Optimization of electrode geometry and piezoelectric layer thickness of a deformable mirror
Kruchenko, Alexey ; Nováková, Kateřina ; Mokrý, Pavel
Deformable mirrors are the most commonly used wavefront correctors in adaptive optics systems. Nowadays, many applications of adaptive optics to astronomical telescopes, high power laser systems, and similar fast response optical devices require large diameter deformable mirrors with a fast response time and high actuator stroke. In order to satisfy such requirements, deformable mirrors based on piezoelectric layer composite structures have become a subject of intense scientific research during last two decades. In this paper, we present an optimization of several geometric parameters of a deformable mirror that consists of a nickel reflective layer deposited on top of a thin lead zirconate titanate (PZT) piezoelectric disk. Honeycomb structure of gold electrodes is deposited on the bottom of the PZT layer. The analysis of the optimal thickness ratio between the PZT and nickel layers is performed to get the maximum actuator stroke using the finite element method. The effect
Planar acoustic metamaterials with the active control of acoustic impedance using a piezoelectric composite actuator
Nováková, Kateřina ; Mokrý, P. ; Václavík, J. ; Marton, P. ; Cernik, M. ; Psota, Pavel ; Doleček, Roman ; Lédl, Vít
In the Paper, there are presented methods for a precise active control of the acoustic impedance of large planar structures, e.g glass plates or shells, by means of distributed flexible piezoelectric composite actuators which are connected to passive or active electronic shunt circuits. Design of tunable acoustic metamaterials is realized using Finite Element Method simulations and their acoustic properties are evaluated using acoustic transmission loss measurements. Static and dynamic displacements of the metamaterials produced by electric voltage are measured using Digital Holographic Interferometry. We believe that deep understanding of presented systems should result in future applications that improve the quality of everyday life.

Jaklová Dytrtová, Jana ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Jakl, M. ; Nováková, Kateřina
The detection of pesticides in environmental matrices has a purpose in analytical chemistry and it is important for understanding their role in the environment 1-3. Direct detection of pesticides in environmental matrices is complicated due to many occurring interactions with metals (e.g., Ca, Cu, Mg, Zn). The experimental utilization of combining electrochemical cell with mass spectrometry is shown in the case of thiram (T). The method is based on high affinity of copper cations to many ligands.
Awareness of Seniors about Depression
NOVÁKOVÁ, Kateřina
Depression is a mental illness which affects every aspect of human life. It does not mean that the men went crazy. It is an illness like any other. It only cannot be seen at the first sight. It cannot be measured neither vaccinated against it. But it definitely does not mean that it is less serious or that we should give it no attention. On the contrary, maybe just because it is not possible to recognize it at the first sight, we should give it a great deal of attention if we notice any of the symptoms and we should not underestimate it.This bachelor´s thesis deals with depression, it focuses on the specifics of depression at the age of seniors. Theoretical part deals with depression itself and with depression of senior citizens. Even though they both have many mutual properties, there are some differences between them. Maybe the most important is that the depression in elderly age often hides behind somatic problems and that´s why it is not very easy to recognize it. Further, the work is focused on the occurrence of depressions in population, risk factors which can follow to development of the depression, its symptoms and signs, types, potential effects and their treatment. Practical part is focused on the of dialogues with five senior citizens, on the theme of depression which should help to detect how much seniors know about this disease. The aim of practical part of this bachelor´s thesis was to detect the knowledge of seniors about depression. Fractional aim was to reveal, how the seniors treat prevention of this disease. The strategy of qualitative exploration, method of interrogation, method of half-structured dialogue was used to realise the research. The scheme of half-structured dialogue is composed of 25 questions which are divided into five branches. The research took place in Home for elderly people in České Budějovice ? Máj. The group of research is formed of five respondents who were chosen by deliberate choice. The criteria of the deliberate choice were agreement of the respondents with realization of the dialogue and the Scale of depression according to Yessavage which has tested if the chosen respondents themselves do not suffer from depression. Despite the fact that some of the answers were on the limits, none of them suffered from clinical depression according to this scale at the moment of the research. The results imply that the seniors know what the depression is and what it takes. They know its symptoms, events that can come first and they know to whom they should address in the case of long lasting sad mood and depressive feelings. All the answers concerning the depression can be considered as satisfactory. The biggest problem occurred when they had to answer these questions: Which disease can be often confused with the depression of elderly? Or how long should the depressive feelings last to be diagnosed as clinical depression? The next ?problematic question? was the treatment. All of the respondents mentioned medicaments but only two of them remembered also the non-pharmaceutical treatment. Above that some of them mentioned that depression as illness cannot be cured which, according to my opinion, is a very alarming idea. Maybe this is due to time in which they grew up and lived in a bigger part of their lives or some other factors. Depression and its symptoms are often underestimated in the age of seniors and are ascribe to other diseases what definitely should not happen. My advice is to inform more the seniors about this illness, mainly about its treatment. The research showed that if you say treatment of depression, all of the respondents remembered medicaments. Only two of all mentioned not only medical way but also some other possibilities of treatment. Only one of them remembered psychotherapy. This is not very the best according to my opinion. I believe that it comes from the fact that the seniors are used to take a huge amount of pills for different somatic problems.
Socially Activating Services For Seniors And People With Disabilities In The South Bohemia Region
NOVÁKOVÁ, Kateřina
The bachelor thesis explores possibilities of using social activation services in the South Bohemian Region. Social activation services are the social services that are embodied in the Act No. 108/2006 Coll., on Social Services, and they are provided to people in the senior age or to people with disabilities. These services are very important and necessary for the mentioned persons, because through these services the people can get actively involved into the society. In the theoretical part there are explained important concepts relating to the issue of the seniors and persons with disabilities. Further there is also a description of the Act No. 108/2006 Coll., on Social Services and an overview of the provided social services. A content analysis of relevant documents was used to work out the thesis. The research part was carried out by an interviewing method, a technique of a semi-structured interview. In total 11 facilities providing social activation services for seniors and persons with disabilities in the South Bohemian Region took part in the research. The interview consisted of 10 questions. The aim was to explore the possibilities and the use of social activation services for seniors and persons with disabilities in the South Bohemian Region. The research results show that a current capacity of the registered social service of the social activation service for seniors and persons with disabilities meets the needs of users of the South Bohemian Region. The bachelor thesis can be used for providers and users dealing with this issue. Findings from the research part of the bachelor thesis could be a basis for a processing of community plans of social services of municipalities with extended powers in the South Bohemian Region and the Medium-Term Plan for the Development of Social Services of the South Bohemian Region.

Šestáková, Ivana ; Parisová, Martina ; Nováková, Kateřina ; Navrátil, Tomáš
The influence of labile cadmium complexes on transport across phospholipid membrane with A23817 ionophore – the increase of the amount of transported cadmium ions - has been found when only diffusion controlled transport was applied. Lability of Cd-MA complex was demonstrated with stripping chronopotentiometry. Used experimental setup can be utilized for specifying conditions for transport of metal complexes with different stability.

Nováková, Kateřina ; Navrátil, Tomáš ; Šestáková, Ivana ; Mareček, Vladimír ; Chýlková, J.
Electrochemical behavior of lecithin-cholesterol mixture in the form of phospholipid membranes (PLMs) was studied in this contribution. Lecithin (phosphatidylcholine) and cholesterol were chosen for this research, because they are essential for living cells. Electrochemical behavior of this system was studied using an electrochemical cell developed in our laboratory and with applying electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Different ratios between lecithin and cholesterol placed on different polycarbonate substrates were tested. The influence of time and of temperature on formation of PLMs in presence of cholesterol was investigated.
Coaching as a method of leadership
Nováková, Kateřina ; Křečková Kroupová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Ondráček, Michal (referee)
This thesis deals with the methods of coaching as a leadership in professional basketball clubs in the Czech Republic. The objective of the thesis is to determine how much the professional basketball coaches are familiar with methods of coaching and whether they use any of them in their daily practice. To find the necessary information there has been used a questionnaire survey through email correspondence with coaches. The results are then compared with the information obtained through studying books of leading American coaches. The benefits of this thesis are identification and evaluation of the coaching utilization in management of professional basketball teams. The issue of coaching in this or any other sports in the Czech Republic has not been written up into any book. The actual summary of foreign literature dedicated to this topic is also beneficial. The bonuses of this thesis are the recommendations to improve the performance of basketball coaches. Recommendations and conclusions of this thesis can be useful not only for improving the work of the respondents of this questionnaire, but they can be used as general source for increasing work efficiency in the management of sports teams. The thesis may also be used by basketball players to expand their knowledge of the development of their own abilities and skills. The results are also useful for the Czech Basketball Federation, Association of Basketball Coaches, which is responsible for the methodology of coaches' education and universities providing a two-year educational program Trainers' School. The thesis could be divided into four main parts. The first part deals with the general areas of coaching, its use, attitudes and personality coach. The second part focuses on the area of sports coaching and then the specifics of leadership in basketball. The third part deals with the exploration of the use of coaching in leading basketball teams by professional trainers. The final section summarizes the results of individual coaches and provides recommendations to improve their work.
