Not True, but Could Be: Fake News in Current Czech Media
DOLEŽALOVÁ, Barbora
This diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of fake news and disinformation mainly in the Czech media space, especially on Czech disinformation websites or social networks. The thesis will outline the issues surrounding the notion of fake news and its resolution within democratic regimes. Fake news and misinformation, with particular reference to 'gender ideology', the Istanbul Convention and racist narratives, will be viewed through the prism of intersectional feminism. Using specific visual and textual examples from disinformation websites, it will give examples and use the method of critical discourse analysis to show how the media in question work with text and visual elements and what discursive frames they communicate. The thesis maps the narratives of disinformation websites with respect to contemporary Czech political discourse.

The environment of Charta 77, women's participation in dissent and especially their representation will be examined.
Psychological profiling of the offender during investigation of serious offences with emphasis on sexually motivated delicts
Doležalová, Barbora ; Netík, Karel (advisor) ; Boukalová, Hedvika (referee)
This diploma work overviews and clarifies findings which were made in the field of psychological profiling of the offender. Presented text is based on the interdisciplinary approach that connects and summarizes conclusions which were collated in the domain of specific forensic sciences and are closely associated with offender profiling. The principal inputs included in the theoretical part of the work are primarily gathered from American sources, but there are also mentioned significant European and domestic contributions to the profiling method. Besides general theoretical thesis, methodological principals and relevant historical connections it is particularly focused on profiling of those offenders who have committed serious sexual delicts, especially sexual murders and rapes. Throughout the work the accent is put on characteristic aspects of the crime scene, on specific methods of acting, on victimology and of course on wide spectrum of offender characteristics. The theory is illustrated by two criminal cases where the practical use of profiling process is clearly demonstrated. Some concrete suggestions of further research are also involved.
Two-branch study as an opportunity to be original
Doležalová, Barbora ; Kitzbergerová, Leonora (advisor) ; Fišerová, Zuzana (referee)
The thesis focuses on the possibility of designing an original concept of integration of art education with English language. The theoretical part primarily deals with the issues of creativity and originality in teaching art education, with the possibility of connecting art education and English language education and with the concept of language as a code. In the didactic-research part a didactic project based on authorial approach to integration of English language in art education is created, put into practice and critically evaluated. The first realization of the project aims to verify the possibility of its conduction and to evaluate the project from students' point of view. It is followed by the second realization, which is used for purposes of a research inquiry focused on gathering findings concerned with the integration of art education with English language in the realization of authorial project of interdisciplinary teaching. In the research part author's own reflections of the lessons, selected reflections of the students and selected students' art works (gathered during the realization of the project) are analysed. The inquiry includes questionnaires focused on teaching approaches of art teachers at school where the project took place. Combined partial findings conclude to specific...
The morisco question in Cervantes' work
Hanusová, Martina ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (advisor) ; Doležalová, Barbora (referee)
This thesis deals with the Morisco question in the work of Miguel de Cervantes. It situates the author in the historical and social context of 16th and the beginning of 17th century when Philip III of Spain had banished the Morisco community from Spanish Kingdom. It studies the influences which had impact on Cervantes' life and could be reflected in this issue. Also, all the mentions of Moors, Moriscos and Arabic culture are analized, all mentions in three pieces of Cervantes' work, the novel The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha, the drama Los Tratos de Argel and the pastoral novel Galatea. All the mentions are divided into the chapters according the positive, objective or negative meaning in relation to the Moriscos. The analyses of each chapter create the opinion of Miguel de Cervantes of the Morisco question. The thesis discovers that the impact of coexistence of Christian and Muslim culture in Spain, his life experience and the historical expulsion of Moriscos, are considerably reflected in author's literary work. Keywords Moriscos, Moors, Don Quixote, baroque, Los Tratos de Árgel, La Galatea, novel
The theme of love in the poetry of the Generation of '27
Doležalová, Barbora ; Sánchez Fernández, Juan Antonio (advisor) ; Poláková, Dora (referee)
The diploma thesis "The theme of love in the poetry of the Generation of '27" provides an interpretation of the motif of love in the work of three poets of this formation: Vincente Aleixandre, Pedro Salinas, and Luis Cernuda. It focuses on the collections of poems from the period of the "rehumanization" of Spanish poetry where "to rehumanize" is to return to the subject of love. The authors highlight the correlation of love and poetry as a means to overcome solitude of an individual and to relate to another or to the world. The influence of surrealism on the work of Vincente Aleixandre and Luis Cernuda has been outlined. Moreover, a thesis claiming that the "rehumanization" happened only under the influence of the surrealist movement has been refuted, which is illustrated on the lyric love poems of Pedro Salinas. The work attempts to show that even in this period the elements of pure, "dehumanized" poetry were not completely eliminated. In the work of Vicente Aleixandre, love is characterized as a cosmic force, which rules the whole world - it destroys, reforms and interlinks all. An emphasis is given on the corporeal nature of such love and the interconnection between erotism and the artistic process. In the work of Pedro Salinas, the motif of love is interpreted as a story of two people realized...
Transporters KT/HAK/KUP - role in plant development and response to environmental conditions
Doležalová, Barbora ; Tylová, Edita (advisor) ; Hála, Michal (referee)
Potassium is an essential element, which is important in many plant processes. It functions as a major osmotic and is involved in the regulation of turgor during cell growth or stomatal movements. It is also important for maintaining membrane potencial. In plants, potassium transporters from the KT/HAK/KUP family are involved in the transport of K+ . Some of them are important in the uptake of K+ from the enviroment (HAK5, KUP7), others in regulation of cell turgor (KUP2, KUP6, KUP8). In Arabidopsis thaliana, less characterized KT/HAK/KUP transporters include KUP5 and KUP9, which I studied in this diploma thesis. In this diploma thesis, I analyzed the growth phenotype of kup5 mutant plants. The results show that kup5 mutant plants are not more sensitive to K+ deficiency than wild-type plants, therefore KUP5 is probably not involved in the K+ uptake from the enviroment. Kup5 mutant plants were larger than wild-type plants, had larger root and hypocotyl cells as well as longer root meristematic zone. This growth phenotype suggests that KUP5 is involved in the regulation of cell growth, probably through turgor regulation. Using the pKUP5::KUP5-GFP construct, the KUP5 protein was localized in the ER, but this localization needs further verification. Using the pKUP5:GUS construct, KUP5 expression was...
Psychological aspects of criminological recognition
Doležalová, Barbora ; Boukalová, Hedvika (advisor) ; Gillernová, Ilona (referee)
There are many psychological aspects that enter the process of recognition. The theoretical part summarizes the current knowledge of the process of recognitions and explains some phenomena that may be involved in this process, among others the age of a witness and his subsequent ability to pass the process of reconciliation fruitfully. As far as foreign sources demonstrate a lot of research has been focused on this topic, however, when it comes to the domestic literature, this topic has not yet been given sufficient attention despite the fact that the percentage of the age representation in the population is changing significantly and the number of seniors, and thus potential senior witnesses, is constantly growing. Based on previous foreign research, this work presupposes that seniors have more difficulty with recognizing and identifying the offenders than younger adults do because their decision making is influenced by various factors, such as memory deterioration, higher suggestibility, or attempt to comply with authority. Subsequently, the thesis follows the connection between successful recognition and the certainty with which it was assumed. The research was conceived as an experiment and was attended by 120 participants. At first the video was presented and then participants were asked to...
Criminality in the Czech Repulic
Doležalová, Barbora ; Cahlík, Tomáš (advisor) ; Palanská, Tereza (referee)
This thesis aims to analyze factors influencing crime rate in the Czech Republic. From time immemorial, crime rate has been a part of our society and its impacts do not influence only its victims but the whole economy as well. The main contribution of this thesis is an econometric analysis of the most recent panel data of Czech counties from 2010 to 2017. Thanks to this dataset we identified factors and their significances. For more accurate results we also examined factors influencing particular crimes - robbery, burglary, rape and murder. By analysis we found out that unemployment rate is significant factor, however, this factor has negative relationship with crime rate. This relationship can be described that by increasing unemployment rate people more care about their belongings, hence, it is harder for criminals to commit a crime. Positive and significant relationship was found between unemployment and robbery. Furthermore, results show that the percentage of foreigners is positively significant to burglary and rape. Therefore, it is important to focus on integration of foreigners into our society. Moreover, income inequality is positively significant in a rape model and the deterrence is positively significant as well in a crime rate model.
