Parametres of 3D printing of concrete
Navrátil, David ; Szabari, Mikuláš (referee) ; Kočiš, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the investigation of 3D printing parameters of concrete in the context of minimizing imperfectly homogenized mixtures with known printing methods. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the research, which is divided into three parts. In the first part of the research is a topic dealing with known technologies of 3D printing from concrete. The second part of the research is devoted to the description of the individual components of 3D printing equipment. As the last part of the research is the determination of basic parameters of 3D printing from concrete, including their description. The second part of the thesis starts with the system analysis and formulation of the problem. This is followed by a listing of the identified parameters of the printers offered by the selected companies. Then, a multicriteria analysis was performed to decide on the printer with optimal parameters, which are associated with minimizing the waste of the imperfectly homogenized mixture. The thesis concludes with a discussion of the possible continuation of the problem, together with its own recommendations for practice.
The supervillains and their motivations in Marvel Cinematic Universe movies
Navrátil, David ; Hrdina, Matouš (advisor) ; Štoll, Martin (referee)
This thesis deals with the villains' depiction in the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. By examining the first 20 movies of the series, I try to find out how are the villains depicted in the MCU movies and what are their motivations. This is achieved through combination of studying relevant literature that deals with the topic, qualitative content analysis of the movies and narrative analysis, which is based on the monomyth structure of Joseph Campbell and its reinterpretation for movies and television by Christopher Vogler. In this thesis I first shortly describe the history of superhero movie as a whole and the specifics of the shared Marvel Cinematic Universe. In the theoretical part I describe Campbell's and Vogler's narrative structure. Then I describe the methodology, which I then use to describe the findings and their interpretations. In this part I examine the villains' motivations, which are divided into several categories, and examine their story arcs through the prism of the Hero's journey structure. Here it is shown that the villains in the MCU movies are depicted in an overwhelmingly Manichean way. In the discussion, I describe possible issues with my research and suggest potential directions of further research. In the conclusion, I then summarize the findings of both the theoretical...
Být na správném místě ve správný (i nesprávný) čas: Analýza platů CEO za štěstí před a po finanční krizi
Hadincová, Ludmila ; Navrátil, David (advisor) ; Špecián, Petr (referee)
Diploma thesis tests the existence of luck premium on U.S. CEOs' compensations. Luck premium means that in case of high principal-agent costs, CEOs are rewarded for random luck and not only for their productivity. Thesis uses financial crisis in 2008 as a breaking event after which attention and control of CEOs' remuneration by owners, public, and media intensified. Using regression with fixed effects on panel data between years 2004 and 2012 thesis proved impact of luck premium before 2008 while the influence was not significant after 2008. Results were not robust for other model specifications, which might be caused by selectivity of the dataset. Thesis then presents overview of theoretical approaches to CEOs' compensation analysis and recommendations for optimal compensation set-up.
