Language Analysis of Czech Translations of the Song of Songs before the Kralice Bible
Michalcová, Anna ; Voleková, Kateřina (advisor) ; Dittmann, Robert (referee)
Up until the Kralice Bible, Old Czech biblical translations, traditionally divided into four translations, were based solely on the Latin Vulgate. This thesis examines all available Old Czech and Early Modern Czech biblical sources created before the Kralice Bible and assesses whether they contain the Song of Songs, one of the sapiental books, and if so, it attempts to identify whether the translation stems from an earlier version, or of it is a new translation. Several versions from the four Old Czech bible translations and later prints of the 16th century were then chosen as sources for representative editions of the Song. Based on those editions, a linguistic analysis of the texts was performed, oriented on phonologic, morphologic, lexical and syntactic features, which eventually yielded several tendencies in selected aspects of the linguistic development of the Czech language.
The forms of fantasy (mystique) in Czech prose at the end of the 19th century
Michalcová, Anna ; Merhaut, Luboš (advisor) ; Vaněk, Václav (referee)
The goal of this Bachelor's thesis is the identification and description of chosen texts with fantastic elements by Jakub Arbes, Julius Zeyer, Svatopluk Čech, Adam Chlumecký, Josef Jiří Kolár, Alfons Bohumil Šťastný and Karel Švanda of Semčice. Fantastic literature is defined as a genre in the first chapter and described in terms of its historical context in the next. The third chapter marks the aspects which are used for text interpretation (characters, time and space, motives, formal aspects). Chapters five and six introduce the context of the Czech territory in the second half of the 19th century and the categorisation of fantasy types according to Krejčí (Arbes and Zeyer, 1975). The following chapters place the chosen texts into these categories, namely Arbesian, Zeyerian and utopian fantasy. The final chapter includes a summary, which finds Krejčí's categorization as functional.

(hereinafter as Bauer Media). Heinrich Bauer Verlag acts as a worldwide media group and is covered by Bauer Media Group. The main goal of my thesis is to analyze the position of Bauer Media on the Czech media market. At the same time I focus on the development of the mother company. As an analysis method I use the evaluation of the chronological development of both of the companies with an emphasis on the most fundamental circumstances. In case of Bauer Media I compare the observations with the development of the Czech magazine market. Further I analyze especially the specific data about paid circulation and magazine readership of the magazines published by Bauer Media because magazines are the primary focus of the Czech company, as well as the mother company. The bachelor thesis is divided into three main parts. In the introductory theoretical part I explain various theories and definitions which are linked to the topic of the bachelor thesis. The following part focuses on the position of Bauer Media Group in Germany and worldwide. I also briefly introduce the presence of the company in Great Britain and...
