Elements of Multiculturalism in Corporate Identity of Companies in Czech Republic

Dealing with the subject of multiculturalism, this dissertation thesis investigates the elements of Japanese, Korean, and American national mentalities in the management of companies located in the Czech Republic. The main goal of this thesis is to identify these elements in corporate culture, find out, which of them lead to the most conflict situations, and suggest procedures to identify and eliminate resulting problems. On a more general level, this thesis provides basic characteristics of business environment and the approaches of world philosophers, anthropologists and sociologists. This thesis further identifies specific multicultural elements in organizations, and suggests its own model of multicultural corporate identity and a model for the identification of conditions that, when fulfilled, lead to strong corporate identity. This thesis also characterizes Czech cultural environment and compares it with that of Japan, Korea and the USA, based on surveys of well recognized Czech sociologists. The main emphasis of this thesis lies on the examination of corporate identity of American, Japanese, and Korean management. Based on a questionnaire survey, four major conflict areas of investigated cultures are identified. These are different opportunities within the company, non-economic use of time, the way of managing company meetings, and the way individual work is presented. In the last section of the thesis, possible solutions to these conflicts situations are provided.

The automotive industry in the Czech Republic considering activity of TNC Volkswagen Group in the Czech market

This Bachelor Thesis focuses on automotive industry in the Czech Republic. This Bachelor Thesis describes closer the impact of economic crisis in automotive industry and the globalization of automotive industry and foreign direct investment in automotive industry in Czech Republic and also describes trade balance of this industry sector in Czech Republic. For more information value, the Bachelor thesis focuses on a TNC company Volkswagen Group, especially its representation in the Czech Republic. The main goal of this work is to determine the prognosis of the automotive industry in the Czech Republic and prognosis of the domestic market with new cars.

The impact of the cultural differences of a country on the management practices.

This thesis deals with the analysis of the cultural differences of different countries and regions with their influence on the functioning of international companies on a particular example of a South Korean company on the Indian market. In the first part of this work basic managerial functions will be analyzed, with a specific highlight of the Human Resources management. Basic differences in the functioning of different processes in different companies are specified. Also, the main principles of the adaptation to these features are listed. Cultural differences from the point of view of different dimensions are mentioned. The methodology of G. Hofstede, the GLOBE project (Global Leadership and Organizational Behavior Effectiveness), S. Hall a F. Trompenaars are being used. The second part of this work if focused on the description of the cooperation of two mentalities, on the example of a South Korean company on the Indian market. The comparison of the cultures is being led by the description of the basic mentality characteristics, both Korean and Indian and description of the functioning of the above mentioned company. The impact of this work is the analysis of the importance of the understanding cross cultural differences when expanding abroad and cooperating with foreign employees.

Corporate culture of german company Bosch Diesel.cz

This thesis deals with the issue of corporate culture from both practical and theoretical point of view. In the theoretical part of the thesis are defined terms such as culture, national culture, corporate culture, corporate image, identity and ethic. The thesis studies impact of encouter of more national cultures on the corporate culture of global compenies and analyses the main differences between czech and german culture and entrepreneurial environment. The practical part focuses specifically on the corporate culture of the german company Bosch Diesel which operates in the Czech republic. This part analyses separate elements of the corporate culture such as development and motivation of employees, internal communication or social responsibility. The questionnaire at the end of the thesis analyses, how is the implemented corporate culture evaluated by the personnel of the company.
