Stability indicating method for evaluation of the active substance in pharmaceutical product

Kateřina Burdová Supervisor: PharmDr. Petr Kastner, Ph.D. Title of thesis: Stability indicating method for evaluation of the active substance in pharmaceutical product A selective method for the determination of sodium picosulfate, its related substances and sodium benzoate using high-performance liquid chromatography was developed and validated. Separation of components was achieved with LiChroCART®, 250x4,0, Purospher® STAR, RP - 18C, 5μm column using UV detector at 263 nm. The mobile phase consisted of a buffer, acetonitrile and isopropyl-alcohol in the ratio of 55:43:2 (v/v/v). The buffer contained sodium dihydrogen phosphate, water R and cetyltrimethylammonium bromide. The pH value was adjusted by phosphoric acid to 7.0. The temperature of the column was 40 řC, injection volume 4 μl, the flow rate was adjusted to 1.0 ml/min. The method was evaluated as sufficiently selective, precise, accurate, linear and sensitive. Robustness was tested by means of Plackett-Burman design and it was found, that ratio of the acetonitrile in the mobile phase has the biggest influence on separation from all proved parameters. Adaptation of Proper Nouns in Czech-American Periodicals at the End of the 19th Century

The bachelor's thesis focuses on the process of the adaptation of proper nouns in chosen periodicals of the end of the 19th century that were published in the USA by Czech immigrants. Based on the analysis of periodicals collected from the Library of the Naprstek Museum of Prague originated a list of proper nouns that has been studied from various points of view, namely the phonetics, morphology including the word-class competition (Cedar Rapidský - Cedar Rapids) and syntax, translated and non-translated forms (Nová Praha - New Prague). In terms of proper nouns toponymical and antoponymical pertinence has been taken into account. Besides the research of the adaptation of proper nouns itself, the thesis also sums up the existing findings on the Czech-American periodicals and the processes of adaptation of proper nouns in Czech-American interference.

Study of UHPLC separation depending on temperature

Charles University in Prague Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Drug Control Candidate: Kateřina Burdová Supervisor: PharmDr. Petr Kastner, Ph.D. Title of diploma thesis: Study of UHPLC separation depending on temperature This thesis analyzes the UHPLC separation and its dependence on temperature. The aim of this project was to map the temperature dependence of the individual chromatographic parameters: retention time, symmetry factor, separation factor and resolution. Seven different commonly used methods were applied to analyze different chemical substances. These include acids, bases and neutral substances. Temperature range at Kinetex C18 column was 25 ř C to 130 ř, 150 x 2.10 mm. The manufacturer guarantees stability of this column at up to 60 řC. As a part of the analysis, the column was exposed to a temperature of 130 ř C for a short period of time. No degradation of the column was observed. The research demonstrated that in all cases, the retention time along with the separation factor decrease as the temperature increases. Similarly, the resolution worsened as the temperature increased and it was only calculated if the individual substances were sufficiently separated throughout the whole temperature range tested. Finnish surnames ending in -heimo, origin and distribution

Záměrem této práce je představit finskojazyčná příjmení končící na -heimo. Heimo znamená česky kmen, skupinu lidí stejného původu, -heimo příjmení tak mají v sobě jistý symbol národní hrdosti, vyjadřují vztah ke skupině a silnou identitu. Jejich vznik a popularita jsou úzce spojeny s důležitými vlasteneckými projevy ve Finsku, jakými bylo například národní obrození či sté výročí vydání národního eposu Kalevala. Jejich význam a možný motiv výběru zkoumám v hlavní analýze (kapitola 3.2), v níž porovnávám jednotlivé páry starých a nových příjmení. Konkrétními motivy změny jména se však v této práci zabývat nebudu.

The main aim of this thesis is to analyze the township Lázně Toušeň, especially in the field of tourism, in which the main role is played by the local spa. The work is divided in two parts; theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with one hand, general characteristics of the township, as well as the specifications of the spa. The practical part is focused on the SWOT analysis, program development community, analysis of tourism and the potential for future development.
