The role of radiologist assistant in the diagnostics and therapy ofbreast cancer
Zavřelová, Martina ; Jirkovská, Michaela (advisor) ; Malinová, Běla (referee)
Bachelor thesis "The role of radiological assistant in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer". The work is composed of five main parts and several subparts. The first part deals with the description of anatomy of female breast. The second part is devoted to the classification of breast tumors and includes risk factors for the emergence of breast cancer. The following section is devoted to the diagnosis of breast cancer. Diagnosis includes mammography, breast ultrasound, duktography, mammography stereotax, breast magnetic resonance, CT and breast mammoscintigraphy. The most important for radiological assistant is mammography. The fourth part is about the treatment of malignant tumors especially carcinoma. These include surgical treatment, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and brachytherapy. The greatest emphasis is placed on radiotherapy, chemotherapy and brachytherapy, where the X-ray assistant applies. The last part of the work is devoted to the prevention of breast cancer. Prevention includes clinical examination, self-examination and mammography screening. The work is also supplemented by images and a list of the used materials. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Quantitative comparison of pericytal coverage of placental capillaries of diabetic and non-diabetic mothers
Vyletěl, Ivan ; Jirkovská, Marie (advisor) ; Bártová, Jarmila (referee)
This bachelor thesis is a contribution to the research of structure of the placental capillaries. It deals with a quantitative comparison of pericytal coverage which encloses the endothelium of capillaries. Samples were substracted from the placentas of 8 healthy mothers and from 18 placentas of mothers whose pregnancies were complicated by Type I diabetes mellitus. The marker of pericytes actin was demonstrated by immunohistochemistry on histological sections of formaline-fixed and paraffin-embedded specimens. Images of the placental terminal villi were obtained by confocal microscope and converted into TIFF data format. Measurements of the extent of pericytal coverage on the cross-section of a capillary were realized using ImageJ software. The obtained data were statistically analyzed and the conclusions were drawn from the results and revelation of a blind test. The test did not confirm the hypothesis that the diabetes mellitus type I affects the density of pericytal coverage of the capillary walls in the placenta.
Three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy versus intensity modulated radiotherapy in the treatment of head and neck carcinoma
Jirkovská, Michaela ; Lohynská, Radka (advisor) ; Pála, Miloslav (referee) ; Mrzena, Lubor (referee)
The treatment of locally advanced head and neck cancer (LAHNC) requires a multimodality approach. Radiotherapy with combination of chemotherapy has demonstrated to be effective, however, the treatment intensification leads to increased toxicity at the same time. The implementation of "three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy" (3D-CRT) allowed to irradiate the treatment volume more precisely with better surrounding healthy tissue sparing. Intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) facilitated higher conformity in dose shaping to target volume. IMRT with simultaneous integrated boost (IMRT-SIB) offered the possibility to deliver individualized dose levels within one fraction and enabled escalation of the dose per fraction and radiotherapy acceleration. The aim of our study was to compare the technique of 3D-CRT and IMRT-SIB in the treatment of LAHNC and evaluate the treatment outcome and the treatment-related toxicity. 262 patients in 3D-CRT group and 263 patients in IMRT-SIB group underwent the radical treatment for LAHNC between 1/1998 and 12/2016. No statistically significant differences in locoregional control (LCR) and overall survival (OS) were found between the two groups. Acute toxicity and xerostomia were significantly reduced in patients treated with IMRT-SIB. IMRT-SIB is a safe radiotherapy...
Codes of Ethics in the Ligth of Current Interpreting Practice
Jirkovská, Markéta ; Čeňková, Ivana (advisor) ; Rejšková, Jana (referee)
The topic of the present thesis is professional ethics in interpreting. The thesis consists of two main parts - a theoretical part and empirical research. The theoretical part first defines ethics in terms of philosophy and introduces some key subject- related concepts. Subsequently, it focuses on professional ethics and characterizes the main documents that set out desirable standards of conduct within a certain profession - codes of ethics and codes of conduct. This general introduction is then followed by an overview of research into ethics in interpreting studies, and a brief outline of the history of codes of ethics for interpreters. The following chapters discuss ethical challenges in different interpreting settings and briefly introduce major Czech and foreign professional organizations of interpreters. The core of the theoretical part compares ten selected codes of ethics of different Czech and international professional interpreters organizations; based on this comparison, basic rights and obligations of interpreters are identified and further analysed in the empirical part. The empirical part of the thesis presents and discusses the results of a questionnaire survey focusing on selected topics of interpreting ethics discussed in the theoretical part. The aim of the survey, which was...
Influence of the job position on the way of eating and the possibilities of educating employees in the selected region
Jirkovská, Markéta ; Marádová, Eva (advisor) ; Kovaříková, Miroslava (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of catering of employees, three selected workplaces, with regard to the job position, the way of meals and also the possible health problems related to the performance of their work. The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out whether there is an influence of the working environment on employees' meals, as well as how eating habits reflect their health status during working hours. The theoretical part deals with health issues, the Health 2020 program and also with procedures to protect and prevent disease. The practical part analyzes and evaluates the data obtained through the questionnaire survey among the three selected workplaces. It is clear from the questionnaire survey that the position affects not only the way of eating, but also the possible health problems.
