Teaching supplementary reading in the English language at Czech grammar schools seems to be seriously underestimated due to the prevailing communicative aims of teaching foreign languages in general. If students do come across some supplementary reading materials which teachers bring for them, these are most likely to be articles from magazines which are then used for reading round the class, practising reading comprehension or speaking about the text in the time left after the obligatory subject matter has been covered. Use of attempts focused on environmental education in nursery schools
Borecká, Markéta ; Skýbová, Jana (advisor) ; Pavlasová, Lenka (referee)
In the theoretic part of the thesis I cite information about environmental education in nursery schools, classification of didactic methods, explication of the term "experiment" and basic information about the experiments. In the next part I bring a list of experiments that are applicable for work with preschool-aged children. In the practical part I mention several experiments chosen from the list that I implemented and documented. The practical part also contains questionnaire research aimed at frequency and circumstances of experiments used in nursery schools. At the close of the thesis I present findings that teachers in nursery schools use the method of experiment in a high degrese.
