Carpathian Foredeep.
Secondary compression of Brno Tegel
Pavlová, Martina ; Boháč, Jan (advisor) ; Král, Jan (referee) ; Rozsypal, Alexandr (referee)
Observation and measurement of long-term volumetric deformation of clay are important in tackling different geotechnical and geological issues. The area of interest is the northern part of Vienna Basin, where Miocene clays sedimented. It is locally known as Brno Tegel. The Thesis deals with the secondary compression of clays, which can be defined by the Cα/Cc concept. The one-dimensional creep can be determined using the numerical values of the coefficient of secondary compression Cα and subsequently the thickness of overburden of sediments can be estimated. The two different theories, known as Hypothesis A and B are also discussed, which have been used to interpret the effect of creep during the primary consolidation phase. The laboratory measurements of long-term oedometric tests are presented for two undisturbed samples and one reconstituted sample of Brno clay. A nonstandard behaviour in uniaxial creep is also discussed, namely the observed diffusion collapse. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

The Role of Nurse in the Prevention of Disease of Civilisation
PAVLOVÁ, Martina
The current state Prevention is a complex care of a patient when we are trying to prevent from the occurrence or development of a disease, or when we want to prevent from its consequences and mitigate them. Recommendations for prevention set by a doctor must be on a scientific basis, and they must be a part of all branches of medicine. Their effectiveness depends on the cooperation between patients and medical staff. The basic and most efficient method of prevention is the health promotion and health education, which is closely associated with it. The term health promotion involves a set of activities and precautions for the purpose of making health better and sustaining it. Diseases of civilisation (hereinafter "DoC") are groups of diseases which are distinguished by their association to our lifestyles. Human body is more and more threatened from unfavourable influences of external environment, such as the quality of atmosphere, work environment and environment itself, the lack of physical movement, unhealthy diet, smoking, and alcohol consumption. The list of diseases of civilisation varies and changes together with our society and the development of our lifestyles. Among the most common or frequent diseases of current time are cardiovascular diseases, which involve atherosclerosis, hypertension, myocardial infarction, stroke, coronary artery disease and obesity. Furthermore, between civilization diseases include diabetes mellitus type 2 or cancer, etc. The goal of the thesis There are two goals set for this paper. The first goal was to find out what the role of a nurse in the prevention of diseases of civilisation was. The second goal was to find out what the above mentioned role of a nurse was from the point of view of patients. Methodology For the purpose of the research part of this thesis, qualitative research using semistructured interviews was carried out. Respondents were divided into two groups; the first one consisted of eight nurses working at internal medicine and neurological department of the hospital in České Budějovice and a nurse working in a private office of a general practitioner for adult patients. The second group consisted of eight patients of the above mentioned health facilities. Results According to our findings, nurses and patients have different oppinions on the role of a nurse. Nurses in disease prevention see themselves as an equivalent to a doctor when undertaking this practice and giving guidance. The patient speaks only to the nurse who emphasized what they were told by the doctor and reiterated the main points. They make available to them leaflets and brochures or Internet resources. In contrast, most patients see a nurse as a more important source of information than the doctor. Patients have the feeling that the doctor does not have enough time or does not want to be botherd with questions. Rather the patient turns to his nurse, which they sees as more appropriate and someone to whom they can confide in without bothering. Summary The goal of the thesis was to focus on prevention, DoC, and the role of a nurse in the prevention of such diseases, as well as to study this issue, look at it from the point of view of patients and nurses via the interviews carried out in this paper, and to analyse such information. Based on this analysis are published recommendations for nurses and patients.
