The effect of cold exposure on regeneration in skeletal muscle
Novotná, Veronika ; Kašík, Petr (advisor) ; Vašek, Daniel (referee)
Cold is a stressful stimulus to which the body responds with an extensive physiological response, making it important to understand its complex effects. Skeletal muscle is an important thermoregulatory organ and helps maintain a constant body temperature by both shivering and non-shivering thermogenesis. At the same time, it has a considerable regenerative capacity that is modulated by the inflammatory immune response. This paper summarizes the effects of cold on skeletal muscle regeneration and the inflammatory response that is triggered after intense exercise or skeletal muscle injury. The inflammatory response is essential for the successful completion of skeletal muscle regeneration, and if it is impaired, it can have a negative effect on muscle tissue recovery. The balance between the pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory phases of the immune response, which is determined by the presence of specific immune cell populations and cytokine release, is crucial. Cold exposure is generally accepted as an effective strategy to improve skeletal muscle regeneration, but the molecular basis of this effect is not fully understood, and thus the observation of the effect of cold on skeletal muscle regeneration is still a actual topic. Keywords: cold exposure, inflammation, skeletal muscle, regeneration,...

Assessing Economic Situation of a Company and Proposals for Its Improvement
Rybár, Tomáš ; Novotná, Veronika (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
The diploma thesis focuses on the assessment of the economic situation of Prefa Brno a.s. and possible suggestions for improving its performance. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the explanation of the concepts of financial and statistical analysis. These concepts are then applied in the analytical part. From the financial analysis, the difference and ratio indicators are evaluated, supplemented by a set of indicators. Regression analysis is performed on selected ratios with a forecast for the following period and correlation analysis is used to identify the interrelationships between them. Conclusions are drawn from the results, which are used to formulate possible measures to improve the current economic situation of the entity under study.
Assessing Economic Situation of a Company and Proposals for Its Improvement
Rýpal, Matěj ; Novotná, Veronika (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the evaluation of the economic situation of the company GUMEX, spol. s.r.o. and the prediction of future development using statistical methods. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the description of selected financial ratios and statistical methods such as time series analysis, regression and correlation analysis. In the practical part, the individual ratios are calculated to assess the financial condition of the analysed company and the selected ratios are then analysed using statistical methods to predict future developments. The final part of the thesis is devoted to the proposals based on the results of the analytical part of the thesis and aimed at improving the financial situation of the company.
Creation of a software application to assess selected company indicators
Mikolaj, Šimon ; Novotná, Veronika (referee) ; Doubravský, Karel (advisor)
The focus of this bachelor’s thesis is to create a software application that will serve a specific company for the evaluation of its selected indicators. The introductory theoretical part of the thesis describes financial and statistical analysis, along with the area of data mining. The following part deals with the analysis and evaluation of the current economic situation of the company, based on the results of the application. The final design section focuses on the presentation of the developed application and suggestions for improving the current economic situation of the company.
Application of Mathematical and Statistical Methods in Company Management
Hrkeĺ, Jan ; Šustrová, Tereza (referee) ; Novotná, Veronika (advisor)
This thesis deals with the analysis and proposal of improvements to existing processes in a selected company using mathematical and statistical methods. This is achieved on the basis of digitalization and automation of invoice processing processes in the selected company in order to increase competitiveness in a dynamic business environment. Due to the high costs and risks associated with traditional manual invoice processing, the enterprise decided to switch to a modern digital solution. The thesis is divided into two parts, the first of which outlines the theoretical foundations that are the key treasure trove for the subsequent detailed analysis of the current state of invoice processing. Next, key issues are identified and an effective solution is proposed using Microsoft's SharePoint, Power Apps and Power BI technologies. The implementation of the proposed solution brings significant benefits to the business, including reduced operational costs, increased accuracy of invoice data, and freeing up human resources for other tasks.
Mathematical Methods in Economics
Kosíř, Michal ; Doubravský, Karel (referee) ; Novotná, Veronika (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of the economic situation of a company using mathematical and statistical methods. The main task was to analyze the economic situation of the company for the period 2020,2021 and 2022 and to develop a tool in Visual Basic for Applications to automate this analysis. The first part is devoted to the theoretical background further needed for the analysis. The second part deals with the introduction of the company and the analysis of the economic indicators of the three entioned years. The final part describes the proposed solution to simplify the analysis.

This thesis discusses the analysis of logistics costs for a company operating a network of vending machines and the subsequent minimization of the established costs by changing the locations and number of supply depots. A function reflecting the dependence of transport, warehousing, and inventory holding costs on the number and locations of depots is derived. The coefficients of this objective function are identified based on data provided by the analyzed company. Optimization of the locations and number of supply depots is performed using the Nelder and Mead iterative algorithm in combination with agglomerative clustering. The proposed approach to optimizing the logistics network is described from a mathematical-statistical and implementation perspective. Special attention is paid to finding optimal routes between supply depots and vending machines using geographic software, which also allows for measuring the route length and the time required to cover the obtained distance. The thesis then presents six proposals for reorganizing the logistics network, reflecting the optimal distribution of supply depots at their different numbers. Various shapes of the inventory holding costs are also considered, and their impact on the optimal number and locations of supply depots is discussed.

Mathematical Methods in Economics
Florescu, Chiril ; Budík, Jan (referee) ; Novotná, Veronika (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with the problem of option trading and its advanced strategies applied to financial markets using algorithmic trading. The theoretical part includes the basic concept of the financial market, a detailed characterization of the investment instrument with its boundary properties, and an overview of algo-trading. In the following section, the implementation and analysis of combined option positions on underlying assets such as equities and exchange-traded funds using beta-weighted deltas are discussed. The result of the work is the design of a trading strategy, backtesting on historical data and optimization of individual parameters for higher efficiency.
