Checking of the Situation Behind the Vehicle
Jánošík, David ; Bucsuházy, Kateřina (referee) ; Belák, Michal (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of controlling the situation behind the vehicle. The first part of the thesis summarizes the knowledge about drivers, their reaction time and vehicle response, the construction characteristics of vehicles designed to control what is happening behind the vehicle, and the possibilities of measuring the duration of glances in the form of eye tracking. The analytical part contains an analysis of the duration of glances in the rear view mirrors depending on the mirror, the situation and also the driving manoeuvre during the day time. The data was obtained from video recordings of 12 drivers in normal traffic conditions. The duration of the saccades and fixations of glances was evaluated depending on the mirror used, in individual situations and also for selected driving manoeuvres. The conclusion of the analytical part is devoted to the comparison of the duration of glances during selected driving manoeuvres when exposed to stimuli as well as to the comparison of the differences in individual age groups of tested drivers.
Time Analysis of Observation in Interaction Between Driver and Pedestrian
Michalčíková, Lucie ; Tylšar, Vladimír (referee) ; Belák, Michal (advisor)
The theoretical part of this thesis deals with the description of sensory processes, human eye and visual perception. The following are traffic participant and get data using the method of eye tracking. The practical part consisted in the evaluation of driving video recordings describing the driver's observation. The frequency and length of the pedestrian observation was evaluated, and the graphical processing was performed depending on whether the pedestrian actually crossed the road or simulated walking on the side of the roadway.
Influence of trailers load on driving properties of train
Pečová, Monika ; Bradáč, Albert (referee) ; Belák, Michal (advisor)
This diploma thesis describes the behavior combination of vehicles, especially the semitrailer type when empty and loaded. In addition to the basic design differences of vehicle combinations this work presents the effects of crosswinds, tire properties and the importance of the center of gravity of the system and choice of axle type for directional dynamics.
Drivers reaction time analysis in regular road traffic
Florek, Matej ; Bilík, Martin (referee) ; Belák, Michal (advisor)
This diploma thesis focuses on driver`s reaction time in real road traffic conditions. The reaction time topic foundations are covered in the introduction as well as the motivation and brief application possibilities of the obtained results. The literature review is focused on history of developing different approaches of evaluation and terminology. For complex understanding it provides basic information about perception forms which are important parts of reaction time. The experiment was designed based on past studies review in order to get real data describing reaction time of chosen stimuli. Obtained data were analysed, partially processed values were compared with predicted results based on other researches, than integrated into general values of reaction time.
Determination of duration that driver needs to assess the situation behind the vehicle in course of turning or overtaking manoeuvres.
Belák, Michal ; Rábek,, Vlastimil (referee) ; Kolíbal, Zdeněk (referee) ; Semela, Marek (advisor)
The dissertation thesis deals mainly with determining of the duration that driver needs to assess the situation behind his vehicle at manoeuvers of turning and overtaking, based on the measurements made in real road traffic. These are common and frequent driving manoeuvers, which the driver performs while driving the vehicle in regular road traffic. For their safe execution the driver needs to have sufficient amount of information about the situation around the vehicle and especially behind the vehicle. This information can driver usually gain from devices for indirect vision, most often rear view mirrors. The time thus defined, suitable e.g for the needs of forensic engineering applications for the analysis of road accidents, has not been studied in detail yet. For the purpose of its determination, therefore, an extensive analysis of the current state of problematics related to the indirect vision from the vehicle was carried out. There were formulated influences on the time duration and with this related characteristics of humans as a part of the driver-vehicle-environment system in the thesis. The characteristics of human perception were investigated and the problematics of reaction time was discussed. Existing research focused on the duration of rear view mirrors glances was analyzed and possible methods of its measurement in detail were presented by author. Based on this, an experiment was designed and realized, the time necessary for rear view mirror glances was defined by the author. The results enable to quantify the time that the driver needs for assessing the situation behind the vehicle in connection of turning, overtaking and other driving manoeuvers when the driver needs to change the driving direction. The conclusions showed that the time needed to evaluate the situation behind the vehicle by means of the rear-view mirrors does not normally exceed duration 1 second.
Influence of Vehicle Conception on Vehicle Dynamics
Hamada, Filip ; Belák, Michal (referee) ; Bilík, Martin (advisor)
Diploma thesis speaks about the influence of vehicle conception on vehicle dynamics, which means how a vehicle behaves in certain typical situations with respect to its driving axle. The first part of this diploma thesis describes the historical background of vehicles, as well as their conceptions and evolutions, with special focus on the conceptions used in the practical element of this work. The second part of this thesis covers the theoretical knowledge of vehicle dynamics and is arranged in a systematic order corresponding to the third section of this work. The third and final chapter then investigates various vehicle conceptions and their dynamics, by running several tests and measurements, in order to make a comparison. This comparison is the main purpose of this work, and from this we can then elucidate which conception, in a certain aspect, is practically more appropriate.
A fuse heating measurement using IR camera
Belák, Michal ; Valenta, Jiří (referee) ; Aubrecht, Vladimír (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with various principles of contactless temperature measuring and comparison of these principles. Different kinds of detectors, which are used in pyrometers and thermovision systems are presented, together with description of various kinds of the contactless thermometers, their division according to many different criteria. Next it is intended on the description of thermovision exploitation in different areas of practice. An example of practical fuse heating measuring and its analysis is also presented.
Influence of selected factors on driver behavior
Křemenová, Tereza ; Belák, Michal (referee) ; Bucsuházy, Kateřina (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the influence of certain types of intersections and at the same time the time of day. The theoretical part describes the introduction to the factors affecting the driver when driving a motor vehicle. Furthermore, the work defines road junctions by law, types of road junctions and research on the issue of road junctions. The practical part of the diploma thesis is devoted to the evaluation of the total number of primary and secondary views of certain types of intersections and their average duration of day or night. At the same time, it evaluates the first direction of view according to the type of road (secondary road / main road) and the subsequent direction of travel. The obtained data are evaluated in the chapter discussion / analysis of results. The evaluated data in the first part showed that the secondary views have a shorter average duration compared to the average duration of the primary views. In the second part, the results of day and night were identical only at the roundabouts, when the drivers made the first direction of view to the left.
Driver perception in different conditions
Seriš, Jozef ; Belák, Michal (referee) ; Bucsuházy, Kateřina (advisor)
This diploma thesis is focused on the comparison of perception of traffic signs and advertising areas in two different conditions day and night with focus on visual distraction of the driver. The introductory part deals with the analysis of the current state of the elements acting on the driver with an emphasis on mental processes and the senses of drivers affecting traffic safety. The analytical part draws on the videos from driving tests, the whose goals was to monitor the optical reactions of drivers. The resulting data were evaluated with goal to determine the time consuming views of the drivers on individual elements and the compared in different conditions. The last chapter includes the interpretation of the results of the analysis with suggestion of their use to increase traffic safety.
